- Aerial images show what remains of a section of roadway that was once part of the Baltimore Beltway as it ran across the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The road lays damaged, but unbroken, across the Dali, with even the concrete lane dividers still upright. The container ship caused the deadly collapse of the bridge nearly two months ago.

Condolences to the workers and their families who lost their lives.
That was 2 months ago. Most of them have remarried already.
Yes Susan Thats exactly what I was think when the Ship moved ... Those unfortunate Gents lost there Lives .. ... God Rest their Souls
MV Dali must be the first container ship to ever deliver a section of highway to a port.
ROFLMAO
You know… I can’t fully hate you for it… it’s a masterful presentation of such a horrible joke.
I'm no expert but I'm fairly sure that ships are not supposed to have two bridges.
2 Bridges that's funny because one bridge the controls of the boat and the other bridge pieces that fell on the boat. 🛥🚢🛳🚤🛶 Ha ha ha ha!!!! 😮😊😋😉🤡🙈🙉🙊
Depends on the type of the ship on whether or not the ship has more than one bridge. That said the Dali is special because its second bridge currently located on the bow was self installed while the Dali was destroying the FSK bridge. Jokes aside I bet they will be finding bits and pieces of the FSK bridge on the bow of the Dali when it is being cut up into scrap metal at ship breakers in India or Pakistan a few years from now
That second one is their "Trophy Bridge"
It’s unbelievable that a 4 lane highway could look that small, Think about how wide that is as you’re driving on the interstate. I could only imagine how enormous the Dali is seeing it in person.
Each one of those containers is a semi-truck trailer. Think about it that way.
only two ways.
It would have been a completely different story If this ship breaks up during impact. It's a miracle (and an amazing feat of engineering) that they were able to re-float it and move it away. Kudos to all involved. RIP for the six workers that died in such a horrible way.
`damaged, but unbroken´? 🤦 It IS BROKEN!!!
Just the weight of the roadbed laying across the bow of the Dali - I would estimate that approximately 6000 ft.² of roadbed. Given the average concrete or blacktop roadbed for a span the width of the bridge would be roughly 64 pounds per square foot. So just that section of roadbed weighs somewhere in the neighborhood of 190 tons! (384,000 lbs!). Boggles the mind and slightly amazed it didn't simply tear off the bow entirely! I believe they will repair the ship and my guess is they might very well section off the entire damaged bow and replace it. Might be the cleanest possible way to fix it.
Hopefully they fix the potholes in the hwy before unloading it.
Wow that pice of the bridge is still on there it's not light by any means. It shows the strength of the ship and shipping containers.
My Goodness What dangerous work above and below the surface.Excellent closeup of the Dali. The highway light amazes me across the strip of asphalt on the ship. What skill to get the Dali to the Marine terminal.
More skill than it took to knock down the bridge I'm sure.
They can take that piece of roadway home with them,,,To remind them,,,,Dont run into bridges
😂 😂
Any potholes?
What,,,is,,,with,,,the,,,commas,,,that's,,,not,,,an,,,ellipsis,,,
.........
@@TheRealWickedMelon It`s a pause,,,If you dont like my comment pass it by and mind your own business,,,,,,OK ????
@@dabbler2007 the potholes fell off in the water,so NO,, Just a few cracks
People in the comments are funny. It's unbroken because the piece as a whole has not broken off into small chunks. It's an unbroken section if you ask me. Obviously it's fractured but the way the bridge is built that section remains held together since it's laying on the deck. I'm sure if they lift it then it'll start falling apart. Then it will be a broken up section.
In no way, shape, or form is this bridge section "unbroken". I see at least five separate sections of roadway where the only thing that kept it from falling away was the rebar support in the concrete bed. That's the dictionary definition of "broken".
There's broken, and there's broken..........
Kind of eerie how a street lamp that was once way up on the bridge is now just a few feet over the workers heads!
Yes, I saw that on Marketplace. "Former elevated section of slightly used roadway, never submerged, must sell make offer".
I noticed the anchor chain severed. Will the MV DALI get her anchor and chain back or is that scrap that goes with the FSK bridge?
Just think, if those workers were parked right there,😢
I guess my definition of unbroken is different.....
"unbroken" ???
It’s fine. In better shape than a lot of other roads !
I know I’m not the only one thinking this… but it is really weird seeing a piece of road on a boat… in one major piece none the less! The dividers, the marks on the pavement. Even that weird metal lookin pole that’s bent managed to hang on there! It just looks so surreal…
L'absence de soutitrage est regrettable dommage
Hello ! my container is late in arriving ... ( would you like a section of US highway as compensation ? ) ..... DAVE™🛑
Will there be a faster viewing of the boat going back to port? The road is broken but still on the boat. Imagine sitting in a vehicle on that broken road piece while the boat was moving back to port. I would like to see a video of all the construction equipment that was on that bridge we didn't see that much.
Would love to hear what they’re talking about
The Bridge didn't collapse, it was destroyed by that ship. and the owners should be paying for it 100%.
Interesting how that little tugboat appears to be holding it in place
Brilliant narration. Would listen again.
That section of road is def broken and its not eerie in any way.
Παλαιοί καπετάνιοι μου είπαν ότι στη Γερμανία πάλι το πλοίο αυτό είχε το ίδιο πρόβλημα
Finally! My Amazon pkgs will be on their way!!!
Those deck hands are working backward on the ropes , untying them, then playing with the big ropes.
This is a new painting by Dali.
Damaged, but still in one piece.
no mike, no like
THAT 👆is “Unbroken”?
How is that eerie? Who writes this crap?
Surprised they didn't use the usual "SHOCKING"
We in print media call our TV counterparts "airheads."
@@usenamenotallowed I c what you did there. Lol
Thought it sucked to stay on board for all this time shore leave will be restricted to Jail. Certainly charges ready by now. Warrant waiting?
The crew still wouldn't be allowed to leave after all the containers are unloaded till the FB I finish their investigation and repairs done to the ship.
Bridge delivery complete.
They could just leave it and use it as a heliport.
the ship should be renamed "The Incompetence."
This is out a bit....
After a seapatch in NORFOLK VA she will most probably sail back to the Far East for a full repair, renaming and reflagging. (cover up)
What happened to the traffic cone that was shown so many times? I guess the workers filling the potholes put them out for safety.
Soon on ebay
They left peace of broken bridge so maybe can sell it as souvenirs to pay damage .
HUGE
Reminds me of the dead whales we've seen draped across the bulbous bows of ships coming into San Francisco Bay.
Hello
I wanna see the channel
I wonder what’s gonna happen to the remaining peace’s of the bridge that didn’t collapse. Our they gonna tear it down and completely remove the rest of the key bridge remains from the river?
our they gonna just let them sit there for while? Our they gonna wait into they begin reconstruction of the new bridge?
Those too empty road ways just sitting there is not a good look. I’m pretty sure there not gonna reuse them.
As they will be building an entirely new bridge I'd imagine all of the old bridge will be removed, including the remaining ramps. The new one will be radically different enough (taller, supports further from the shipping channel) that it's unlikely they'd use any of the existing structure.
"EERIE" not hardly. Total click bait trash rewarded with a THUMBS DOWN
Now maybe I can finally get my new Iphone.
The roadway is broken all to hell, definitely not "intact". Idiot newscasters looking to make it "eerie".
Tighter mooring line would be good or it could be setting off again.
I think they're looking for a spot on the ship to tie it to......
The tugs are still pushing her on the starboard side.they are working on securing her
WoW, like we couldn't see that for ourselves 🙄
Now Port is Making Temporary Fixes on the Ship it Upsets me Why didn't they do that in the first Place? Duh it shouldn't have left Port .
Dramatic footage.
Was the bridge open to cyclists and pedestrians?
NO. Just vehicle traffic.
those union workers sure work at one speed super slow.
The collapsed bridge could have and should have been removed far sooner, more efficiently, and far more safely for work crews by using diamond studded cable saws. Absolutely no excuse by those in responsible charge of the remival operations. They are either incompetent or the unions are directing the methods of operations. The trades are that corrupt in that area. I know firsthand.
Didn't the democrats pass a bill for structure
The one that would had been in time was in 2018 when Repubs canceled it and subsequent years after. Yes a bill was passed a few months ago, but you just want to make it their fault. It takes months for engineers to draw up plans to build out any idea and put it into place, get bids and actually do it. Had it been done 6 years ago, or even 3, this would not been as bad. The fault lies with the crew not asking for help from the dock master when their engines cut out the first time. Put blame where it belongs.
Its not a decision most crew members would be allowed to make. Even the captain would probably have to check with high- ups at HQ.
@@kriswingert1662 When the engine cut out a call went out for tugs, from the harbor pilot. But they were 3 miles away. Impossible for them to catch up.
