You end up paying EMIs for 20-25 years and become limited to one location, which hinders your growth (you might be hesitant to relocate for a better job). Instead, by continuing to rent, you have the freedom to move to a better apartment in a superior location, even with a 10-15% increase in rent. Furthermore, should a better opportunity arise or a city change become necessary, you won't hesitate to make the switch.

Yes. that is the better option in Bangalore. You see balcony, swimming pool etc etc.. nothing is worth if you don't have a breathing space outside your house.. Bangalore is the worst place to walk and move around.. Its too bad condition and a completely failed city administration.

While in B'lore, Vishal needs to ask tenants/ owners abt water availability. Most high rise bldgs have water shortage. Plus Electricity not being there on n off thru the day. Infact many houses across Blore get water on daily basis only by way of water tankers.
Next important question is how much extra amount the house owner has told they would take for cleaning the house on the renter's exit. Usually this amount is 1 month additional rent which is deducted from the deposit amount

Renting is a better option than buying a house if you want to live a comfortable luxurious life, it might not be economical. Even those who can afford to buy a property , will buy a house but not live in it, most of them still live in rent even though they own a house. I remember my friend paying 5 lakh rs rent, even though he owns couple of properties in Bangalore, the reason is because the properties are outside city and since the city has no skyscrapers and roads are not well designed to handle large scale traffic, it is a real problem and rents are going high for the apartments close to center of the city. Shanghai has a population of 26 million, and bangalore has half of that, that is the city by which bangalore should be compared with not with San francisco which has just 1 million population. There is lack of civic infrastructure in Bengaluru, and not just Bengaluru, India as a whole country lacks civic infrastructure and good city planning, I bet most of the Indians don't know shit about science of city planning, because everyone wants to be software engineer or a doctor in India and also Indian colleges produce low quality civil engineers, so nothing is going to change in future as well, it is only going to get even worse than current to the point where it will be impossible to use roads.

There are lots of land area in rest of India in other cities and towns, when IT companies start spreading out their office into different locations, there will be not many left to pay such huge rents in these hot cities
Nice Location, stayed in Bellandur for almost 6 years, Life is easy if you can avoid peak time traffic. Good Society, Best part they missed telling is its just behind Columbia Asia hospital and double tree by Hilton.

I think the math is simple. If you are from northern part of India prefer to settle in Delhi NCR, Mumbai or Pune. And if you are from southern India prefer to settle in Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata. I decided to settle in former cities so that I can go to my home town using train and car whenever I want. Staying close to places where you originated from is always better.

The real Bengaluru lies in Basavangudi, Malleshwaram, Jayanagar, Sheshadripuram, SHivajinagara, etc. These high rises and apartments are shallow and don't represent the real Bengaluru.
Agreed but bangalore being silicon valley of India has majority renting population of techies only I think. Locals won't be living in rented houses I believe and tenants usually are folks who came to the city from other parts of the country. Show name afterall is 'The TENANT' 🙂

It was an individual house and the entire stretch(cant remember the Cross name/num) had like 20 houses. We were the only tenants rest were all owners staying from last few generations. So that was my reference point & JP Nagar I thought was one of the older areas

The Tenant should have some variety and visit some old bangalore hubs like Malleshwaram, Vijaynagar, Jaynagar, Rajajinagar etc. The audience would also like to see tenants living there and their point of views on how these places compare to the glitzy ones shown in every other episode which is quite boring now.

I'm a Vittal Mallya Road guy as that was my first locality but Koramangala is my home now, both are top 2 in Bangalore, Koramangala being no.1, rest are gramagalu.
They both seem to be fun and positive people!

20:00 - Yes, my friend - it is controversial and it is NOT TRUE. Bangalore definitely has the worst traffic in India, closest to it would be Mumbai. I was pleasantly surprised with the Delhi traffic actually because it isn’t remotely as close to the hell in Bangalore or Mumbai. The pollution in all these other big cities have also caught up - so no clean air anywhere. Except that lake area! Cheers!

As someone who has grown up in Bangalore since my primary school days, I absolutely don't like the direction this city is heading towards, especially w.r.t traffic, rental and general quality of life. This city was once a retired person's paradise with roads covered with trees on either side, lakes and lush gardens and temperture not exceeding 28 degrees in the summer.
Bangalore was never designed to take this much influx of people. I hope with the metro connectivity, outer parts of Bangalore are industralised, create SEZ, and techparks that people can spread out creating an even distribution.

They can use the monthly rent of Rs-60000 to pay house loan of Rs-65 lakhs at 9.55% for 20 years. Start investing, renting is only temporary. This couple can easily buy 1 crore apartment with some downpayment. They are wasting that oppertunity in their working age.

Infrastructure wise Bengaluru is as bad as any part of Indian or major cities. This western way of development is simply not sustainable in long term.

While our Mangalyan/chandrayan-3-ISRO scientists women with mangal sutra, bindi, saree are barbaric conservative people are "Not going forward anywhere" ?? Shes giving wrong picture about Bangalore. In many societies in sarjapur, bellandur, marathahalli, we had these chaddi-bachelors regularly creating loud noise on weekends making difficult for other families. From society we Police complained & booked them "Under noise pollution" and "public nuisance". Local police are generally traditional, old-school conservative, scolded & further booked bachelor guys + staying with girl under various unpleaseant sections and after which they were VACATED from society. Inside homes People can LIVE as they please, but in public place where kids, families are there they should behave & dress decently !!!

EMI would be 1L+ . House cost would easily be 1.3-1.5cr+, that's one of the primary reasons people prefer renting until they are sure of where to settle.
Mantri Flora 3BHK apartments are listed for resale for around Rs. 1.3 to 1.5 crores. Even when they launched the project back in 2006, they were quoting Rs. 60 to Rs. 70 lakhs for 3BHK.

Title is misleading - The fact is locals made it San Francisco and hence people migrated. There are different types of native or locals in any city. Locals need not mean traditional sub groups. SM Krishna put ring roads, Narayan Murthy brought IT, and a lot of mnc employees were modern locals at that time. It's later PPL started migrating because they can find good jobs. Nobody migrates to an underdeveloped city and remake it. Use your common sense before taking credit for someone else's hardwork.

Traffic in Blore can be hell in many parts of Blore. Most roads are narrow & traffic signals lack. Blore is flush wt 2 wheelers & these just move into gaps between vehicles causing worse traffic congestion.
Same story across all major cities. Have seen even more horror jams in Delhi and Mumbai

The roads in Bengaluru are filled with huge trees and here we don't usually broaden roads by cutting trees.

But anyways inspite of narrow roads and traffic companies prefer Bengaluru over NCR and other cities.
Its also about the social environment and local environment which is not there in other cities particular BC MC NCR.

Traffic is getting horrible day by day as a kannadiga only saying this need speed up metro work alot. Now rents and prices of houses are comparable to US as well that is bad.

This is hardly the picture for 99.9% of Indians. They could be spending about 1-1.2L a month. Also since none of us here know these people, can't really comment on other aspects of their life and their finances. Overall, they are living a peaceful life from the looks of it.
But don't assume that this is how people live their lives in India. Like everything about India there is a large diversity in that as well. Couples in Bangalore could be both struggling and living well. This couple seems to be on the better side of things.

Its because all the IT companies have set up their campuses in bangalore due to which people from north india are forced to work here with no choice. If companies could be set up in other parts of the country then definitely there wont be any problem with rents. Tcs has more than 10 offices alone in Bangalore 😂😂, I dont understood why do these service based companies set up all their campuses only in bangalore, why not in MP, chattisgarh. But sorry they want to destroy bangalore with inflation and rsising costs.
Karnataka and Hyderabad have IT parks with Tax SOPs which are absent in other states.
Add to that , these 2 have the highest experiences IT talent adds to the competitive advantage.

60k is cheap ,i stay in bellandur and 3bhk with good builder will easily go for 80 to 90k

It is through social media I have come to understand the hostility (sometimes bordering on hatred ) that South Indians have towards people from the North. Everyday I read something anti- North Indians. Whatever the reasons I wonder how can we be loyal to a country if we dislike most of its citizens.
As a south Indian, my experience has been pretty bad during my years in Delhi. Also, north Indians treat people from the North East poorly. Girls from NE are called chinkis and cat calling is a norm in the North. So, northies shouldn't really e complaining about southies.
