I always knew Michael Giacchino would eventually work on a Star Wars movie. His music for the Metal Of Honor video-games were well crafted arrangements, all of which had that classical "John Williams" style to them, but his score for Rogue One wasn't his best work (imo). There were moments in the film that had familiar cues, but there wasn't anything really memorable. Another film composer worth mentioning is Conard Pope (John Williams' apprentice). I wonder if he'll ever get to work on a Star Wars film -- Would be interesting to see that happen.
Your Father Would Be Proud is easily top 10 of all time SW pieces. However, the true successor of SW music should still be Kevin Kiner, with pieces like Thrawn's True Face.
The soundtrack was ok, Michael Giacchino should really have let his own voice through a bit, it was after all nearly 15 years since he scored Medal of Honour.
The empire’s theme called “The Imperial Suite” is awesome!

Over the last 20 years he has really developed his own style
Best Disney sw film....doesn't say much but the film is good. To bad 7/8 had no innovation and just pandered to Lucas bashers.
Long live the prequels and The Clone Wars! (Microseries earns a spot as GL canon too in my eyes)
