Hey everyone welcome back to my channel we're back with another ranking video! I'm sure you guys have noticed that in the past few weeks a lot of youtubers who had previously left the platform due to controversies have been making their way back online almost all at the same time lol. We're talking David Dobrik, Gabbie Hanna, James Charles, Tati Westbrook, Tana Mongeau, Dream, Trisha Paytas and even surprisingly Shane Dawson is laying the groundwork for his return too.
I thought it was pretty interesting that most of them chose to come back within weeks or even days of each other and it got me thinking that it could be an opportunity for a ranking video. So today we're going to be ranking youtuber comebacks! I mention this in the video but I want to put it here as well, this video isn't meant to rank the things that caused these youtubers to have their downfall, i'll just be ranking their ability to come back from it! Some of these come backs are a bit older but I wanted to include them since I feel like they were important to mention/rank rather than just talking about the most recent comebacks (but of course we cover those too).

in all seriousness, david dobrik being able to come back is very very bad. he was complicit in someone getting traumatized for live, and this sets an example for other people who were unsure if they could get away with it beforehand. they now know they can.
He was also involved in an accident that almost killed his "friend", so

The funniest thing is that dream DID admit to cheating, and barely anyone gave a shit! He said he had a modpack installed for videos he does and forgot to remove it before his speedrun
i mean, i think you said it right there; he had installed it for videos and forgot to remove it. it was an accident, so his fanbase accepted that and forgave. those that weren't upset in the first place just didn't care about that side of his content anyway, bc a lot like watching him interact with his friends. i myself like to watch dream, but i don't care much about his speedruns. i prefer the manhunts and just watching him fool around, yknow? /positive :)

Yeah he originally said he didn’t cheat bc he didn’t realize the mod was still on, but when he did find out he’d been playing with the mod on he apologized and admitted he “cheated”, or so the story goes 🤷♀️

Normally ppl are removed from speedrunning if they cheat, and he did that long ago. I understand that it is a bad thing to do, but like at this point, he doesnt speedrun anymore and has moved on. Also at the end of the day, his run was removed, he has moved on and i think it just weird to bring it up when alot of ppl do this. Though im not a THAT big of a dream fan, i dont rlly watch him, i prefer ranboo,tubbo etc so maybe im wrong.
@@galvexy Usually people do not let it go tbh but that is admittedly often for people who dont do much outside of speedrunning. I think for a lot of people, his willingness to cheat in speedrunning speaks to a deep notion about his character, and the notion many fans express that "its just speedrunning it doesnt matter" is kind of disrespectful to an entire sport and community. Personally I cant really look at Dream the same way as I used to after it and I think many are the same. The man has gained like 10 mil subscribers since it happened so its obvious he hasnt really been held accountable in any logistical way so idk I dont think he needs people to defend him for bringing it up lmao

the fact that david dobrik still has a platform after what he did is disgusting
right, and people defend him by saying that he had no control over what happened to the victims when he literally facilitated and set up the meetings and knew what was happening the entire time. that's like if I brought a r*pist to my house, brought a girl over, got her drunk, then acted like I didn't know what was happening when he took her to his room. (not to mention how alarming it is that he seemingly doesn't understand what consent is)
Logan too. He straight up used a person’s suicide for views which was traumatic for not only the person’s family but also Asian people and anyone who has contemplated suicide. Honestly, i think jeffree star is more of a “go girl give us nothing” because everyone thinks he’s such an icon but he’s so low energy
Karl Jobst has a really good video on Dream’s confession to cheating. Dream never confessed to it on RUclips, so I don’t blame Casey for not knowing.
But basically he posted a Pastebin saying that the person who helps make plugins for his Manhunt videos had modified the plugin they used and didn’t tell Dream about it because he didn’t know it would make it usable outside a multiplayer server.
The conclusion of the video was essentially that the scenario is definitely plausible and that it’s very likely that he’s telling the truth about not thinking he cheated. But also that he handled the situation really badly and bent the truth on several occasions.
I was thinking of that video, too! It's a great watch, and I always appreciate someone who can make a nuanced take on drama.
i think i can believe that he didnt know he cheated at the time but i can never look at him the same way after this. his response was so childish and nonsensical .. and his fanbase harassing the mods and calling them liars pissed me off greatly

Yeah, benefit of doubt to whether he did it by accident or not, but how him and his stanbase handled it was absolutely piss poor. Like someone else said, if he can hire a mathematics professor, he should hire a PR team to vet any tweet he makes to stop getting roped into pointless drama because both the stans and the antis are annoying asf rn
@@tarotsushima3332 I’ve heard speculation that he hired a PR team because he took “dream Stan supremacy (unless you’re toxic)” out of his bio and made a statement on the racism in his fanbase. I think Karl said it best, that having a large fanbase doesn’t automatically give you the maturity to handle it. I just hope that he can find someone to give him some perspective, you can’t really expect his friends to keep him in line.

Laura and Manny are two creators who actually put in the work to better themselves. Every time I see something of them they always care for others. Laura with her adopted nice and Manny always hyping up smaller creators in their RUclips comments.

I keep hearing the Christmas season makes the most money with ads and they might have their own stuff to sell.
This is why I always roll my eyes when people whine about cancel culture because these people always come back.

people talk about it like it's such a huge and influential thing but almost ever 'celebrity' has been cancelled and come back and it has been forgotten about
Domino effect of comebacks. I swear they’re all hoping that someone with a worse “cancellation” will overshadow their mess so when they both come back everyone is focused on the one who did worse.
The go girl give us nothing actually almost killed me. I choked on soda when you said it and my arrival to haven would had been glorious.
Though I’m not a fan of Logan, I keep hearing that he’s changed as a person. It’s nice to see someone ACTUALLY reflect on their past actions and change. He understood that getting views and fame took over his entire mindset, so seeing him go into his own little corner with different content and not make any trouble is rlly nice.
Yeah I really don't like him, (I was never in his audience range and I just dont really like the energy in his vids) but it honestly seems like his recent content has become a lot more toned-down and less like the crazy stunts he used to pull just to get views. @@caseyaonso4270 OMG I can't believe you replied to my comment :) you're welcome! and yes r/conspiracies has so many weird things/ good ones but in line with your RUclips/internet exploration theme: talking about how keyboard microphones are "always live" or that Facebook "purposefully sabotages relationships" because drama is good for business, 5g (although weirdly political), you could rank theories on believability/outlandishness, it would also be interesting to talk about confirmation bias or how theories are spread, a different, kinda funny route would be celebrities that have been supposedly replaced by lookalikes. I think people would eat that up as content. hope you find something interesting! keep up the awesome content and I hope you're doing well

i know it's a little thing (and the bar is so low) but thank you for using they/them pronouns for trisha! i see so many people misgendering them. no matter how awful someone is, they don't deserve to be misgendered. edit: lots of people have been saying trisha also uses she/her pronouns as well. I didn't know that and I'm sorry for wrongly accusing people of misgendering her.

@@nope-ve9ks apparently Trisha has said that only close friends and family can use she/her for them. I know it’s weird to have she/her publicly in that case, but they do strongly prefer they/them
