    How can all you people not like these headlights they are so much better than the old headlights , I Don’t see how they look out of place either , they give the bike a modern aggressive look I think there brilliant

    • @williamlu4394
      @williamlu4394 7 месяцев назад

      These days it's all about chasing trends and conforming to the majority, so much so that the dealer told me about 90% of their new bike purchases are without a test ride, which I think is ridiculous; it's probably just how much social media content is out there for specific models. And that's why most people would probably prefer an MT07 over this Triumph. I just upgraded from the prior to the latter a couple days ago, and the difference in handling, holding line, suspension etc. are astounding in the best way possible.

    Nice review! I guess aesthetics is really a personal thing. Me personally really love the look of those headlights, it adds to that aggressive stance of the bike, which is inline with the creases on the fuel tank. The protruding headlights make the bike look "longer" and thus lighter. I imagine it will not appear as a "light bike" if it had the same headlights as the Trident.

    I had a second hand 2018 one of these. I had it derestricted to 94 BHP.
    The derestriction made quite a bit of difference above 6500 rpm. Below 6500 rpm their really wasn't much difference.
    It was pretty good, I was quite happy.
    The problem was I then had a test ride of a 2020 Speed Triple RS , with a bucket load more torque and much better sound and I was smitten. So my Striple 660 got traded in for a Speed Triple RS 1050cc. At the time I did also test ride a Striple 765 RS, yes that was better than the Striple 660 at 94 BHP, but it just didn't have the mass of low down torque I love.
    My top tip, is don't test ride bikes you might be smitten with, they'll only make you unhappy with your current one !
    Will I test ride the new 2021 Speed Triple RS 1160 ? I'm not sure, I've spent my money !
    One thing that gets me, all the Street Triples have a 17.4 litre tank. Speed Triples have a 15.4 litre tank and do drink more petrol. I just don't get the logic !
    With the Trident 660 at £7200, I really do wonder how many Striple 660 A2s Triumph will sell. The Trident is "only" a peak of 80 BHP, but it has better low end torque than the Striple 660.
    I'm guessing the Striple 660 A2 will be dropped from the model range within the next year or two.

    • @Zweefduiker
      @Zweefduiker 3 года назад +1

      I tend to agree. Am a beginner rider, but open license due to age…. . Rode Trident 660 and Street Triple RS back to back and found the Trident to be more beginner oriented. The Trident is so easy to ride, incredible…. So is the Street Triple btw…. The Street Triple felt like a more up market bike, in all aspects. Could handle the RS very well. But knew all the extras of the RS were geared towards experienced race track riders. So i went for Street Triple R instead. And do not regret this decision.
      But, if Triumph would give me a Trident as loaner bike when service is due, I will not turn the Trident down. It is fun to ride.

      I had a 2018 Striple 660 derestricted, when I test rode a 765 RS, it was really only the top end where there was a significant difference. Yes there's all the blingy TFT, lean angle ABS and adjustable suspension on the RS, but low and mid range torque wasn't much different.

      Are you sure you're going to do your Unrestricted after 2 years? I did my A2 just before the start of the pandemic and ride a restricted Z650. Meaning I don't have to fork out more money once I pass my A licence. I would say either stick with your 125 (if you don't need to do dual carriageway) but 2 extra years is along time. I would personally buy a second hand a2 bike then ride that around until you can pass your Unrestricted and get yourself the R.

      It all depends on how much money you want to "lose" on depreciation

    • @Luke-Godzilla
      @Luke-Godzilla 4 года назад

      @@connoradams944 thanks for the help, my 125 is already 5 years old so depreciation isn't an issue on that, but the waiting is the main thing. Another 2 years of waiting to get the next bike is what's getting to me.
      But the R provides a few more benefits over the S that I can't overlook.

    • @connoradams944
      @connoradams944 4 года назад

      The waiting is always the hardest. My 125 was on finance and I had it for less than a year when I passed my A2. I told myself I was fine with waiting until the finance was up (another 2 years) but I couldn't cope and ended up px it in January (exactly 1 year after passing my A2) for a Z650.(Ive only ridden it once which was back from the dealership, becuase lockdown came into for the week after.) Having to wait 2 year is a very long time. So I would recommend buying an old cheap A2 bike (suzsuki sv650/bandits are cheap) to ride around on. Because when you come to sell it for the Street triple you probably only lose a couple hundred quid over the 2 years you have it. Whereas if you got the Street Triple S brand new you'd loose a couple of grand over the 2 years.

    Your measurements differ in different videos of yours. Here, you say 5'7" and 30" inseam. On another you say 5'8" and 29" inseam. Would be great to know the definite measurements. Looking at a Street Triple at the mo, but haven't yet sat on one. For the record, I'm 5'7" with a 29" inseam, so in your sort of range.

    I've never seen this bike before and I'm almost in love. I just will never understand how a bike designer sketched that headlight design out and liked it and then it got approved by the board and put into production. It looks like something you'd find on the back of your leg and want to just whack it off with some tweezers before it turns into cancer

    PLEASE HELP Dan the man! If you have a second please answer this question. I want your opinion as it means a lot. I feel my local dealer is feeding me lies just to get the deal over the line (they already have my deposit, I just have to tell them which one I want). I’m in Australia, trying to decide between triumph street triple s and Honda CBR650R (both LAMS which is like A2). I haven’t been riding for too long so my ability to test handling is limited to decide which handles better, and they’re not letting me ride them again even though I paid them the deposit. Please give me your opinion on which handles better for a sporty ride. Thank you Dan!!
