With how opinion-based these kinds of lists tend to be, I’m genuinely amazed with how much I agree with this countdown. Maybe a few songs could be switched here and there, but this was really great!
No I hate this new style it was way better 10 years ago. Todays hardstyle is just putting some euphoric melodies in. seems like the producers are just making some random notes to a melody so it sounds a bit diffrent from the other mainstream hardstyle tracks. There is nothing special or original about it just pushing hardstyle into the mainstream to earn more money. No catching melodies, no feeling, lazily executed songs. Back then you have 4 minutes pure music, today you have 3 minutes where 2 minutes are filled with unnecessery vocals and breaks, today you wait whole 2 minutes just to hear drop Whats that? Just business, not passion for the music Sorry for my bad english
10 years ago was the era of "CLASSIC HARDSTYLE" and uk dude nothing stays the same and today's hardstyle isn't that bad, it's actually good IMO there's a lot of different stuff like kicks and tones and everything and im enjoying it tbh :)
@@fredericsiemoneit8358 if you check out Hardstyle from 10 years ago, the build up didn't changed that much (the two tracks that come into mind for me about 2009 are Tonight and Ctrl.Alt.Del, so I'm referring to tracks like that). I would agree tho that an early Hardstyle track is more danceable, as there isn't that much waiting for a climax. The style is wider than ever, I don't feel like it's going mainstream as we're getting harder again with for example szp or Phuture Noize when it's about the big tracks in the scene. But you could go to the more "underground" sound as well, Spoontech eg is still something different, there are many many artists under the radar that are producing amazing music.

But whats the point about having nice kicks which are not fitting to the melody. Furthermore, the reverse bass is completly disappearing, generally recent songs have less bass (i think). So my conclusion is that songs become "emptier" and less "danceable" because of long breaks, missing reverse bass, unnessesery and annoying lyrics, and equal sounding melodies. And I will check out Spoontech for sure. :")

Missing Reverse Bass is really a tragedy, it's one of the most danceable beats out there considering all electronic music. I think what do the trick are some "darker" melodies. Or returning to the old style, Devin Wilds new track Mind Bending is really oldschoolish.

Don Diablo's style is getting boring, but this year was a good year for hardstyle and psytrance. However this was KSHMR's worst year yet (which is not saying much, since every release is godlike), but he has released few songs this year. Hope he will release more in 2019. PS: Neverland deserves way higher, so does Carry Me Home.
Yeah I agree on kshmr...also I wasn't a big fan of most of his tracks this year except Neverland. In my opinion his new progressive sounds pretty generic and also house of cards was more pop than EDM...
imo KSHMR had good tracks this year but it didn't have a heavy impact because of the number of songs.... he released like a tiny amount but the fact that almost all of em made it into the vid is pretty cool tho :) and Mike Williams had a blast this year he was fire!!!
