    Awesome trip! I'm jealous of all those old coins! It's difficult to come across stuff like in Texas, but there is still a ton of history here as well. I'm still hoping to score some Spanish silver one day!

    Coins with a hole in them are usually because they have been nailed to the top of the door frame to give luck and prosperity when leaving or coming into the house. It was a common thing to do back in the 19th century.

    Haven't looked thru all the comments, but the pendant could be garnet. Semi-precious, common in older jewelry. The irregular form means it's more likely an older piece, hand faceted rather than machine, which puts it in the 1800s, more likely in the earlier half. Garnet jewelry was popular, as it could be worn even during mourning.

    I had high hopes for this machine but it doesn’t seem like Garrett tried to improve the audio tones at all on the Vortex. Not sure what your settings were but the target separation also seemed a bit slow.

    • @MD-NWWI
      @MD-NWWI Месяц назад +5

      Yep he mentioned that the production model would have different sound and recovery speed. His is a prototype model and is different than what we'll be getting.

      @TheHistoryDigger1 no problem! There's lots of misinformation out there regarding the Vortex line. I have high hopes that it will in fact give the competition a run for their money!

  • @travismitchell9637
    @travismitchell9637 Месяц назад +1

    You say the tones are not the production tones and alot of feedback I've seen is that first impression most do not like the audio tones. Since I haven't used one I can't say one way or the other but would be nice if you could either custom pick a tone or if their was at least a multi-tone option on the VX9. Also haven't seen a video yet showing how the VDI responds when you have a trashy/low vdi target next to a high/good vdi target.

    Don’t sugar coat your True analysis of the machine. A good honest tester will tell Garret both the good and the BAD that needs to be corrected on the machine. It will cost you some free merchandise because companies don’t really care to know the bad aspects of their products, but you will still be able to call yourself an honest tester.
