I've watched a lot of reviews on the Taurus g3c, all of them very favorable, I held a g2c in a pawnshop it felt nice in my hand , nicer than all of the other guns, I pick up my g3c today, thanks for the review
Taurus would not be on my shopping list a year ago but I bought one and I am so impressed with this gun I still can't believe how accurate it is. I love it.
The fact that they made the sights compatible with Glock was a smart move, Taurus has come a long way. This would be a great fist gun for alot of people just getting into firearms 👍

Thank you for your review sir. I am considering buying the Taurus G3c. I am 64 years old and i have been a 1911 and revolver guy for a long time. This will be my first striker fired handgun. My Local sporting goods store has the Taurus G3c for sale for $249.99, Taurus is offering a $25.00 mail in rebate. I do not carry concealed or otherwise. I enjoy target shooting at the range when my knees feel up to it. It just seems like a great deal for a well made handgun.
@@mdj300 Yep! I own Taurus and Canik. The Canik mags will work in the Taurus, but mine do not hold the slide open after the last round. So, when I load up my belt with magazines, I have them arranged to use all Taurus mags first. One Taurus mag in the gun, two on the belt, and two Canik mags on the belt. I don't normally load out that heavy except for big city trips, long distance trips, or during times of civil unrest. Usually just two mags.
Thanks for your excellent review of the Taurus G3C. I just picked up one a couple days ago and shot it at the range yesterday. It shoots great and is a good value.
Recently purchased two black G2C's (one went to family as a gift) and purchased a Taurus 856 .38 special six shooter in stainless matte finish a week or so back. Taurus has been making DAMN good guns for the past 30 years and have owned several semi autos and revolvers in that time----all were superior firearms. Looking at a Taurus 1911 in .45 ACP right now and considering buying it........
Hey I am about to sell our Taurus 1911, it wont feed Blazer Brass and I have a thousand rounds of the stuff. If you are going to buy one make sure you have something like federal white box instead. The extractor wont pull out certain ammo. I cant have guns that wont feed, its one thing to prefer a certain grain round but I need a gun that is brand agnostic, all of my bulk ammo is 45 230 grain.
Here in Indiana at Rural King you can still buy G2C for 202 dollars, G3 for 239 dollars, and G3C for 249, October 20 th. 2020 and was selling like hot cakes, bought G3 stainless for 259 dollars, done had the others but great gun's and still cheap around here don't know for how long.!!

I would like to see all sights come with some kind of distinction between the slide and the sights. I have to paint my front sights when the sights are all black to pick up the front sight.
TL;DR...I shoot good with it and all my homies have a G3c. Look, my Sig P365 is my EDC, but just picked up a brand new G3c because of major deal ($236 out the door, but only two mags). 250 rds ran so far and no malfunctions. Doesn't give me tender spots after long sessions. I am in love with this little thing. Chunkier than my P365 and I can't pocket conceal with it like my Sig. Weirdly long trigger pull too, but you quickly get used to it. It is perfectly concealable otherwise. Taurus is trying to make up ever since they moved manufacturing to the States.
What happened with Taurus is simple. The company was bought out several years ago by gun guys. The old regime was let go. They bought and retooled the Beretta factory in Brazil. They took the dollar figure they had prepared for advertising and instead lowered the prices across the board dramatically., banking on word of mouth. The new Taurus basically has nothing in common with the old days. A friend works p/t at a big sporting box store and will attest to the G2c being their biggest seller by far.
Thanks so much for the brief history. No wonder Taurus design and manufacturing have made a dramatic turnaround. I expect more amazing products to come. First, I would make a version of the G3c with No Thumb Safety, just like they did on the TX22.
@@_cal_techie until my new leather holster breaks in all the way, I am engaging the thumb safety. It's still a bit tight, and causes the slide to catch as I am holstering. I don't want to chance a malfunction, until the break in period is past.
I've been looking at the G2 and G3 guns for EDC and want to see some reliability numbers. I have a couple of guns in the 500-$900 range that I rotate for EDC and really don't see the need to risk losing one when all I need is something ultra reliable that fits my hand.
I think if they make it on .45cal it will compete with the big leagues CCW , it has the potential. I just bought the G3 from you guys and it's awesome.
Handgun barrels are made to last, on average, 5000 rounds. Rifle barrels about 10,000...chrome lined about 20k. Shooting cast bullets will greatly extend the life of your barrel.
Please don't confuse yourself and the viewers. Always mention the complete model, G3, G3C, G2C,...don't drop the "C". Aside from this, great review though; one of the best. Thank you!
taurus has come a long way. i switched frm a sccy cpx 2 to a taurus g2c for my every day carry. personally speaking i don't have any problem at all with the trigger on my g2c and do not see where others would, it's good as is. as far as the gc3 goes, aside from the cosmetic improvement of a better finish, it lacks the decent loaded chamber of the g2c, doesnt shoot any better and at a higher price tag, at this point and just in my personal opinion mind you, just doesnt justify the switch. the 3rd mag is a nice idea, but for the extra money id just buy a 3rd mag for the more tried and true g2c. not having shot one yet my mind could be changed, and i would like to have a full sized g3. on a side note, on feature i would like to see taurus come out with is a model with a full length slide rail in place of spots at the front an back.
I own the G3C. My 2 issues are I hate the way the trigger feels too much take up on the first initial pull in the single action stage. 2nd is i find myself hitting the mag release button from time to time an inadvertently dropping the mag. But i have hands on the large side. But really gd gun for the price point.
@@TheShootersBay Do notifications on websites, I put in about 12 different websites, got a hit on one the next day, bought it immediately, but it was out of stock 15 minutes after I got the email, so you gotta pull the trigger quick (no pun intended).
@@stanjelinek62 The G3 is a full sized gun. The G3C is a Compact gun (a little smaller for better concealed carry). The compact guns carry 12 rounds plus one in the chamber. The full sized guns carry more like 17 or 18 rounds, but the longer magazines can still be used in the smaller compact guns. All of the Taurus G2 and G3 guns have interchangeable magazines, and also will accept Sig p226 mags, as well as Canik mags. Canik mags come in a variety of sizes such as 15, 17, 18, 20 rounds and more with magazine extensions. The only issue with Canik mags is holding the slide open after the last round, but I personally never had any malfunctions with them.
I would like to make a suggestion sir. You know about the Good Samaritan who stopped that active shooter in the Mall in Indiana right. Eli Dickens stopped the killing by leaning against a pole for support and cover and he got 8 hits on the killer out of 10 shots fired from 30 to 40 yards. You know there are some antigun folks that are criticizing him for using his weapon to take this madman down. They say it was an impossible shot. Well here is my suggestion. When you are testing your handguns during your review conclude the test with the " Good Samaritan Challenge ". set a full sized Silhouette target out at 30 yards. Use a support to shoot with just like Eli did at the mall. Fire 10 shots and see how many you can put on the target. I think the antigun folks will find a well trained marksman will hit his mark far more often than they make their point.
I have the g2c. Works fine but my only complaint is that it’s still too big and too heavy to conceal imo. The ejection port developed some rust on it even when stored at room temp and the trigger isn’t that good but for $200 it still came with some nice options. The mags in particular are of good quality esp for the price
Should have shown the sights better, was glossed over. It appears to be a white dot on front sight with back sights being just a black notch. Great move to use Glock sight set-up. This is my next handgun. I have a PT 111 G2 for over 6 years, no failures. Only used brass cased name ammo. My carry ammo is the std pressure HST 124GR 9 mm bullets.
The best thing is that they got rid of that loaded chamber indicator thingy. So the slide can be effortlessly milled for almost any optic. They should make tacticooled version with threaded barrel and optic cut. FN 509 Subcompact Tactical costs ~1000$, so Taurus can offer gun as good for 1/3 of the price and own this market niche.
The best selling gun for many years is and has been the SIG Sauer P365. Look it up. I am not dismissing the Taurus G2 or G3c series and they may be your best selling gun (I would suspect because they are very affordable and a great value for the affordable category) - but nationwide in all distributors stats and E-tailors (just did a few lookups) has been the P365 series of guns (the P365 and P365XL with and without the Sig Romeo 0) The G3s has fixed sights (Glock compatible which means you can replace them easily with a wide variety of other sights) but no possibility of a red dot like the P365XL. You have to however give it to Taurus for coming out with a very affordable gun that hits the mark. There is something for everyone.
@@jungleno. Hello Jun. Correct - the SIG P365 has been around for nearly 3 years. If you ask ANY gun dealer what their best selling firearm has been in the past year or so, you will get the P365 Family. I own several S&W shield; but with all due respect to you and S&W. the shield family does not compare to the P365 Family. The P365 family gives me 12 or 15 rounds +1 in a form factor that is smallest than any other firearm out there (yes - I do own a Springfield Hellcat WITH optics) - P365XL, and P365XL with the Romeo Zero (0) optics and finally the P365 SAS. The accuracy of the P365XL with the Romeo optics that turns on automatically - giving me the SMALLEST CONCEAL possible form factor with the highest round count and the highest accuracy. In training - I have put so far 2600+ rounds through my P365 and P365XL without a SINGLE FAILURE. I cannot say that my experience with the shield has been the same. But I have derailed this conversation, and apologize for that (I sound like a Politician! LOL) - but seriously - from a SALES perspective - you are welcome to ask ANY gun range or FFL - my favorite FFL in Austin, TX even printed a Point Of Sale Report (I am friends with the owner) to show - the P365 is BY FAR eclipsing all others in its category and everything else. Nothing else comes close. Not to say that I don't love my S&W Shield series - I do and I just bought another one in fact. A C.O.R.E. and I am not impressed AT ALL. The tolerances on this gun as compared say to a SIG P229 Legion RXP is not even close. I just don't see - but I could be wrong and I have been several times before. My best to you and your family!

Estou aguardando no Brasil chegar G3 da Taurus pra fazer aquisição é porte da mesma.
Somos dois.
What?
@@_cal_techie why no thumb safety. I carry in condition 1
@@_cal_techie Hopefully customer service has improved as well. I have heard, but not experienced problems.
@@_cal_techie until my new leather holster breaks in all the way, I am engaging the thumb safety. It's still a bit tight, and causes the slide to catch as I am holstering. I don't want to chance a malfunction, until the break in period is past.
Try reaching them on the phone for support. It’s about impossible. After being on hold for an hour they will just disconnect you.
I hope KYGCO can resupply soon. I want one of these.
Nice review, thanks for the simplified review.
Hey you think that you can put the G3C trigger in the G2C
I've been looking at the G2 and G3 guns for EDC and want to see some reliability numbers. I have a couple of guns in the 500-$900 range that I rotate for EDC and really don't see the need to risk losing one when all I need is something ultra reliable that fits my hand.
My G2C has over 1k rounds with only 3 failures which was just bad ammo. Plain and simple.
My G3 has maybe 500 or so rounds with 0 failures.
I think if they make it on .45cal it will compete with the big leagues CCW , it has the potential. I just bought the G3 from you guys and it's awesome.
It a come in 40 cal to like the g2c
Itd be cool, but 45 also isnt carried a lot when you look across the board
Nice gun..nice review💕👍
how many rounds would you expect to shoot before the barrel wears? I was told a Glock barrel would last infinitely longer than a low budget Taurus.
Handgun barrels are made to last, on average, 5000 rounds. Rifle barrels about 10,000...chrome lined about 20k.
Shooting cast bullets will greatly extend the life of your barrel.
Thanks for the tip about the holsters👍🏻
3 mags.!! And Ruger still gives 1!
I received 3 mags with my SR9C. Jus saying.
Some shops steal one or two mags and then sell them back to you
Please don't confuse yourself and the viewers. Always mention the complete model, G3, G3C, G2C,...don't drop the "C". Aside from this, great review though; one of the best. Thank you!
3 mags, sold
First time shooting it.
Looks like this is not your first time.
Nice review 👍
taurus has come a long way. i switched frm a sccy cpx 2 to a taurus g2c for my every day carry. personally speaking i don't have any problem at all with the trigger on my g2c and do not see where others would, it's good as is. as far as the gc3 goes, aside from the cosmetic improvement of a better finish, it lacks the decent loaded chamber of the g2c, doesnt shoot any better and at a higher price tag, at this point and just in my personal opinion mind you, just doesnt justify the switch. the 3rd mag is a nice idea, but for the extra money id just buy a 3rd mag for the more tried and true g2c. not having shot one yet my mind could be changed, and i would like to have a full sized g3. on a side note, on feature i would like to see taurus come out with is a model with a full length slide rail in place of spots at the front an back.
I own the G3C. My 2 issues are I hate the way the trigger feels too much take up on the first initial pull in the single action stage. 2nd is i find myself hitting the mag release button from time to time an inadvertently dropping the mag. But i have hands on the large side. But really gd gun for the price point.
Where is your gun shop / store?
If you can get it! There's a run on guns and ammo again!
I don't foresee getting this until next year.
Man, slim pickings on any gun now, thanks to the riot's !
@@TheShootersBay Do notifications on websites, I put in about 12 different websites, got a hit on one the next day, bought it immediately, but it was out of stock 15 minutes after I got the email, so you gotta pull the trigger quick (no pun intended).
Got one last week at Rural King......$259
Everybody laughed at my prepping... they're not laughing now😁
Just picked mine up from my ffl. Now i have to find a range that is open...
I have the G2c it’s a great gun....
I have to have one in stainless sold my g2c stainless I need a upgrade.
I already have the G3 full size but I might still get me a g3c
There is no might, YEs sir I'm buying it!! I have the g2c and the G3.
@@powermix24 yeh I'm trying to play down my level of excitement....but yeh most likely I'll have one
I have a g3 and a g2c is it crazy I want a g3c now?
@@R005TERILLUSION Whats the difference from a g3 and a g3c??
You know about the Good Samaritan who stopped that
active shooter in the Mall in Indiana right. Eli Dickens stopped the killing by leaning against
a pole for support and cover and he got 8 hits on the killer out of 10 shots fired from 30 to 40 yards.
You know there are some antigun folks that are criticizing him for using his weapon to take this
madman down. They say it was an impossible shot. Well here is my suggestion. When you are
testing your handguns during your review conclude the test with the " Good Samaritan Challenge ".
set a full sized Silhouette target out at 30 yards. Use a support to shoot with just like Eli did at the mall.
Fire 10 shots and see how many you can put on the target. I think the antigun folks will find a well trained
marksman will hit his mark far more often than they make their point.
When will they be available?
Looks like Taurus is continuing to up their game
Been tryin to get this ever since this vid but hard to get during these crazy times would even settle for the g3 full size
Go Patrick! Happier New Year!
Just gotta wait for them to be back in stock now at kygunco
I wish they would be first to market with a striker decocker to make first shot double action that would be awesome!
DA/SA is out of Vogue. Would be nice for a carry gun without a safety.
Thinking of buying one as my first ever firearm what do you guys think !?
Get a revolver.
I have a canik sfx 18and 20 round mags and the mag work in the g2c and the g3
My g2c hasn't jammed. (One ftf after 500 rounds no clean.. was beyond dirty) Even fed hollows
taurus is getting the feel of the shooters right. they have the TX22, G3C and the 856. Even the new 22 lr revolver that they have is great.
Man. I have a G2C and just got a M&P 9 due to more sight options for my bad eyes. Wish I saw this video before.
I painted the sight dots on my G2c. Much better now.
Great Review! Great Gun!
Well spoken !
I have what I refer to as the Taurus Triad: G2 slim, G2 compact & G3.
They are all very good pistols.
How can you claim that? The 365 has only been out since January 2018.
Maybe you are confusing it with the S&W shield.
@@jungleno.
You say holsters are compatible with g3c if they work with the g2c? I think on the kydex holsters that the chamfers on the would make it so the g3c would not fit.
You mentioned g19 sights will work. Can you put g19 trijicon HD sights on it then?
That's basically what he said, but it never hurts to get reassurance.
Looks great. Thanks👍!
@Kygunco will the m+m industries M10-762P be back in stock anytime soon?
Got a G2C but it looks like I need it's new version. Bye bye money 😂

Now it's $300-$600 depending on the site. And the cheaper ones (0.50/rd) are always out if stock
I have 2 G2C'S and a G3. And the only complaint I have, is Taurus dosen't make the G3 in a 10mm. And how Kool would it be if Taurus would make a carbine that uses the same mags!!! Guess I can dream!!!
