- I have been riding Thunders for a very long time and had inverted mine in the past so I was excited to try these out! The link below is the wheelbase thread on slap! #skateboarding #curbs #curbskating #nbnumeric #slappy #thundertrucks #inverted

nice board, the trucks look good, love those grinds on that rail you did
Thank you!
I have multiple setups, But one is definitely an all around deal that gets skated the most with Thunder light 151s. I inverted the kingpin and have loved those trucks, but at 210lbs, I wheel bite a bit. I tried the slappy inverted hollows, and while I love them for curb skating, the added height and already squirrely nature just made it harder. Really hoping to try these at some point.
I definitely feel you on that! I used to weigh 210 up until a few months ago so wheelbite was definitely a thing. If I were you I’d try either these or the team hollows. The extra height of the cast baseplate definitely helped me out
Get some risers and longer bolts. Might help your Ollie’s too.
I like purple too, I like the venture high bushings
Me too brother! They always look fresh!
It's awesome to have inverted kingpin on trucks that are not high. I wish they make such for Venture lows because they are amazing, just need more kingpin clearance.
Thanks for the review and insights, good that Thunder fans are having more options and I hope that they are not loosening over time like Indys.
I'm curious if these bushings are the same dimensions as regular Thunder bushings.
I’ll take them out and check but it looks like the dimensions are the exact same. And I haven’t noticed any loosening so far so that’s good!
crazy that thunder took so long to do this considering they've been having hexbeds in their team baseplates since like forever. i put kreper inverted kingpins in a set of thunder 148s a few months back while in a madness phase of inverting kingpins across all my completes aces, indys and finally a thunder lol
lol my thoughts exactly! I had been putting the OG pink label Krux pins in mine for a good while
Yo - nice n speaking of trucks…nice 1st Gen Tacoma in the background.
Haha the Taco is the truth!
The purple bushings in my venture v-lights did the exact same thing. Definitely like to here your thoughts on the Real easy rider board.
These are even softer feeling than those. It’s wild lol. I’ll do a vid on that next!
I wish they would either make these in a 151 and 161or make just the baseplate available I like riding bigger boards and a 149 just doesn't cut it
Just take the hangers off of your 151 or 161 and put them on these plates.
I used to only skate thunders when I found out Chris Cole skated them
Man you gotta give these ones a shot! So good!
0:02 pause "nuts".
Hahahahahahaha
I've been on thunders for most of my life but Slappys are great in every way except for the height. I can't wait until the lows come out. Have you gotten a chance to try them out?
I need those 👍
@@SkateboardingShorts94 they are really good bro! Still no problems at all!
Nice video man! I have the normal Thunder lights on my board and I’m thinking of getting this Thunder inverted or the Slappy inverted. What do you recommend me? I do a lot of feeble and smiths and also a lot of slappy curbs 🤔
That’s a tough one! For curbs slappy trucks will most likely last longer and have a better turn. Also they do have a tad more kingpin clearance. But if you are used to thunder and like the way they turn and pinch then I’d say go that route.
Was about to buy that exact same board
It’s so good bro!
@@eastcoastcurbkiller G069 is the go too shape, probably gonna stick some rails on it for the curbs
@@TNMPod I will probably start doing the same! I am on a toy machine 8.25 for the curbs right now
I love engaging this engaging account. How do they engage a feeble grind?
Probably the most engaging feeble grinds you will ever engage. Even more engaging if engaged at the Venice curbs
@@eastcoastcurbkiller you should engage a flight here and we can engage in a kiss.
Can you swap the kingpin out? With titanium trucks, i really want to try these out
@@mrhogei you can throw the titanium hangers on these plates and it’ll still be really light
@@eastcoastcurbkiller thanks man, i only go titaniums indys or thunders, i guess when hanger get shredded to the core i swap the new one
@@mrhogei yeah bro no problem!
What wheels are those… thought you preferred the classic shape 😅
These are the standard conical spitfires. I don’t like a super rounded edge typically
Do you have to take your trucks off if you swap out bushings? Or will the nut stay in there
The nut will stay where it’s at. So you just take the kingpin off, swap the bushings, and you’re good to go!
Did they get loose? Wanna buy a pair of those, but if they get loose i wont. My indy mids get loose every time i skated them.
@@SleethXDive nope not at all! About a week and a half in now
@@eastcoastcurbkiller thanks bro
@@SleethXDive no problem!
@@eastcoastcurbkiller what about now? Still tight? Or became loose?
@@SleethXDive still tight! Haven’t loosened at all
No more Ventures?
Haven’t been skating those for a good bit brother
@@eastcoastcurbkiller been out of the RUclips's for a while, what made you ditch them?
@@KarstenThoughts they were kinda throwing off some of my tricks a bit so I went back to thunders for my normal board and slappys for my curb board
are those the westgate new balance 508?
These are the 574 vulcs! Great shoe!
@@eastcoastcurbkiller i'm not generally crazy about vulcs. i've not tried any new balance skate shoes, but my issued gym/running shoes in the navy were new balance and i liked them. i liked the look of the westgates, they kinda have the indoor soccer shoe look that is often also popular in skating. i just think they look nice as a casual shoe, maybe slimmer than i'd personally like for skating.
@@diplenski if I were you I’d try the 440 v2. Probably the best cupsole I’ve ever skated!! I was issued NB’s in the coast guard as well so I feel you lol
@@eastcoastcurbkiller those actually look pretty nice, both low and high top
@@diplenski I’d get the lows to try first. I have had probably 5 pairs now lol. So damn good. Great boardfeel and grip but plenty of protection
