I live in LA and I don't experience problems, you just can't go to certain areas, simple as that. Also Hollywood ain't nice! At all! Lastly, I also lived in Atlanta for about ten years and I assure you, it is far worse! Bottom line, step your game up, get your paper up, and stay away from certain areas and people. You'll be fine.
Here’s another tip. If you’re in a neighborhood with a lot of graffiti where some of it appears to be scribbling out or “crossing out” other graffiti, you’re likely in territory where 2 gangs are fighting with each other. Be very careful in those areas and don’t get caught in the middle of it!
Another subtle clue, If you see a heavy Police presence on a daily basis, you’re in a bad area. The nice areas(with the exception of Beverly Hills) never has much police presence.
LA is done. Left 8 months ago and never looked back. People think living the dream is being in LA but it's a nightmare. Highest cost on everything and lowest quality of life....and dwindling. But this is a pattern that the elites want to do to every city. You will own nothing and be happy coming to a city near you.
I tell people don’t come out here if your on BS…I won’t allow my little brother to come out here because he’s had drug problems in the past…this city will swallow you up if your not here for the right reasons…
Been going to LA for decades and after visiting in 2020 I couldn't believe how grimy and filthy it was. Even the freeways were dirty. Also never saw potholes in the streets until my last visit. That city has definitely gone to shit.
@@WORLDWIDESOCAL9Why do u Los Angeles cats blame everything on what you bums call “outta towners”. Cali sucks dude and it’s because of you natives most people who move to L.A nowadays are successful and not used to seeing cities full of trash and homeless camps.
One more thing about California as someone who is black living here. The competition with the other groups in the workforce is insane. I work construction and usually I’m the only brother working on these jobs. I like the east and south because you’ll see more of us and we own more businesses over there
the messed up part is that the Mexican dont wont you on the job site, and they talk shit abut you in Spanish, hoping that you dont understand the language. Who ever said the immigrant dont take American jobs need to come to California and see for them selves who is the dominant workforce here. Employers dont even care about hiring Americans anymore.
Los Angeles is one of those places a person shouldn’t move to unless you feel deeply called to. That’s why most people who move there get washed up and depleted. It’s not a place to move to at leisure; especially, due to the current crashing economy and fucked up behavior of humans out there.
Born and raised here. I’ve been back and forth between Detroit and LA as a child… my entire adult life has been in LA. It’s absolutely heartbreaking to see what LA has become. People are sleeping right in front of what use to be thriving businesses. The homeless don’t want to shake their habits, in exchange for housing.
Wait so either you from the LAnd or you from Detroit lol I don’t get it. If you didn’t attend middle school and high school in the city you not really from here because adult years don’t really count you grown already…
@@AntJanuaryFitness Adult years do count. It's where you have your most independent experience. I definitely consider myself from Atlanta and Delaware.
Im from NY orginally but lived in LA for 2 years. I wear dad hats, dont be flashy, be really on point on the subways. Dont always pay for the train, only at certain stations, do not pay at Compton. Dont mumble, never show fear, stay calm, be respectful. Downtown LA is very bad no matter how expensive it is. Racism is a whole different ball game than NY, and that will reflect in healthcare, work environments, and housing. Has beautiful scenery though, the beaches are awesome, gig apps pay more, and the ladies are a lot more friendly here, dating shouldn't really be a problem, unless you are purposely enjoying your solitude. Be prepared for lots of random conversations, some people love randomly talking to strangers. Thats it in a nut shell.
Wow that seems like alot to have to do constantly to just live. I'm a country girl just trying to understand. Now I don't see any California trip in my future. Probably better just stay in the sticks where I belong lol.
@@Amanda_The_American_Mom I grew up in LA and lived in Cali my whole life, trust me this place is a lot worse than it seems. The violence is insane especially if you’re a person of color but like the guy said if you’re respectful mind your own business and show no fear you should be alright, also don’t be a alone, that makes you an easy target for bad people.
@@Amanda_The_American_Momit’s mostly the big cities that are like that. These ppl are insane. They’ve been in one city or just LA their entire life and think they just know California.
Been here in L.A. for over 20+ as an adult so I can give a pretty good heads up. Simplest advice is don’t try to go be cool with everyone just because. Keep a tight circle & get familiar with the side of town that suits you. If u plan to be here for awhile just take time and learn different sides of the city. Less random type movement until you been here for some time. Best is to keep it simple / safe.
As someone who’s lived in LA and is from the Bay, I can say that the whole state done went off a damn cliff. Even when it was bad in the 90s there were still areas you could go to to get away from all the crime and drama. Now, even in some bougie and posh areas you gotta keep your head on a swivel. Just a few weeks ago there was a shooting in Pier 39 in San Francisco, a HELLA touristy area. Something like that was unheard of before. “Bipping” in the Bay Area is getting out of control and LA definitely ain’t much better. I’ve said many times that I don’t understand why people not from here or don’t have any family ties here would move out here long term. The cost of living is high and other than the really great weather and topography the costs ain’t really worth it if you just out here to parlay. With all of that said though, it isn’t as bad or good as the movies and media have historically portrayed it. Everywhere ain’t gonna be like the Boyz in the Hood movie just like everywhere ain’t gonna be like the Beverly Hills 90210 show. The reality is somewhere in the middle of all that and it’s important to do adequate research before moving ANYWHERE.
I'm here in the Bay and yup, "Bipping” has become a dam sport!!! Our streets are completely covered in glass from all of the break ins. And most of those break ins happen in broad daylight!
LA native here. Lived in the worst parts, and lived in the nicest parts of LA (close to Beverly Hills) and currently in a decent part of LA. LA is completely safe. “Stay in your lane”, don’t look the part and you’re good.
what i notice when people ask "where you from?" they have hella stalking abilities. so generally, i give them a completely wrong city. like 5 cities away radious. I like to sleep well at night. i don't need a group stalking murders attempting to comit murder or robbery heist during the day or night at where i live. Also making sure you don't get followed helps too.
Same thing happened to me years ago. I was stopped by two dudes who asked me where I was from. When I told the I was from Philly, they gave me mad love and told me where not to go and to be safe. I just don’t like the traffic! 😂
@@al5603It’s like this. The area he was in, even LA Natives don’t really go to that specific Roscoes, myself included. The Westside can be treacherous but the EASTSIDE!? Pfffft, real wolves all through there. Smh
Saying what's up and acknowledging somebody is great advice and goes a long way. Sends a message that you're not afraid but also aren't looking for trouble.
I don’t know man. Crime is random and I feel high percentage of encounters are “wrong place, wrong time.” My girl born and raised in Boyle Heights and has never had an issue. I live in San Diego and there was recently a drive by shooting in La Jolla, one of the richest neighborhoods in the country. No one can predict a violent encounter but I agree with the narrator. Keep your head on a swivel, don’t be peacocking and go about your business.
They are breaking into homes in the best, affluent areas while people are home, now!!! I left in 2017 after 33 years. It was hard the last 10 years living there. Ridiculous. I don't miss it.
Good I am glad they aren't just targeting other poor ppl. I never understood that train of thought. Go after the wealthy and stop terrorizing ppl that look like you in your neighborhood.
Face Tattoo in Los Angeles says you're gang affiliated. Avoid face tattoos or cover them up with makeup. Unless you're a rapper with a record deal there's no point to tattoo your face and give employers another reason not to hire you.
I’ve survived numerous situations by being respectful but matching the hostile energy. Like dude in the video said” not overly aggressive but showing no fear while respecting them will set you free. (I’ve also been shot at while minding my own business so it’s a wobbler)
Crazy when I moved, no one listened to me when I said this was gonna happen to LA. I left 15 yrs ago. When I visit I stay in Torrance or Calabasas areas. I dont bring no jewelry or nice gear. Back inside at the room by 6-7pm. It's real different....
Dayum in the house that early, it's like Blacula and Dracula live out there being the house by 6 p.m. cuz if you don't they will come out or something will come out and get u. I bet magic mountain and Disneyland closed early
Truthfully, anyone not white in LA , going thru middle and high school. I can see they have a real tough time here. Gangs, drugs, poverty, etc . All around. If your not white, lived and grew up in LA and made it to the age of 21, congratulations .. You made it through the toughest ppart.
I used to live in Long Beach and Paramount and had and still have family from or around the LA areas. I moved far away from the area when I was in H.S. and I hated it at first, but seeing how everything has unfolded through the years, you couldn't pay me to move back to LA or a surrounding area. It's just not a place worth living in let alone raising a family in, all things considered. Too many dumb street rules. Too much gang culture. More and more lawlessness. LA (along with the rest of the country TBH) needs a whole spiritual revival!
LA was 100x worse in the 80's and 90's. The difference is now social media algarithyms have you thinking its the worst place ever. I do respect your opinion but its important to keep perspective
Great video and good advice for newcomers. I grew up in Chicago's Southside. Moving to LA was great. No snow, no humidity. Way safer than South Chicago. I'd go to Compton for Bludsoe's BBQ,Golden Bird Fried Chicken, Hawkins for burgers. Never had a problem standing in line with the gang bangers. Been here over 50 years now. Never been hassled, never been robbed. Be confident, don't be perceived as a possible threat, be respectful. I would also say be careful where you are after dark. Its a different city. Right now, I would say the greater physical threat are the mentally ill homeless. They are way more unpredictable.
everyone in these comments are over exaggerating like crazy. I’ve been in LA for a year and have been to every single section of LA/LA county of all hours. Never had any issues besides the homeless.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Los Angeles is great place to live but you have to move differently. The more you make the better you'll be... I own rental property in Inglewood,CA and I live out in the valley. Lots of places to live where you can enjoy happiness.
I've lived in Los Angeles most of my adult life since the late '60's. Show no fear, give a quick nod to acknowledge other people and go about my day. I had a mobile pet grooming business and my tag line was I groom from Malibu to Watts. Pay attention to where you are and realize that LA is car culture so anyone can be anywhere at anytime, so just be aware ALL the time, everywhere. P.S. years ago someone who I casually knew mentioned that he never would break into a home or rob someone in South Central but had no problem going to the wealthier areas so just because it looks wealthier doesn't mean you are safer. I never carried a purse, hide your valuables!
Videos like this is hilarious to me as a LA native born & raised. Outta towners got the wrong idea of the city because of the Hollywood media. Downtown LA is filled with smokers & homeless people. And just because you live in the nicer areas don’t think that’s gonna stop you from getting robbed 🤷🏿♂️ LA is also very segregated don’t forget to tell them that. If you ain’t from South Central, Watts, Compton, it’s best for you not to venture off into those areas even though the food is way better 😆
@@Guttagangboosie102 man you need to go to a real segregated city. One where u might not see another race for weeks/ months. LA is more of a melting pot. I live in LA and grew up in NYC. While LA may be more violent (at least what the stats say), the New York City lifestyle is way more stressful. I dont worry about being shot in either city but you need to be prepared for most other issues. And, that preparedness is needed all over the USA!
I lived in LA from 98-2018 and mostly didn't have any major problems. I rarely wore red or blue, usually wore black, purple shirts with black pants and shoes that I could walk in. I was taught street smarts by my father. I'm mixed but look white to most people. I lived in South LA for two years and just treated people with basic respect. I had a few problems with a couple men, but not in south LA, but once they realized I wasn't going to show fear the situation ended quickly.
I live in LA Inglewood Lax area to be exact ive been here since the 80s i think it was worse back then .. Thank god i have never experienced any negative situation. Not all neighborhoods are the same . I can say in my area its pretty peaceful.
The best advice i have for O.T. people is to Google L.A. gang maps and it will attach to your google maps and you'll see color sections of the city lol
😂 I commend you for moving here at this time. I’m From Detroit and moved here 17 years ago. I know personally that certain areas haven’t changed and we’re that bad when I moved here. I worked I. East LA for years and I always showed respect to the people living I. The parks. Pre Covid. Most of them are affiliated and the parks are their primary headquarters. 😂 I’ve been asked where I from and I said Detroit and they had all love for me. I used to hook them up with free toilet paper and cleaning supplies.
As a black girl from New Jersey I visit LA once a month . Hollywood is hell 😅 but to be honest the hood is quite nice as long as you are respectful they are respectful its the same as every hood don’t be flashy tryna flex and like he said don’t chill no where for too long
@kevinfarmer5100 LA is very dangerous now. 😳 Break ins while people are home, like today in Mission Viejo. Very homeless, very filthy, expensive and unsustainable. You can get shot eating lunch in Beverly Hills. Not normal.... this guy isn't lying. I lived in LA for three decades. Glad I no longer do.
LA is just like any other big city this is basic common sense advice. Been all over LA at night and weekends never been in a bad situation but you know where to go and where not to go. I think the majority of people who dislike LA aren't from here or just take advice from people who also aren't from LA. TBH the only real thing I dislike about living in LA is the traffic.
As an LA Native, you hit that target square in the middle. To add to that, people that say LA is this or that don’t really kick it in LA. They usually mean West Hollywood or Melrose or Los Feliz. Anything north of Wilshire 😂. Just looking at a bunch of other transplants walking and talking how they THINK Los Angelinos are supposed to act. It’s funny watching them though
Truth is, ALOT of the homeless aren't ppl getting outta Jail..it's mfkrs thats watch too much entertainment tonight, and think LA is calling, then, get STUCK🤷🏽♂️ Locals went to school wit folk, got connects and hook ups and that's kinda how we move...network in cliques...NEVER had a "gang interaction" cuz those that came up during the Tookie/Jamal era, know the rules...besides cost of living, worst part of SoCal is Traffic if you grind normal hours..
Well, I mean, considering there is several Californians and Los Angeles people that move out of their area and the whole state, I wouldn’t say that about all of the natives. Even though I’m a native to metro Atlanta, because that’s where I mainly grew up at, I do not like the area.
Thanks for your insights. I moved here to L.A. nearly 5 months ago from Savannah, GA. I'm in South Central and take public transportation, and haven't had any problems whatsoever. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY, so I've got good street smarts, and of course did my homework before moving here. Still, it's good to hear as many tips as possible. BTW: Savannah is worse crime-wise.
Stay alert. You'll be good and carry yourself well . NYC street smarts will keep you ahead of people in the workforce and just for getting ahead in general. Please understand though that LA gang culture is nothing like NYC nor is the criminal mindset. Its senseless violence here not even about money. Just keep that in mind people are more ignorant and less intelligent overall. Its a diff culture. Aside from that people are very friendly and LA is a great city full of history all over the county.
@@RellyMedia the public transportation is alright. It all depends on what you're trying to get done. As a native New Yorker who grew up with what is probably the premier public transportation system, and also as someone who just spent 21 years in a town (Savannah) that has a horrible transportation system, I found a middle ground here. The train system is relatively new (30 years) and is still being built, so the routes are limited. The busses take up the slack where the trains leave off, and they run pretty regularly: about every 10-15 minutes. If you are living in L.A. and trying to get around in L.A. then you shouldn't have a problem. If you are traveling between L.A. and Long Beach, Azusa, San Fernando Valley, or the San Gabriel Valley then you'll do fine. The problem is that L.A. COUNTY is SO large that many of the other cities and towns in the area are inaccessible or poorly accessible by public transportation, so if you are moving here and want to rely on public transportation, choose L.A., downtown Long Beach, Azusa or somewhere very nearby those locations, avoiding other cities and suburbs in the are before you investigate them individually about their transportation proximity.
I visited new york last april 2023 being from l.a all my life. I also saw philly and new jersey.i went to a yankee game in a dodger jersey n hat , ppl were actually friendly to me and very talkative coney island was awesome i would rather live in the east coast .✌🏽
NYC is not perfect but what I see & hear about LA its on a different scale. As a New Yorker we don't focus on where anyone is from we just go with the flow
Like Chris Rock said, if you are in a place, where there are lots of women walking around in the day, going for coffee, going for Yoga, then you are fine If you are in a place with lots of men walking around in the day, men riding bikes and talking in their gardens, with gym equipment then you need to get the hell out of there

Imma Cali native 57 strong SCLA and L.A. was always bad buhh now the badness is spread everywhere it’s a lot of tension out here and it’s slowly being and gentrified . If y’all wanna visit pop in and pop out
I live in LA. Just like any big city, always keep your head on a swivel. Just don’t go to some areas where you have no business going. It def went downhill last 5 years or so where even the nice areas you gotta watch your back for random crazies attacking and harassing people for no reason. Be alert when you are out and about
The main issues about living in LA is the traffic and it's getting very expensive to live there. Crime is rapid anywhere, especially in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Me too! I live in Ktown here and I can't wait to relocate to the southern states or east coast!! People are so rude and just selfish! society got worsened after the post-pandemic.
It’s crazy to me… living in L.A. is a high-price luxury good in itself. What’s the point of women buying expensive purses, or guys wearing expensive watches, if you can’t… you know… _wear it outside?_
Originally from Brooklyn here. I moved to LA (Highland Park specifically) for one year and LA is the worst, Bad traffic, LOTS of homeless people, dirty streets and sidewalks, lots of plasticity and fake people and yes the crime is insane, Someone on my block was shot and killed by a homeless person when I lived in Highland Park. Lots of car accidents, very high rent, high car insurance because of all the accidents. (Ive only gotten into two car accidents in my life and both were in LA on the freeway caused by other people). The only thing I actually liked was the weather and even then it becomes like Groundhog Day because everyday is literally the same except in the winter when it rains. Overall great place to visit but there is a reason why so many people are moving out of LA to places like New York and Atlanta and Austin. They really need to get that homeless situation under control.
because places like NY and all of the east coast ship their homeless out here!!! VIRTUALLY none or very few homeless are actually even from LA let alone CA
@MiesAnthrophy been living here all my life these cities I mentioned are the worst for black and Latinos you just have to stand up for your self and be strong if they mess with you
I'm a middle aged white guy. Originally from Ohio. I moved from Glendale to Inglewood 3 years ago for the lower rent. I'm a couple blocks from downtown Inglewood. I drive Uber at all hours of the night. I street park my SUV. I haven't had any issues in three years here. Glendale/Burbank are nicer but Inglewood, at least the Western part of it, has been fine.
I love LA to visit but could never live there. The absurdity to still be killing people over colors and hats is something that has never set well with me. Plus all the Black folks are gone now. I believe LA is only 8 or 9% Black. Black folks have been disenfranchised there so much to the point where they feel like gang culture is the only thing that they can latch on to. Beautiful city and I actually love interacting with the people there, but between gang culture, lack of Black folks, and cost of living its a no no for me. Im from Houston and Houston and LA Black folks have always gotten along..even the eses showed me love there when I said I was from Houston.
@@jus3278Well we’re not gone completely just spread out throughout different areas … California still has the 5th highest Black population in America with 2.3 million In Los Angeles, the black population is centered around the Crenshaw /Inglewood area & Watts … Than also alot of us moved to the high desert of Lancaster & Palmdale
That why everyone is moving down here to the south, Houston, tx, low cost of leaving. The flip side, over crowded, traffic horrible and the worst flooding ever due to too much building over a badly design civil engineered city.
You get it bro. Much respect. Unfortunately, a lot of Blacks are too afraid to go west of the Mississippi River. Unfortunate, but true. There’s a lot out there besides Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, N.C., even those they are great cities. It’s a big world and big country.
He’s definitely right -but let me say this ever since Covid happened. Crime went up everywhere. Many people lost their damn minds if you noticed people drive crazy on the highways now more than ever it is the Covid affect and some people haven’t recovered, so yes, LA can be safe it can be dangerous, but you just have to be aware of your surroundings just like any big city like New York City for example, but can be a great place to visit. Lots of culture lots of different restaurants. You got the beach 15 minutes away a lot of diversity but with all those benefits there are some downsides. You just have to be very self aware of what’s around you and who is around you .
Yeah you know I am glad La has never been the dream city for me. I have thought about moving to Cali but I think I am just going to visit and leave it at that.
I'm from LA native and it's always been dangerous, but you just know how to keep it moving and / or know where to go and not to go. I can tell you it's dangerous everywhere but gotta stay on point...

One of the first things I noticed is how unambitious the LA natives are and denying the position our community is in. It is not an Atlanta or Detroit. It's more like 1955 Birmingham, Alabama but the oppressor is talking in Spanish.
@@BrooklynBaby100 It's weird. I think after everything that happened in the 90s has taken a toll on them and broke their spirits. I think in 20 years they going to be hispanicize and become anomalies within the larger community.
ive lived in la for 6 years and i can assure you it is expensive but if you make at least 70k a year you can live nicely and it depends the place you live because some places are very safe about 30 to 40 percent of la is a bit dangerous but the rest is pretty safe. I make 120K a year, so i can live comfortably and i recommend if you make under 70K a year live in las vegas.
Just stay on the west side and go to the east side as little as possible. I stay on the west side and I love it , it’s gorgeous and I feel safe. I disagree that it’s safe and Hollywood or West Hollywood it’s not . I stay there for a month and it was not good. I’ll just say that. Maybe it’s different for a man but as a woman I do not think Hollywood is safe.

I think the experience of someone living in a city is their experience and unique to them. If you ask 20 black people how living in LA is, you’re likely to get 20 different answers.
It’s not the same as it used to be. I lived in the “nicer” LA area way back before 2010. There were some bad parts of town and as long as you stayed out of those areas you were fine. However, nowadays the crime rate has gone through the roof and you can get your car stolen anywhere in LA. It’s definitely not what it used to be.
I'm not an American but I love travel vlogs. And this is an excellent video. Because what I find funny is when Americans visit countries such as Colombia, Mexico, or Brazil and wonder if it is safe...? Feel where I'm heading already. lol Maybe I watch too much American criminality, but in some cases, the level of crime that happens in America is worse than in South America. You don't have mass killings/shootings in (kindergarten) schools, parades, concerts, and every other place you can imagine.. So yeah...always found that crazy. But then again Americans are funny people.
America is generally safe but yes, we have some issues. We have 330 million people. Most people won't see any of the things you mentioned. We don't have favelas and "devils breath" like South America.

Almost nothing else is a bigger display of fear and/or timidness than walking past somebody and just keeping your head down and refusing to acknowledge that they're even there. Some people will take something as simple as that as disrespect or they will pick up on the fear and that can also make you a target. He said it perfectly, when you're walking the streets you gotta keep your head up walk with confidence and act as if you're supposed to be wherever it is that you are. When you pass by somebody just give them the respect of acknowledging that they're there. No conversation is needed, a simple nod will do (think old western movies when the cowboys give a nod and tip of their hat). If you're on any of the public transit systems you need to be aware of your surroundings and be aware of who is in those surroundings. I remember 2 friends and I were taking the train from Norwalk to Hollywood, and my friends finished off their cigarettes before heading down to the platform and I went ahead of them since I didn't smoke. On the stairway down there was 2 dudes posted up. When I walked past them I looked at em and jus gave a nod and said whats up (in a greeting manner) and walked right past, no problem. A few minutes later my friends met me on the platform looking shook and almost crying. Those same 2 dudes asked them for a cigarette and when they said they didn't have anymore so the dudes pocket checked em and took their shit. I felt bad for my friends but I wasn't going to say anything because I had almost $800 on me. Once we got on the train I remember those 2 guys started walking up and down the train just robbing people and at every stop they had friends getting on the train. By the time we got to the Rosa Parks station (our transfer stop) they were probably 10-12 deep just robbing everybody, but they never hit me up or came at me. I always attributed that not to the fact that I showed them a bit of respect as I passed them but because I walked past them carrying myself with confidence. Either way both go a long way.
Other men are needy females that need my attention and acknowledgement? Because I put my headphones on and tune out all the ugly and degenerate people around here. If people find that disrespectful that's they're problem not mine 🤷♂️
He's absolutely right. Most of them are asking where you from because of the back and forth retaliation between hoods. They don't know if you're from an enemy hood or if you're related to someone that's an enemy and trying to get revenge. Ppl don't realize tht most of the population of folks who aren't rich in LA grew up in the foster care system. Most of those folks didn't grow up with even one basic decent parent much less a family so gangs were their family. When a generation of kids are mistreated and thrown away like trash, and then they grow up, you then have a city of folks attacking people because no one gave a f@ck about them, so why should they give a f@ck about you. You see Tina Knowles house got robbed and they gave not two sh!!!ts who her daughter was. LA is a place not played with. And if you do wanna test the waters and play around, you will find out that LAPD will not save you and you're on your own and thus calling a family member you have in a gang (or h@ll if you're in) gets you quicker results to address your issue than the police. Police been defunded and folks in LA have learned how to live with and handle crime in their own weird way for decades.

Saw this popped up on my timeline. I feel like I regretted it too but I definitely grew & learned a lot, took that wisdom with me & left. Not sure if I could ever go back knowing how people operate out there, how fake & competitive it is, and not really knowing how to move or understanding how other people do. It wasn’t a good alignment with my chart at all, tough placements, so my experiences there were hard.
LA is not one of the few cities that is fake and competitive. Just come to Atlanta and you’ll definitely see. I would say it is less competitive but it’s still competitive in Atlanta. It’s just fake overall and metro Atlanta. Metro Atlanta is more fake than Atlanta by the way
Great Vid my Brotha. I tell everybody out East,, “ BE RESPECTFUL WHEN YOU ARE IN LA because Cali is Another Country within Itself ”‼️ Born and Raised in LA( Inglewood to be Exact). I live in ATL and travel all over the US year round and it saddens me to see the conditions Los Angeles is in. I’m in LA 2 to 3 times a year checking on my Property and visiting family and Every 5 year increments it’s starting to like a place I never Knew. I was a skateboarder growing up and lived at Venice Beach, I appreciate the Skatepark but Venice and Santa Monica doesn’t even Feel or Looks the same. There are some things that I Do Love about LA that you just can’t Get out East or in Denver Colorado where I frequent. I’m well versed in Los Angeles Street Politics, so I tell Ppl, “ Keep your head on a swivel and it can Go Down anywhere in LA”. Long Beach to Beverly Hills. Guess I’ll save them for my trips when I’m visiting Brooklyn. 😆 You’re doing a great service by posting this video. I was shocked by how hostile things can get out here and how you can quickly find yourself in the middle of some foolishness through no fault of your own. I definitely keep my head on swivel out here. Gotta be mindful of your surroundings.
Moved to LA 5 years ago and leaving this year. I never knew LA could get this filthy and gross. Homeless encampments, mall robberies, weird unpredictable weather, and…tacos🥴Even Rodeo Drive looks stinky now. The beaches are disgusting unless you drive out to Malibu and even those beaches have become overcrowded and super expensive. You cannot walk barefoot on the beach because God knows what you’ll step on😢The quality of living is just not worth it. The air is dusty, the people act fake and rude, and I’m so tired of…tacos. There is a vibe of struggle and faking wealth out here that makes me feel very uncomfortable. There is no hope for the younger generations and most of them seem so unmotivated. Just sad. Issa no for me!
I grew up in the DC Area and have lived in the LA Area for a number of years. There are nice areas in both and not so nice areas in both. As far as crime, that's an issue in most major cities across the US: LA, NYC, Chicago, DC.
I moved to LA randomly. Went straight to the hood ( S. C. ) And no its okay to be in one place for to long because honestly if you arent gang related you wont be a 🎯. Straight up. Unless of course you purposely put yourself in a dangerous situation.
Solid advice 🤝🔥🔥
Exactly why u don't experience problems because u don't go to those areas, not that problems don't exist.
Same for me I'm from New Orleans been in los angels over 25 years love every second of it
Hollywood has been seedy for decades.

Yes, it means the Transformers are battling the Decepticons.

One more thing about California as someone who is black living here. The competition with the other groups in the workforce is insane. Less random type movement until you been here for some time. Best is to keep it simple / safe.

As an LA native, I agree
Fashooo keep ya circle small

You have money to be here once a month? What do you do😅,can you key us into the market?
@kevinfarmer5100
LA is very dangerous now. 😳 Break ins while people are home, like today in Mission Viejo. Very homeless, very filthy, expensive and unsustainable. You can get shot eating lunch in Beverly Hills. Not normal.... this guy isn't lying. I lived in LA for three decades. Glad I no longer do.
🤝🔥🔥
And these people keep voting Democrat. Some people just can't be helped.
LA was way worse back then what are you talking about?.....lol im glad people like you dont live here anymore.
Way too many people here. You got five people living in singles, and clogging up the parking everywhere.
Even though I’m a native to metro Atlanta, because that’s where I mainly grew up at, I do not like the area.
its not the same as any other big city
How is the public transportation? I'm thinking of moving there from Boston
@AdeebShabazz that's my dilemma boston has some of the best public transportation in the country. What about culver city?
Yeah you already know how to move then fasho
I visited new york last april 2023 being from l.a all my life. I also saw philly and new jersey.i went to a yankee game in a dodger jersey n hat , ppl were actually friendly to me and very talkative coney island was awesome i would rather live in the east coast .✌🏽
👉👍
NYC is not perfect but what I see & hear about LA its on a different scale. As a New Yorker we don't focus on where anyone is from we just go with the flow
They were friendly because a lot of them aren't native NYers but transplants
i ran away from LA, and moved to TN. Was born and raised my whole life, and LA is a pile its not glamorous unless youre able to live in 90210
Welcome to Tennessee. I'm from Chattanooga, TN.
have fun in TN LOL......
Remember you’re a refugee so vote and live in your new area responsibly.
Why'd u run
Like Chris Rock said, if you are in a place, where there are lots of women walking around in the day, going for coffee, going for Yoga, then you are fine
If you are in a place with lots of men walking around in the day, men riding bikes and talking in their gardens, with gym equipment then you need to get the hell out of there
😭😭😭😭😭😂
It's like that in every major city you got good areas and bad poor areas
Sounds like youre intelligent enough to be happy no matter where you are!!! I send you my best 🙏
I live outside of Albuquerque, there are a lot of negatives but it is extremely beautiful none the less. ✨
Imma Cali native 57 strong SCLA and L.A. was always bad buhh now the badness is spread everywhere it’s a lot of tension out here and it’s slowly being and gentrified . If y’all wanna visit pop in and pop out
Pop in nd out is the way to go 🤝🔥🔥
I live in LA.
Absolutely!
I’m from LA Ktown and I never wear anything nice for fear of getting robbed. I wear sweats, slippers, and a dodger cap. It’s kinda wild here.
That's sad...seems like a place to visit not live.
🤝🔥🔥
because places like NY and all of the east coast ship their homeless out here!!! VIRTUALLY none or very few homeless are actually even from LA let alone CA
What's sad is most of this stuff only apply to black people. Non black people get to be so carefree and it's unfair 😢 we can't never not worry.
Because white people generally don't rob or shoot you unless they are mass shooters.
brown people dont go thru it?
Curses
Ignorance
That’s only cos we exaggerate stuff and brag about our cities being tougher and more dangerous than other cities. We made it this way.
Stay away from compton, watts, Inglewood, south central, and north long Beach bro and you'll be alright.
He makes the whole city and county seem like those areas.
@BillOhio73 if you are white you'll be fine but black or other race have to be careful
I was born and raised in L.A, then I moved out in 2005 don't really miss it too much even though it's my home town
@GeorgieBG8 haven't been to corpus in probably 8 years or so. But Corpus is cool
🤘
@GeorgieBG8 wow ...that is crazy
@@jus3278Well we’re not gone completely just spread out throughout different areas …
California still has the 5th highest Black population in America with 2.3 million
In Los Angeles, the black population is centered around the Crenshaw /Inglewood area & Watts …
Than also alot of us moved to the high desert of Lancaster & Palmdale

Big facts
Its not covid tjat brought on the crime. Its bad policies that enable and incentivize criminals thats creating the crime surge.
That's too much work to live in LA. Thanks for the tips tho.
Sure is
Yeah you know I am glad La has never been the dream city for me. I have thought about moving to Cali but I think I am just going to visit and leave it at that.
I'm from LA native and it's always been dangerous, but you just know how to keep it moving and / or know where to go and not to go. I can tell you it's dangerous everywhere but gotta stay on point...
Stay ready so you don't have to get ready
So glad I live in the suburbs in the South. The deal with this garbage that just sounds like a nightmare having to watch out every corner and stuff sounds awful
It’s a handful to be honest
Suburban south is so boring though

One of the first things I noticed is how unambitious the LA natives are and denying the position our community is in. It is not an Atlanta or Detroit. It's more like 1955 Birmingham, Alabama but the oppressor is talking in Spanish.
Omg yes. They literally have no goals it feels like and just want to simmer in their own life filth.

ive lived in la for 6 years and i can assure you it is expensive but if you make at least 70k a year you can live nicely and it depends the place you live because some places are very safe about 30 to 40 percent of la is a bit dangerous but the rest is pretty safe. I make 120K a year, so i can live comfortably and i recommend if you make under 70K a year live in las vegas.
Other than being expensive asf...I like L.A. Just be respectful, and aware especially after dark. Plus, I don’t wear hoodies and ball caps...period.

Good video I just visited LA for the first time, and you are 100% right! Its the wild wild west out there.
I feel the experience for a black man in Los Angeles will be very different for the experience of a white passing blonde woman in Los Angeles You know honestly people in Los Angeles were really nice and I enjoyed my time The guys were really nice to me and would take me out buy me dinner and treat me really sweet. the girls were nice to me too...but then again I'm like really gorgeous so I guess that helps lmao.
Oh wow gee I wonder why 🙄😒🤦🏾♂️ LA aint safe for any male as you risk being robed, jumped, or worse. Yet, according to feminists males are privileged in this world. Smh
I think the experience of someone living in a city is their experience and unique to them. If you ask 20 black people how living in LA is, you’re likely to get 20 different answers.
"White passing?" what is that? if you look white then you have white.
I’m a dark skinned black woman and white guys spoil me everywhere I go. Pretty privilege is real regardless of color
"If you show someone respect, 9 times out of 10 you will get it back" ..I love that
That's a fact
It’s funny you say this because I’m black American and scared to leave America but will visit Detroit in the worse areas and not be scared😂😂😂
America is generally safe but yes, we have some issues. We have 330 million people. Most people won't see any of the things you mentioned. We don't have favelas and "devils breath" like South America.
South America is more dangerous than north America👍💯 south America =poverty, favelas, and a lot of violence.

Good advice except I wouldn't give people the nod personally
Police have not been defunded. They’ve been delusional, and you’re right there with them. Pathetic.
