Mobb Deep, the legendary Hip-Hop duo from Queensbridge, is celebrating the 25th anniversary of their iconic sophomore album “The Infamous” this year by releasing “The Infamous - 25th Anniversary Expanded Edition” which includes bonus tracks "Shook One, Part I" (Original Version) and Infamous Sessions Mixes of "The Money (Version 2)" and "Lifestyles Of The Infamous," now available digitally for the first time.
About The Infamous:
Originally released April 25, 1995 through RCA/Loud Records, The Infamous, Mobb Deep's second studio album, signified an important new sound and direction for East Coast hip-hop. Featuring contributions from illuminary guest artists including Nas, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, and Q-Tip, The Infamous marked Havoc and Prodigy's evolution from Queensbridge underground phenomenon to one of the most influential and successful duos in hip-hop, selling more than three million records. An immediate urban/pop crossover success, The Infamous entered the Billboard 200 at #15 and the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart at #3 the week of its release. The album generated four hit singles--"Shook Ones Pt. II," "Survival of the Fittest," "Temperature's Rising" and "Give Up the Goods (Just Step)"--and was certified RIAA gold in June 1995.

You Right I am so glad this was my prime party days today. It's like a Soaop Opera but you can at least accesss all the Old School so easily Wut Tang Forever
Mobb Deep beats are fucking insane!
bcs Havoc was god
Yeah Havoc is an underrated beat maker / producer.
why was? he died or what?
infernus42254 ofc
He moved on to produce fake ass r&b shit, trying to go comercial or something. So yes, was..
As a Heavy metal artist I have 1000% respect for Mobb Deep! Amazing art crosses all boundries! RIP
Your comment is fucking awesome and actually beautiful (hope ppl can understand the way I mean this)
Prodigy & Havoc were fucking masters at their craft I grew up with east coast rap and I got into metal in my teens, I was still a Wu Tang junkie tho. But as I have heard many others say, age & experience has shown me that Mobb Deep were the truest innovators maybe with exceptions to Nas and the more I listen back I realize that RZA took a lot of his style and sample choices with his beats right from Havoc. I mean I hate to say it so plain but fucking some of RZA esp. On the first solo albums of various members (Rae, ghost, method man etc) its like he was straight up BITING Mobb Deep production style. More than a few lyrics recycled and re worded from P and Havoc as well. Rae and Ghost were my fav rappers growing up too so it really leaves a bitter taste in my mouth saying this shit but honesty is a motherfucker and I gotta speak it true. Tbh I never had any idea just how much Mobb was copied and cloned by SO MANY RAPPERS AND PRODUCERS from their heyday, it honestly blows my mind looking at it now.
Sorry to anyone who read this fucking novel I just wrote but if you got this far, let me share some interesting facts. Prodigy wrote "Mac 10 Handle" on his solo album not only (" high on drugs," as he was willing to share in interviews) but at the time he stated he was watching a lot of Rob Zombies films and listening to White Zombie and similar music (I believe Pantera and Down!) He further stated that he loved the aesthetic of Zombie's movies and the imagery such as skulls along with the metal he was tuning into musically and it gave him the inspiration for not only the lyrics and production but also the music video!! Can you imagine Prodigy watching Rob Zombie movies!! So fucking cool! Shows how great artists often find one another's work to help fuel own their creativity too. Prodigy was never shy about talking about how Mobb Deep greatest songs were made either, he frequently said they were geeked out of their minds in a tiny project apt in Jamaica Queens when they wrote Shook Ones pt2 . As I have gotten older it's become obvious to me more so that Prodigy was a visionary beyond his time and one of the truly greatest rappers ever to be put to wax. Not only that but Mobb Deep had some of the darkest and most innovative beats to match his flow and Havoc. They were WAY ahead of their time in many ways. Even their best contemporaries couldn't keep up with how unscripted, raw and experimental they were - it took me a long time and a lot of listening to that period and many of those artists to come to that realization
RIP MOOP DEEP
Heavy metal 4 black people as they said.
Hey mellow out maaaan
Hell yeah, me too. I know a lotta heavy metal fans that respect 90’s era rap. They don’t make ‘em like they used to!
Prodigy is one of the very few rappers who talked about the street life and actually lived it.
The 1st to speak on illuminati & who runs the game & died for it. Tho he recruited millions into Mobb Deep ❤️🔥🔪🎯♟️
Prodigy's flow on this is beyond legendary. Mythical, no one can touch this.
N7 ABSOFUCKINLUTY
Rip
The beat is a real masterpiece, probably like a tailored suit for prodigy. If you really let it take you, it synchs your heart beat and breath pattern to it. Everyone can rhyme on that beat if he feels it , and has some talent. But that being said, Prodigy still aces it.

@@theripper1222 respect man! nothing has changed since my last comment, just bought Illmatic and I'm so proud of making my oldschool collection bigger!
THIS is the song that introduced me to hip hop. Word. I think I was 12 at the time. Somewhere in Africa, it was about 5PM and I was just changing channels aimlessly. I then landed on KBC Channel 1 and the song had played about halfway through. The ominous beat got me hooked. Since the remote was on my right arm, I just found myself placing it in contact with my chin, contemplating. I had to listen carefully. Then, "...N***a, please, don't make me have to risk my freedom." That was such a deep lyric. Still is. From then on, I looked for Mobb Deep's other projects, and I wasn't disappointed. Along the way, I got introduced to Nas, Snoop Dog, Ice Cube, and the like. The rest, as they say, is history. Hip hop for life.

I am glad that I purchased Albert Einstein album
P always got credit. In life and death. Very respected MC.
You ain’t alone my dude. I am 44 and capital P is the second best lyricist after Nas.
@@cibida1 He did get credit for his lyrical skills, but I think he should’ve been classified as one of top tier goats. I think he was overlooked by some.
@AMCFTP7 You missed the point, yes he did but when you hear most rappers give there opinion his name is never mentioned not all rappers but a good portion of older rappers, I know what his skill set was and his old lyrics are still better than most
1:46 - 1:58 is one of the coldest camera sequences in a rap video I’ve ever seen. Feels like art

The song first surfaced on a DJ Clue mixtape and it was called White Lines. It’s didn’t have the piano and it didn’t have Havoc on the hook. It simply had Prodigy’s 3 verses.

Sometimes I wonder if this line "if you make mine stop growing I'll make your blood stop flowing" was a shot at 2Pac for that "my 44 make sho all your kids don't grow" line.
Great catch on that bar. I doubt it, but it’s possible. This was written in 97, so not even that long after Pac’s death. I think he was more so just speaking in jest as opposed to a shot at a dead man
