Sam. I have struggled with trying to make bread for YEARS! I had pretty much decided it was a lost cause. Then I tried your recipe. I did use my KitchenAid and the dough hook attachment, but this bread turned out perfect! I can't believe it. Your recipe and very clear directions deserve all the credit. Thank you for your great recipes and encouraging guidance. Gee, I actually succeeded in making an eatable loaf of bread. THANK YOU!
I'm not sure where you came from, but one day late last year, one of your videos popped up in my feed. Since then, I have made many of your recipes. I started with the cheesecake and now I'm in the "I'm very intimidated" category which is the yeast recipes. My family loved the overnight cinnamon rolls...BIG HiT!!! This is the first time I've attempted to bake bread and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. I've found that you are my "go to" when searching recipes! Thanks a million for the helpful videos!!!! Have a great 2024!!!
Love the recipe. The loaf baked evenly, sliced nicely, no crumbs. It's simple. It doesn't require a mixer, so no need to clean the mixer, bowl, dough hook. Made a loaf last night, shared it with neighbors. Made it today, it's in the large bowl on the first rise. The spatula you use is key. Slightly concave on one side, sturdy, best tool for vigorous mixing of this dough. Thank you. p.s. I download thousands of recipes. Yours' are my favourite. 💙🌵
Wow! I sorta fell into this video via Instagram and I'm glad I did. For the first time, I understand how to mix yeast/sugar/water by hand (usually use a mixer) , how to fold a bread into a shape, what kneading looks like and finally the stages of bread rising. After 10 years of bread and pastry baking, I feel I have learned so much from you! Thank you.
This looks delicious, Sam. You've shown how easy it is to prepare the dough. So many people think it is very hard work that requires a big mixer. Thanks for showing this!
I have tried several different recipes for bread, and this one tops them all. Only minor change is less salt, half the amount. Otherwise, its delicious. I'm saving this recipe.
This recipe is awesome! I used AP flour and it came out with a crispy crust and super soft inside. Toasted beautifully. This wil be my go to recipe for bread. Thank you!!
I just sliced mine after cooking it and OMG!! It looks like a pro gifted it to me got out of the oven!! wow wow I am so excited to finally have a good successful recipe, wish I could post a pic! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
So awesome to finally see you making some bread. I remember back when you were too intimidated to touch anything involving yeast. That reminds me, I haven't made any bread in a while. I'll have to give yours a try. It looks absolutely delicious :)
Beautiful bread! I appreciate that you did it by hand too. I don't have a stand mixer so it's always nice to see that you can still get great results without one. It just takes some elbow grease. lol
Thanks so much! I love your recipes and have made a few of them. They’re easy to follow and taste so good. Gonna try this bread recipe. I don’t have a stand mixer so it’s nice that you do recipes that don’t require one.
My husband agrees completely! He won't eat the heel from the store but if I make a homemade bread and I don't watch him he'll just eat the crust off of it. 🤣
This was by far the easiest recipe for bread that I could find. My bread turned out tasting very plain - almost bitter. I’m sure there’s something I did wrong. Once the dough was in the pan, instead of letting it sit for 45 minutes.....it accidentally sat for 3 hours. I’m not sure if that messed with the taste or it was something else I did!
I really want to make this recipe I love so many of your recipes but I only have fast rising instant yeast can I use it and what steps do I need to change
I’m not sure what I did wrong. I followed all the steps. It looked beautiful. When I cut it the first piece was great. From then on it had a giant tunnel down the inside. I looked up on the internet and it said you probably didn’t get all the air out. But I did exactly as you said. Any idea what I did wrong ? I was so proud of it. And me lol
@@SugarSpunRun the first two pieces I cut were perfect.. it was like this tunnel down the middle after that. it was a pretty brown color and looked beautiful.. I was so happy when I cut the first two pieces.. it went downhill from there though lol.. I was quite disappointed and proud of myself.. Thanks for your inspiration. I will try again..maybe I didnt get all the air out of the dough?
I’m in the process of making the bread now and I have questions. I have the envelopes yeast like you I stored in the refrigerator the expiration date on them isn’t until August 2020, I used them out of the refrigerator, my water-milk was at the right temperature it seem like my dough is not raising very much after about 80 minutes.
Do you know how much longer to cook it with a glass pan? Just used this recipe with a glass pan and it wasn’t cooked in the middle. That makes sense now.
i love your recipes, but i wish you would do granola bars or nut bars!! i know your recipes i have tried most and have never failed me. im really tired of trying other that don't put recipes up that have been tested for the best results.

I'm so glad we've found each other! I'm so glad you are enjoying all of the recipes and being able to conquer some fears in the baking world. :)
I have been making this bread recipe for the last month. The procedures are very simple. Thank you for this recipe.

This recipe is perfect! I use honey instead of sugar and 1/2 cup Milk and 1 cup of water. I use my stand mixer. Thanks for the recipe!

There’s nothing like fresh warm bread. 😊😊
I LOVE THE CRUST...MY FAVORITE ...TOAST AND BLACK RASPBERRY JAM...I love the heel!
I’ve been getting a lot of that. I guess I’m in the minority. I had no idea!
So awesome to finally see you making some bread. I remember back when you were too intimidated to touch anything involving yeast. That reminds me, I haven't made any bread in a while. I'll have to give yours a try. It looks absolutely delicious :)
There have been many many failures with yeast. 😂😂 I’m getting there though, sometimes it just takes a little practice. 😊

I made your bread recipe, and it was the best. Rose higher than any bread I have ever made. THANK YOU!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much! :)
I loved your video! So easy to follow your directions! Definitely going to try your recipe ❤️
I hope you love it! 😊
Made this bread today, it was amazing !
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Very similar to my own bread, a very good recipe, thanks
It's soooo good! :)
So good! Your recipes have blessed my family and I am thankful to have discovered it.
This is so wonderful to hear! Thank you for trying my recipes!!
I love your recepes have tried some so good
Thank you! :)
Turns out beautifully each and every time - great recipe!
Thanks so much 😊
Love it came out amazing this was first time in I've made bread ...
Turned out great 👍 thank you
You’re welcome! 😊
I like the heel of the bread, great for toasting with butter and honey.😋😉😀🍞
Ooo honey and butter is a great combination. 😊😊
Thanks for sharing. I'll definitely try it.
I hope you love it! 😊
I have never been successful at making bread… and yet… my loaf came out AWESOME
thanks
That’s awesome!! I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😊😊
Love this recipe. 🥰
Thank you 😋
Thanks for your recipes,we are enjoying .
Glad you like them!
My favorite part of homemade bread is the heel! I don't eat it from store bought bread though.
My husband agrees completely! He won't eat the heel from the store but if I make a homemade bread and I don't watch him he'll just eat the crust off of it. 🤣
Excellent recipe. Sam, you need a good bread knife. I humbly suggest the Chicago Cutlry bread knife. You can find it on Amazon.
I could definitely use a good bread knife! I'll have to see what I can find. :)
This looks very easy. Thank you.
You’re welcome 😊
I’ve been intimidated by making homemade bread forever. I’m going to try this recipe. Fingers crossed!
You can do it!
It works! It came out exactly like her and my kids loved it (I DID TOO!)

Letting it overproof will definitely mess with the texture. I’m sorry😔
Thanks for share the ricpes
You are welcome! I appreciate your support. :)
I really want to make this recipe I love so many of your recipes but I only have fast rising instant yeast can I use it and what steps do I need to change
You can use instant yeast without any changes to the recipe. :)
Love that homemade bread….😋
It's soooo good! :)

Hi Sophie! Was it collapsed and doughy in the center? It sounds like it may have just needed more time in the oven :(
@@SugarSpunRun the first two pieces I cut were perfect.. it was like this tunnel down the middle after that. it was a pretty brown color and looked beautiful.. Love homemade bread 🍞 i love it out of the oven while its hot
That looks so good
Awesome 👍🏾👍🏾. Thanks
This is great! Whole wheat bread next, please!!
I'll add it to my list. :)
Looks delicious 😋
Thank you 😋
The heel is he best

Did your yeast foam? And did you cover it in a warm place
Can u double the recipe and have it still work our
I haven't tried it personally, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. :)
Can you PLEASE do a kto bread recipe? Every single one that I've tried has been inedible.
I am assuming you meant keto here? Unfortunately I don't have one and I'm not familiar enough with it to conquer it. :(
My wife was recently told to lay off the plain white bread,, do you have a more wholesome alternative?
You can always substitute a bit of the flour (about 1- 1 ½ cups/125-190g) for wheat flour to make wheat bread 😊
I'm trying this right now wish me luck
You're going to do great!
Turned out very good
is the qty mentioned is for 2 cup of flour or 4 cups of flour
You will need 4-5 cups ultimately for this recipe. 😊
Sourdough bread please
I’ll put it on my list to do. 😊
What if all I have is a glass pan. Can I use it? And does the temp of the oven have to be changed if I use glass?
You can use a glass pan. It won’t change the temperature but the time may be a little different
Longer or shorter bake time?
Love the recipe.I have instant dry yeast. How much do I need to use to make a bread?
can i use oil instead of butter
Yes oil will work. I prefer the taste the butter adds.😊
ok, thank you.
Can I use a glass pan?
You can use glass, it may just take a bit longer to cook. 😊
Do you know how much longer to cook it with a glass pan? Just used this recipe with a glass pan and it wasn’t cooked in the middle. That makes sense now.
The only problem with this recipe is that I wanted to eat the entire loaf by myself.
🤣 I definitely know how that goes! :)
The butt end of the bread is the best part!
i love your recipes, but i wish you would do granola bars or nut bars!! i know your recipes i have tried most and have never failed me. im really tired of trying other that don't put recipes up that have been tested for the best results.
Again first👍
Sam could teach us, but she'd have to charge.
LMFAO remind me again about how you're making the dough by hand. 😂
I’m not sure what you mean.
I used Cake Flour
Well how did it turn out? That’s not the best flour for bread. Hopefully you still enjoyed it.😊
@@SugarSpunRun it was ok
Made those today and they were so so so good I dont think I can eat store bread anymore
Ps: the heal part was my favorite 😎
Homemade is just so much better if you ask me. 😊
