I think you need to be sitted on the seat for it to work. Same way the safetybelt beeping works. i.e (you have to be sit and press the break peddle) for the door to close. unless theres some weight on the seat, well too bad for you :D

Free maintenance for 3yrs/36k miles is included. after that basic maintenance (oil, filters & rotation, basic inspection) is $360 at my local dealer. could be better, could be worse. my biggest critique, there needs to be more Genesis dealerships. Ever having to deal with the Hyundai service department was a nightmare. Thankfully they just finished the Genesis dealership near me so now i don’t have to deal with Hyundai dealerships. as far as resale value goes - i’m afraid to check 😂 my understanding is that it’s below average but could be worse. overall tho 9/10 for me. i would buy another and would recommend over any japanese luxury brand in terms of style and luxury. and would recommend over any german luxury brand in terms of reliability and cost of ownership. Mazda or Genesis are the only car brands i will drive from now on.

I had a Kia Rio for 5 yrs with zero issues. I credit it for saving my life. I literally walked away from a head on collision without a scratch. Other than the one on my nose from the airbag. Hell! Even my baseball cap stayed on my head. Those cars are made extremely well. Trust me, I was completely shocked when I saw how mangled the Kia was. Knowing I never went to the hospital after the accident.
@@TheNINDLE I work at hyundai and will say genensis motors and parts are completely different designs and quality usage. Motors in the genesis last long term, the only downfall to then is electronics which is most cars these days. But the V8s and V6s are super reliable. Basically the two motors weve gotten right in terms of reliability. And the quality is top notch, napa leather standard like most luxury brands, has every feature most luxury brands have, same quality for less price and backed by a decent warranty.

I had 2015 Genesis 5.0 Ultimate for a few years. That car was ahead of its time. Genesis are made for people that are confident in themselves and don’t need a big name badge on their ride.
I had a 2012 3.8sedan. Went from Washington down to Palm Springs CA, and then across to Virginia with absolutely no issues, put 20k (70k-93k)miles on it in less than a year before it got totalled by a hit n run. They're a great cheap reliable car.

Had a 2015 Hyundai Equis Signature which is made like a s500 Benz on the inside but the motor locked up at 14,980 miles. Only drove it out of state, kept garaged and well maintained. Currently have a 2017 Kia Sorento with 51,000 miles same thing.....locked motor. Kia/Hyundai is the same company and I wouldn't drive another one of their vehicles if it was free. Although they have decent warranties you catch hell getting them to honor their own stuff. Too much of a hassle and headache. I'll stick with Nissan, Honda/Acura,Toyota/Lexus or Chevy😊.
This car oozes luxury when you look at it. Saw one of these outside a five star hotel in Lucerne, Switzerland. It was parked prominently for everyone to see and they put a Bentley somewhere in the back. I'm still having a hard time trying to wrap my head around just how far Hyundai has come.

I owned the very 1st Genesis made. Well I owned the car that they built on to make the 1st Genesis. It was the 2011 Sonata 2.0 turbo. That engine is the engine they put in the 1st Genesis they ever built which was in 2013 or 2014. These cars have come a LLOOONNNNGGGGG way since then. I wish I still had that car.
I sat in a genesis at the dealers back in 2013,it’s very luxurious. I was so impressed, a far different experience than any other car I’ve rode or driven. True luxury.

quality control and maintenance costs is why people prefer Honda, Acura, Toyota, and Lexus. I've heard lots of stories about Kia cars blowing out after 30k or even 65k miles

I think the new bmw 7 series and Mercedes s class maybach have it too. Standard on the bmw but option on the regular s class and probably standard on maybach (not sure about the latter)
