    Very innovative great job I’ll have to test one out. Can I buy the bracket alone? Saw your site only offers it with a coil

    Remember guys that advance is always against distributor rotation or in this case flywheel rotation

    I love the video where the guy was trashing the bracket talking about it adjusted timing in the wrong direction and we all jumped in and trying to explain it to him and he never once said thanks guys for setting me straight so I understand how it works. He must have felt like an asshole.

    Hey, Paul, love your videos. You make great products . Have you seen these people on Facebook? Promoting CDI kits for small blocks. Were you use a 12 V drill battery? I got another question. What do you think of those auto lites gapless plugs?

    • @paulskartslifan4206
      @paulskartslifan4206  8 месяцев назад +2

      I think csi is cool but also kinda bulky. You really don’t see any power gains with a cdi on these since it’s mainly the total timing being correct that makes them run there best. The cdi does have some cool features like allowing a timing variance down low but no power is really going to be made down there in that rpm range. If these engines had gear box and trans they would possibly see some ° of assistance of a cdi but still very minor changes in power down low in rpm range. If you use a single state ignition like a standard coil the ignition timing does not vary, it’s steady at whatever it’s set to. So if you want 32° total timing at high rpm to make the most power the coil if set to 32° timing works at peak performance at high rpm. You would put the same total timing into a cdi system. The k my variable would be that it would ramp up to that total timing number. So at low rpm it won’t have 32° timing in it it would have say 25° and ramp up to 32° at high rpm. The mere is only a tickle on the dyno at low rpm timing changes. And I’m talking a fraction of a fraction of hp. So for the cost / setup/ battery maintenance and weight and bulk of wiring Id really have to consider other options.
      The autolight ar3910x plugs are not good in these engines .. I sound like Debbie downer here lol but I’m just trying to give my honest experience. The autolight plug is way too cold of a spark plug. It’s going to throw your tune off if trying to tune by the spark plug like you should do. I also prefer a electrode strap because that gives you valuable cues to your ignition timing. So I’d say scrap the autolight ar3910x and get a better more in the heat range of your engine kind of plug. Now I do like the E3 plugs. Check those out

    I've heard that stock and cast aluminum flywheels are pretty well worthless beyond 28* due to weak magnets, is this true?

    • @jimhertel5125

      They have been known to explode

    • @Deucealive75
      @Deucealive75 8 месяцев назад

      Did they mention what they had the coil gap set at? At one point I recall seeing the Honda spec for the cast aluminum flywheel. I don't remember the spec but do remember that it was pretty small. 16 or 18 thou maybe.
      The cheap cast aluminum flywheels are ok except that they have 18-20 degrees of timing. I used one recently and just timed it without a key. Recently I seen these that the seller says have 28 degrees of timing and they are more expensive than the others. Years ago I got a "genuine Honda" cast aluminum from NR racing. It didn't have any timing like the cheap ones you can get these days and looks identical.

      @amandarego9684 8 месяцев назад

      I want to know if those cheap cast aluminum flywheels can be advanced beyond 28 degrees and carry enough power in their weaker magnets to produce adequate power for spark. I was told not to bother advancing them past 28, just looking for a second opinion

      Coil gap set at 0.020 on the ones I have

      @@amandarego9684 You should continue to ask around but mine seem to do ok at 32 degrees with no indication of an inadequate spark. I just time to what the cam calls for and run them.

    Make one fora pvl coil

    • @paulskartslifan4206
      @paulskartslifan4206  8 месяцев назад

      Pretty sure you can mount the pvl bracket to this bracket just like you mount it to the block. It uses stock mounting position so in theory it would work.

    I’ve seen a video where the guy was saying the bracket is junk because it retards the timing. 🤦‍♂️Seriously? Think about which way the engine rotates.

    I am looking to order one for my build but heard of issues with coil spacing and it being spaced to far out even in the video the coil doesn't look to be in line with the flywheel magnet is this potentially a issue on a different flywheel and crank like a on a predator 212 non or is a billet flywheels magnet still strong enough to trigger the coil even if it is out of alinement

    • @paulskartslifan4206
      @paulskartslifan4206  8 месяцев назад +5

      This is the EC flywheel , this flywheel has a split face design and a smaller magnet than the arc flywheel. But even with this off set type flywheel it still has all it needs to fire the coil. The bracket is 5/16” thick and we recommend to remove 1/4” from the bosses on the block. So the dif is only 1/16” or half a fingernail thickness. Even if you don’t cut the bosses and the coil sticks out 5/16” it still works. There is no setup of flywheel type or block or coil that wont work even without cutting bosses. But we like to get things back into stock position by cutting the bosses down. It’s all in the instructions and there is a video of how to install these as well. Good question. Glad to answer those. 💪👍✅😎
