I've met so many people who hopped from NY to LA and vice versa. It's always so fascinating to hear people's reasons for leaving vs. going and the differing pros and cons. Perhaps it is simply the classic case of longing for what you don't have 🙈.
Girl I was born and raised in NYC, moved away about 6 years ago and I do not miss living there. Cat calling was an everyday occurrence so I feel you on that. I went back to visit this past October for my friends wedding and while I missed my hometown, I would not go back to live. I lived in NC for 4 years after leaving NYC and I loved it. I miss it a lot!!
One of the reasons I left NYC is bc of catcalling, as well. I didn’t feel safe and I was married at the time...THOSE MEN DON’T CARE IF YOURE ALONE OR WITH YOUR PARTNER. Be sure to look into your property management, in LA. They have the worst property management companies. I’m currently looking for a lawyer to sue mine. Good luck to you and your exciting journey 💗
Ive been in NYC my whole life. Im currently looking to move to either Florida, NC or Texas. Im tired of the fast paced, dirty lifestyle of my hometown. I want grass, in my front yard. Im happy youre moving to experience something new. Congratulations
Me too! Native new yorker and I just want a change of scenery. Its a hustle and bustle here and I just want a little more greenery. But Id feel like it would be a big culture shock to me. So use to the walkability here and easy access to supermarkets, transportation etc.. Deeply considering though..
I moved from LA to TX and I love how much cleaner it feels here. I can finally breathe without the smog. I have so many health problems and coming here makes me wonder if they are all caused by how dirty LA is.
I’m from NY and I totally understand the catcalling being uncomfortable and looking over my shoulders. I had men follow me for blocks which made me a nervous wreck especially around men. I moved to NH, completely different vibes! I’m more calm closer to nature ❤️ keep exploring!
I am a native in LA and I understand your fears of meeting genuine people so I will give you one good tip: stay away from over hype trendy places in LA.
Exactly! I find it funny when people say LA is filled with superficial vloggers...like LA is huge and there is sooo much diversity here! There's honestly a spot for everyone :)
@Kayden Wright There’s more to LA than West LA & DT. Have you tried the Southbay? It’s literally all bawm Japanese food and the suburbs. How about Pedro? Total small town vibes with all of the longshore men and dive bars. & come on the LBC!!! Some of the realest people around me rn. I don’t think you understood me when I said LA is HUGEEE
@ceeIoc I personally love Ktown with all their hidden coffee shops. Explore LA as much as you can. There are alot of hidden gems around the city and the neighboring city's in LA county
Omg thank you for actually talking about street harassment, it’s especially bad for black women on the east coast I’ve noticed. It’s not okay and it shouldn’t be normalized. I moved from DC to Seattle about 5 years ago and only experience catcalling once or twice a year vs every time I stepped outside in DC lol.
You are plenty brave and there is still time to find ways to do any of the small or big things that you desire 💫. Sending you so much love, beautiful 💕.
NYC here!I am almost 40 yearsold, married with child and I love my wonderful life but I definitely regret not trying to live in other places when younger .All y’all young girls who are watching this and hesitating to move - DONT! Go for it! Try a new town! And I am a Born and Raised New Yorker! Love my city but it is not for the faint of heart but also not the end all be all! All your issues are definitely on point- weather, small spaces, and the cat calling - LOL.. Sorry sis but the men out here love a round brown girl, esp in BK! Not excusing the Rude behavior at all, and know it can be intimidating but we learn the don’t mess with me face early, LOL.. But anyone wanting to move to NY, don’t be scared! We are actually very nice people, just don’t have time for foolishness.. Good luck on your journey- I will be watching 😉
I absolute love and appreciate your insight and perspective. Thank you for spreading your light and encouragement on here 🙌🏾. LOL. I definitely did not practice my resting B face enough. I admired the women I would pass who were so GOOD at it. I definitely meant to make it clear in the video that NYC is not a scary place and is super safe. This was more of an uncomfortable annoyance that we all experience. So, thanks for pointing that out! Lastly, I'm sure you already know that you are and were EXACTLY where you were meant to be and it has all lead to your beautiful family/life. Also, there's always that empty nester season! A lot of my family members got their exploring on once all the kiddos were out the house ☺️. Sending you lots of love and light 💕.
Wow. I needed to read this! Lifelong New Yorker too and I'm starting to plan a move. Not gonna lie I'm really on the fence about it but the wind is pushing me to leave.
Same! I don't regret getting married and I wasn't even that young but I'm a mover and shaker by nature and we married and moved to the middle of nowhere!! I miss being able to get around easier. I miss solo travel.
Gosh, I want to move back to LA so bad. I was an actor.I had to quick my job to take care of family. I miss it, it’s just so expensive! But good luck there! PS your skin is goals!🙋🏾♀️🖤💦
Quartz Opalz oh wow! What an amazing story and beautiful memories, I’m sure! Thanks for sharing with me and cheers to doing what was best for your family 💕. Sending you lots of love.
Definitely make use of your time in LA to explore california all together! Especially if you like nature there’s so many different and unique ecosystems we have here and it is a big state but it’s definitely worth exploring as much of it as you can!!
You actually lucked out timing wise and being able to make it happen. I have been debating on moving to a west coast city for years, but also Europe, but keep putting it off and staying in NYC long past the point I've felt I've seen and done everything I wanted, now we are at the center of the coronavirus outbreak! We can't enjoy the city, we have to spend most of our time in our crappy, tiny apartments. I know it's all over the US, including LA, but I think that's a much better place to be right now. People have a lot more space there and it's much easier to go out and keep 6 feet from people, unless you live in DTLA, especially near a lot of homeless. Here, it's impossible to not have several people out of nowhere walk (or jog) way too close to you in a short period of time. Agree about dating, sure it's tough in both cities for similar reasons, too many options and people rely too much on dating apps that are designed to make sure people using them keep using them. I think the best cities for women in the US in terms of men to women are San Jose, SF, and Seattle. I heard LA is about even. NYC, there are quite a bit more women than men and DC is supposedly skewed even more that way, though when you dig into age, part of the reason for that is more single older women in both cities (their spouses dying younger or they just never got married).
There’s always The Valley! Or Santa Clarita or where I’m at, the Antelope Valley. I too had my New York experience. I took a lot from it, but the older I got, the more I wanted calm and the ability to carry my groceries in the back of my car. I thought I’d want to get out of the suburbs and move more downtown LA but honestly, so much of what I hated about The Valley/ Valleys I love now. Driving to work can be suffocating with all the traffic, but the escape from city life is worth it. As expensive as California is, you still can get so much more than you can in NYC.
omg, No way....cali and NY are almost comparable in prices, in my opinion...its so ridiculous and I've lived in both states...I'm planning on moving out of OC, Ca soon. I was born and raised in southern CALI (been here for almost 30yrs)and I'm just tired of city life, insane prices and the traffic. Lol😆👉🏽
I was born and raised in NYC and you are right the cat calling is a thing. It will happen about 5-6 times a day everyday max and it’s annoying. So happy that you moved to LA because everyone should try new things. I personally was over NYC because I think 26 years is a long time to live somewhere. I now live in Chicago because it’s cheap and I’m able to travel way more since I’m saving so much money. My new goal is to live permanently in Bali or Italy. But I’m taking 2020 to travel constantly and see what I would like. But I wish you all the best and hope you have a better experience in LA than I had.
tishaelauren I looove your story. I’m thinking of moving to Chicago even though I already live near it haha. Although I’m open to living in different places in the future. NY maybe one day, so thanks for sharing. It gives me new insight on where to consider living! Oh I just want to add that I also love that you want to live somewhere permanently in a whole other country. I can relate in a sense that I’ve always been intrigued in living in a different country one day...long term who knows. To be in an entirely different surrounding is fascinating to me. Okay byeeeee ;)
Listen up Girl, It doesnt matter what skincolor you have, it doesn’t matter what body type you have. You are such a great and vibrant person who is so kind and loving and GIRL you dang beautifull okay? And the right person will see just that.❤️ Hope you have a smooth move! Cant wait for the next videos. Much love xxxx
Good luck to you in LA! This is my first video of yours but I relate so hard! I moved to NY 2 years ago. I'll be here for a few more years as I solidify my tech career but I'm also not feeling it. For the same reasons you mentioned. As a curvier black woman as well, these dudes are mad disrespectful in Brooklyn. Just stop talking to me. 😒 Meanwhile dating is non-existent and I'm 40... I will say that my apartment is amazing, but it's $2400 a month. I need to start making a real list of possible cities. I'm going to Toronto in a few months and that's on my list. Also loved my first trip to Paris. We shall see ☺️
I justttt ran across your channel because I’ve already decided to move to LA by next year, writer. When I say you literally said EVERYTHING I’ve been saying to myself to not talk myself out of it, it’s scary! Lol I’ve lived in Brooklyn my whole life, born & raised so I definitely get it! I’ll miss it, but regrets is not something I can live with. With no children, or spouse, nothing stopping me! Thank you!
Some places here don’t have a/c and we are hitting breaking high HEAT in the summer. Make sure wherever you live your new hale has a/c ♥️ I’m so stoked to see your decor!
Omg LOVE you, love this video-- amazing, as per usual. I was born and grew up in LA (have also lived in New Orleans and now Santa Barbara) and I really enjoyed hearing your perspective on this! As much as I can understand (some) peoples' fears about encountering a "fake," "superficial," "narcissistic" culture, I have always felt that this unfairly essentializes a ginormous, diverse LA and all the people who call it home. There are definitely certain areas of LA that are more cliquish and superficial than others, but this is so much more about the people you choose to surround yourself with than about the realities or fundamental nature of "LA people" generally. There are so many amazing people in LA (both natives and transplants) and now one more with you moving there! In regards to the dating scene, I don't think there is any sort of "universal type" or a particularly rough dating culture unique to LA, though I have definitely heard that before. I have found that people (worth dating) anywhere tend to recognize many forms of beauty and tend to have an open mind about what they're "looking for." The most universally attractive qualities, the ones that seem totally constant to me, are joy, positivity, and self-love. And you girl, have got those in spades, plus beauty to boot. With your smile, confidence, and overall gorgeousness, I 100% know you'll find that person when it's right and it's what you want. LOVE YOU!
I lived in Brooklyn for almost 8 years and while I had and have a love/hate relationship with NYC, I did learn a lot about myself. It was a learning experience for sure. I'm Upstate now, but am hoping to move to LA by next spring when my lease is up. I'm glad I found your channel.
I think it's just the north in General. I have lived in Pennsylvania for 3 years, I'm from Georgia, and I've been so depressed. The atmosphere is so different. So you might thrive in LA! Good luck girl!
It’s all about perspective! LA will be a great change for u! I’m originally from San Diego, now living in Kauai. Just remember to stay grounded and have a strong friend group. LA isn’t for everyone and it can change ppl, for the worse. Stay ur lovely self and see thru all the bullshit cuz LA has a lot of it! Me and my fiancé are seriously considering Chicago as our next home!
Your aesthetic is why I subscribed lol. IDK but your background, skin complexion, hair and overall vibes just makes me think of my mood board. You're it girl!
Moving from NYC to SF in a month (and originally from ATL!) and love hearing your thought process on the reasoning behind leaving NYC. I have to say the biggest for me was the cat calling as well, which only was worse on the subway. If Chicago didn't have worse winters, I would have def been on the first flight to set up shop there!!
Brandon Chang-Cordner you absolutely are capable and the places you want to explore will come to fruition. Take the time you need and you will get there 💫
Enjoyed the video and appreciate your honesty of your fears I’m planning to move to LA next year so meeting real people is definitely high on my list of fears too!!!
Oooh girl. Are you my weather sister?!?! BECAUSE SAME. If it’s cold, or hot, I do not want to go out. As my bf says #nevercomfortable b/c there’s a small window of temperatures where I feel energized and ready to do anything! That window lasts for maybe 8 weeks total here in NC lol. It can get hot in LA but the more stable temps there really have me wondering if I’d ever like to live there. I’ll be following your vids for sure! Also if you want to meet a down to earth person , look up Milk & Honey Life (Charlotte). She’s from FL/GA but has lived in LA for years. I met her in person in October and she is exactly the same as she is in her videos.
i LOVE your energy, wow I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm planning my move to LA (or San Diego, still deciding) and it's super exciting and it SUCKS feeling like I have no one that I can talk to about it. It's nice to hear someone talk about the real frustrations of living in NY. I cannot wait to get the hell out of this place! lol
Girl YES! I have been living in NYC for 6 years (4 years for college) and it has been rough. I am originally from California and I feel like especially now NY is pushing me out of my comfort zone to grow in ways I would have never thought of if I stayed in LA. But you have totally valid points...Although you could get to a nature filled place near NY for the same price as a gallon or two of gas in LA so...are you really saving money?
Some thoughts on your comment about the dating scene in LA... Visit different parts of the LA. People are different from the west (Santa Monica) to the east (East LA), north (Pasadena) and South (Torrance). In my subjective opinion (lol) you're more likely to find men that will love your gorgeousness outside the west lol
watching this right after watching bestdressed move from la to nyc! my two favorite you tubers just passing each other!! if you’re ever in the same place you should collaborate!
I love how we have the same origin and inspirations to move to different cities. Can you do a video on how you managed life in NY also how you started you move from NC to NY?
Best part of Cali/LA, THE DRIVING! Just taking roadtrips and driving down the coast is just so zen and amazing with the landscapes. I love this state, but I love even better driving down through SoCal.
Love you janae. And this is so how I felt at your age about DC - walking everywhere, cat calling, Public transportation , all of it. Reason why I moved to north Georgia. You have to drive everywhere and I love jumping in my car when I want to and not waiting !!! Good luck to you!! I can’t wait to see all the space you have now and how beautiful you will make it !!
I definitely agree with you on the transportation. I’m from the South, and I’m used to no traffic whatsoever. But when I visit a huge city that requires mostly public transportation, it’s kind of frustrating.
Omg! The video I needed is here 😍 I’m about to move to LA in September and I’m excited but nervous at the same time. Hope to meet you one day ✨ you are the best sweetie 🧡
As a native New Yorker you're a hundred percent correct. New York isn't for everyone. I could never live anywhere else but a lot of people just can't be here.
Heyy!! I'm a Brooklyn girl and I have an amazing residency opportunity in Monterey and I'm really thinking about going. My family is jamaican and I'm worried that I won't find cultural food over there and my family isn't happy about me thinking about this decision. However the nature (I'm a big hiker, etc.) And the space is something that i love...I'm hoping I spend a couple years there finish what I gotta do and go somewhere else to settle. Your video helped alot!! Thank you!!
LOL I thought LA was expensive, so it's funny hearing perspective coming from NYC saying they can get much more bang for their buck like having windows 😂😂😂😂😂
I love your channel. The algorithm just paired me up with your content today. I’m in my sixties. I was disappointed to see you moved from NYC. One of my daughters lives in Bed-Sty. She graduated from the New School in 2019. I was hoping you two would meet and be friends. 😭 I hope LA is good to you. I have another daughter that lived there and left after 6 years. She now lives in Dallas N.C.and loves it there. Anyway you are a super positive and funny lady. I enjoy your videos.
Amazing skin! I really appreciate you highlighting fears and concerns about navigating the world as a browner woman. You voiced them plainly but not in a self-deprecating way. ❤
I really, really appreciate that! Thank you. This process has been a long one and took a lot of planning, but I could not do another move while broke and confused (like in my younger years) 😅.
I loved this video because it really spoke to me. I love how you mentioned you want to get out and do things while you have the time and funds. I’m graduating college almost 2 years early and after being in school for 15 years of my life, I just want to focus on traveling, myself, and youtube. So this video was just a reminder for me that it’s best to put yourself first and live life! Safe travels to LA💛💛
Welcome to LA! I also migrated from the Carolinas and NY (among others in between). Have now been here 10 hrs and came for the same reasons.. the weather and diversity!
I really appreciate your honesty in this video! Also, just love your mindset, the way you acknowledge your feelings and validate, while seeking to positively frame things as much as possible. Wishing you the best with this next adventure!!! :)
I moved from Florida to Vermont when I was 18 and it was so different and crazy but it’s been 7 years and I’m so happy I did it! You’re so brave and inspiring!
I’ve been meaning to check out your channel because of the namesake (another Janée here) and b/c I currently live in Brooklyn, and I must say, you are absolutely beautiful. Best of luck in LA, I play with the idea of making that another home base as well (for the same reasons you mentioned).
Loving your videos - I'm gearing up to move to LA in August for the exact same reasons! Just because I can and it's awesome! Not in the entertainment industry or anything. Can't wait to follow along until I get there (and continue to once I do)!
i love your videos so much!! your personality and presence is so inspiring to me and seeing a new upload from you instantly puts me in a great mood. keep doin ya thang because youre great!!!
Everything is temporary! Go to LA give it a few years. If it doesn't work out, go somewhere else. I lived in Marina Del Rey for a year! LOVED IT. I should have never left. You will love the weather, how laid back most people are and waking up to the sunshine just makes you want to do things all the time. Is it expensive? YES but so is NYC. You will find a place. Take what you can get until you can find what you want. God Bless!
At the age of 30 I moved from the only place I knew in Houston, TX and moved to MN. I moved here because my job transferred however if I thought about it maybe I would have tried another place. My younger brother moved to Vegas a few years before I moved. We are both still in our new cities as we've each gotten married and had kids. I used to think I'd move back home and sometimes I really think about it in the winter, but my husband doesn't like the heat. I tell everyone moving away from home is worth the risk. You can always move back home even if for just a few weeks before moving to another city. Especially if you are feeling stuck with school, career, or relationships, move! Do it! I don't regret it because I don't think I'd be the person I am today without it.
Just discovered you and I feel like we would be besties!!! I'm actually in the middle of trying to move to LA so your videos are so SO helpful and encouraging for me. Keep it up girl!!
I love your channel and your vibe! I'm graduating grad school for speech therapy this May, and I'm thinking about becoming a travel therapist and making my first stop in LA! I currently live in TN, but I've always loved California and dreamed off living in LA. I definitely want to come back to the land of affordable property eventually too. I want to go so bad. Can you tell me something that will give me that push to actually take the risk and do it?
I love your personality!! You truly inspire me, I’m currently transitioning from Philly to Los Angeles. I’ve been watching your videos for tips and girl I just can’t wait to get there🙌🏾 I wish you all the best love❤️❤️
i grew up in LA and im in college in LA right now, and i honestly think about leaving to go to other cities like NYC when i am older so I need you to make a lot of vlogs about fun things you do in LA to make me want to stay 😅
You're going to love it out here in LA! So many fun things to do... great weather(most of the time)... creative fun people and... yah... fits your outgoing personality :-) Welcome to LA!
I’m thinking of moving to Chicago even though I live near it anyways. I don’t know how long I’ll stay there because I’m open to trying different places too, maybe NY one day. One of the things I look for is diversity as well. And I get where your coming from about nature too! I love the points you made, I could relate ;) it made me second guess Denver and Portland because of the lack of diversity you mentioned Anyways I hope you thrive in LA!! 💛
Loving all your videos. Listening to your story about looking for a new place to live, I don’t think u would have liked it here in Dallas lol there’s not enough....culture here? Idk. I’m from Louisiana and Dallas is definitely lacking in a lot of areas
It's crazy, because Ashley (Bestdressed) just moved from LA to NYC. and it's weird seeing two people talk about the same places so differently.
Sincerely Eccentric I was thinking the same thing. It’s proof that life is literally about perspective.
Omg yeah! I Thought the same thing!
I've met so many people who hopped from NY to LA and vice versa. It's always so fascinating to hear people's reasons for leaving vs. going and the differing pros and cons. Perhaps it is simply the classic case of longing for what you don't have 🙈.
@@aisforana Perspective is everything. I couldn't agree more 🙌🏾
Sanne Vloet also just moved from NYC to LA. Everyone is swapping.
ah you're so pretty. Your skin is gloooowing and your makeup is perfect.
My goodness, you are so incredibly kind. Thank you, lovely 🧡!
noor almuftah STOP lying.....🙄

@ceeIoc I personally love Ktown with all their hidden coffee shops. Explore LA as much as you can. There are alot of hidden gems around the city and the neighboring city's in LA county
LA is beautiful but it doesn't give me the same feeling as NYC on any scale, but that's just me. Good luck with your move!
I totally agree.
Omg thank you for actually talking about street harassment, it’s especially bad for black women on the east coast I’ve noticed. It’s not okay and it shouldn’t be normalized.

WOW! That is amazing and makes me so, so happy to hear. I cannot imagine that level of peace of mind 😩🙌🏾🧡
@Jazmin wow smh
@Jazmin Yeah it gets dangerous fast. I used to always carry bear spray there and tbh I'll probably never go back.
NYC ppl are the creepiest!!!! (cat callers are lol)
You’re doing everything I would’ve done when I was younger had I been more brave/independent. I wish I’d had your RUclips inspo back then! 😀
You are plenty brave and there is still time to find ways to do any of the small or big things that you desire 💫. Sending you so much love, beautiful 💕.

Agree 😊
I’m born and raised in NY and lived here my whole life. I’m thinking of moving to LA but I like your idea of visiting different places first
I love your energy! So happy i found this channel...I feel like I’m on lunch break with my home girl from college while watching you 😂
Aye, aye! I love hearing that, sis. Thank you for watching and cheers to being long lost home girls 💫💕🤗
Gosh, I want to move back to LA so bad. I was an actor.I had to quick my job to take care of family. I miss it, it’s just so expensive!
But good luck there! PS your skin is goals!🙋🏾♀️🖤💦

I lived in NYC for 3 after graduating. I left 5 years ago and never looked back. NYC is not for everyone.
Dee hahaha. Understandable, love. I can def relate and you are right 🤗
Suezette same as me!
@Kerry Ann Richards Omg. I also live in Midwood. Transplants don't know about these kind of neighborhoods lol.

Relocated to NYC from the Bay Area six weeks ago. Begging management to get out of my lease to go back to CA. NYC is not the move
I never get catcalled in LA so you're good. When I lived in Philly it was like that.
Lol😆👉🏽
I sincerely love you already! Best of luck in LA. I just recently moved to NYC and I'm loving it.
Listen up Girl,
It doesnt matter what skincolor you have, it doesn’t matter what body type you have.
You are such a great and vibrant person who is so kind and loving and GIRL you dang beautifull okay?
And the right person will see just that.❤️
Hope you have a smooth move! Cant wait for the next videos.
Much love xxxx
Julia Lumina that was very sweet ❤️
Such an important and necessary tip! Thank you, love 🙌🏾🧡💫
I appreciate your take on this!! a refreshing perspective :) hope you love LA
That means so much! Thank you, lovely Nicole 🧡
Can’t wait to see how you design your LA apartment ❤️
Moving from NYC to SF in a month (and originally from ATL!) and love hearing your thought process on the reasoning behind leaving NYC. I have to say the biggest for me was the cat calling as well, which only was worse on the subway. If Chicago didn't have worse winters, I would have def been on the first flight to set up shop there!!
I admire people like you. my dream is to leave Miami and make my way to LA or Las Vegas and never look back.
Brandon Chang-Cordner you absolutely are capable and the places you want to explore will come to fruition. Take the time you need and you will get there 💫
Another NYC influencer, Antonette, is also moving to LA!! Crayyyyy. I am loving my faves moving closer to me 🙌💖
Enjoyed the video and appreciate your honesty of your fears I’m planning to move to LA next year so meeting real people is definitely high on my list of fears too!!!
Definitely! Do this while you dont have anything tying you down. Its exciting!
Thank you so much for this!! I am moving from NYC (born and raised) to LA and this video has been very reaffirming
I just found your account & you are cute as heck! Subscribed for sure 😁♥️
Kirstie Anne oh wow! You are so, so kind! Thank you, lovely 🧡
Amazing skin! I really appreciate you highlighting fears and concerns about navigating the world as a browner woman. You voiced them plainly but not in a self-deprecating way. ❤
Wow sis, I am all for you moving to LA!
I have the same issue with NYC weather. I tend to stay in when it is rainy or hot, and it has been raining a lot lately! ☔️
Yea I’m thinking about leaving Raleigh in 2021 and come back later...love your channel, just discovered it.
I magically found you and I am so thankful for finding you! I love your videos so far and your skin just GLOWS!!
I’m from NYC but have a best friend in LA that I’ve been visiting for 10 years. I’m always this_close to moving to LA. Thanks for this video ✨💛
It sounds like a well thought out decision. Good luck on your new journey!! Btw, love, love your editing style and background.
I really, really appreciate that! Thank you. This process has been a long one and took a lot of planning, but I could not do another move while broke and confused (like in my younger years) 😅.
I love that you're living your best single life! Explore before settling down. Enjoy LA!
It could be just me, but when I read hey nugget head, I subscribed
I loved this video because it really spoke to me. I love how you mentioned you want to get out and do things while you have the time and funds. I’m graduating college almost 2 years early and after being in school for 15 years of my life, I just want to focus on traveling, myself, and youtube. So this video was just a reminder for me that it’s best to put yourself first and live life! Safe travels to LA💛💛
I feel like you’re my long lost sister! Wishing and praying for a wonderful transition for you💗
Welcome to LA! I also migrated from the Carolinas and NY (among others in between). Have now been here 10 hrs and came for the same reasons.. the weather and diversity!
Congratulations on the move!! Love your videos my dear! 👍🏾
I really appreciate your honesty in this video! Also, just love your mindset, the way you acknowledge your feelings and validate, while seeking to positively frame things as much as possible. Wishing you the best with this next adventure!!! :)
You are going to love LA! I also enjoy driving... I had a great time living there.
Can you make a video on side hustles and jobs you've had? How do or did you make your money stretch in both cities?
I moved from Florida to Vermont when I was 18 and it was so different and crazy but it’s been 7 years and I’m so happy I did it!
You’re so brave and inspiring!
60k let's goooo!!!!!!💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾
NYC lifestyle is honestly for the people that grew up in it. We're used to the good and the bad.
Janae, I am LOVING your channel!!! I was late to come across but do enjoy these vids--especially as NYC based girl.
I’m happy for you I wish you the best on this journey! Can’t wait for LA vlogs
Good luck to you in LA! Love from The Bronx
Born and raised in LA and it’s an amazing city! We have it all ❤️🤘🏼🌴 you’re gonna love it!!!
I’ve been meaning to check out your channel because of the namesake (another Janée here) and b/c I currently live in Brooklyn, and I must say, you are absolutely beautiful. Best of luck in LA, I play with the idea of making that another home base as well (for the same reasons you mentioned).
I always feel so good and motivated after watching your videos! You made me wana move to LA and I live in the UK 😂
sis you're a baddie. you're popping in any city. happy for you!
I am LIVING for your honesty! 💛💛
Love your energy. Congrats on the move to LA. That’s on my bucket list for this year too! Your place is gorgeous hunnyyyy.
We are so similar and I love how u really walked us down this process
Such an amazing well planned video
I feel like this was a genuine video and I really liked it.
Just discovered you and I feel like we would be besties!!! I'm actually in the middle of trying to move to LA so your videos are so SO helpful and encouraging for me. Keep it up girl!!
I wish you the best of luck on this new adventure in your life!!! Go where God leads you and live your life as blessed as you can.💕💕💕
Moving to nyc when I graduate in a few months!! Nervous, have loved all ur tips and watching your own journey. Hoping you love your new city!
#100K💕
Ain’t nobodeeeee checking for that....
I’m staying High*Drayted😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Appreciate this video and the list of differences as a woman
I love watching your videos! So motivating and positive☺️
I lived in NYC for 2 years and had a blast but ultimately found it too exhausting and am much happier in my home city, Buffalo, NY.
I love the points you made, I could relate ;) it made me second guess Denver and Portland because of the lack of diversity you mentioned
Anyways I hope you thrive in LA!! 💛
First video I saw of yours and I already love you! 😍
I literally love you omg your energy is so accepting and lovely
Loving all your videos. Listening to your story about looking for a new place to live, I don’t think u would have liked it here in Dallas lol there’s not enough....culture here? Idk. I’m from Louisiana and Dallas is definitely lacking in a lot of areas
