I don't think that makes you a bitter old person because it's actually sort of an objective fact. There were actually a lot of qualities to the tracks produced during this era which, in a musical sense, make it superior to a majority of the electronic music produced these days. Better use of layering and chord progression, composers who actually understood how to apply music theory and write interesting melodies, the culture surrounding the music... it was all a lot better back then than it is now. Not really sure why it went the direction it did tbh

@@fennekinlovers1964 i dont think hate. Future bass was already in EDM scene before it was gotten popular, mainstream DJs on his reason idk. I think not hate but criticizm on future bass artist for jumping to it cuz its easy and trendy. Mainstream DJs like calvin harris, martin, tiesto, etc chase for the money, other reason is that why they left the things they use to make are because of pressure and the recordings they got signed (example martin garrix, nicky romero from spinnin records). They got pressured from the recordings and after the contract expired, they made their own recording to release their own track or other artist. (Thats my view)
@@fennekinlovers1964 of course he has a reason. I have been a long time follower.... He hates ghostproduced Artists He hates radio intended cheesy pop songs which come out with edm artists name on it He loves future bass(u kidding me bro? U haven't watched much if u say he hates future bass) I am more like him and find myself listening to all genres of music.. I am cool with artists experimenting & shit And I hate some mainstream listeners who doesn't give other genres a chance and downright hates them for no praticular reason U can feel it when an artist does a song from their heart vs money motivated songs He gets that. That is what being an OG is...here for the fun & music...not for the business... This guy is somewhat that ... Top edm was the only person who gets that back in the days
scalop 2014 was my best year in recent time too, I remember I was in a house party and someone connected the aux cord to their phone and played Reload, I Shazamed it and that’s when I was introduced to this universe, miss the old days.
I knew the Song ''Levels'' basically throughout my entire life so far and I Always liked it, but I never knew it was by Avicii and had this name. I always thought it would just be called ''sometimes'', as I once recorded it from the Radio and always listened to it this way. Thanks you so much for telling me the real name❤️ Btw I realised throughout the Video how many EDM Songs I already knew and loved without knowing they were actual EDM and not just popmusic or whatever I assumed... 100% great Video, 100% worth watching (at least for me)
Idk what happened to EDM... I may sound like a boomer, but imho 2010-2014 were golden years of it. I still remember when ppl in my class used to blast SHM- Don’t you worry child or Headhunterz- Dragonborn( This got me into Hardstyle and I am loving it) . I really miss old EDM and wish to go back in time to experience this type of happiness again.
Early 10s nostalgia in dance music. When you make a part two please inclode example - changed the way you kiss me and some of his other hits like stay awake and kidstarts. And swedish house mafia save the world. Inna's old hit songs and alexandra stan mr saxobeat and edward maya - stereo love. And some of calvin harris's old stuff from early 10s.
This speaks to high school me on such a spiritual level. Happy there’s some of these guys still throwing these nuggets into their sets. Seeing Alesso in September and Zedd + Eric Prydz at Ezoo long live prog and electro!
the era of the 2000s was very crazy, with music by Dj Splash, Bass-T and several more in clubs and raves, hahaha and with wide and reflective pants, good times those... you don't think the same?
This was my childhood an all I ever dreamt about was going to edm festivals. Of course the styles and my taste changed but I will always stay true to edm.
I miss music like this being more popular. When I was younger I didn't care as much for it because it was mainstream, but listening to it now I love it and appreciate it so much... I want it all back, especially some good progressive house hits. Progressive house is my absolute favorite!!!
The 2011-2015 period were the golden era of EDM. Lots and lots of quality electronic songs week after week. The era was ignited by the Swedish DJ's like Avicci, Axwell, ingrosso etc.. their songs started to get huge airplays in USA, thus started to take over the mainstream music, competed with pop music and at a point of time even mainstream pop music was losing to edm. That was the standard of these DJ's. The era was dominated by mostly European producers like Avicci, Calvin Harris, Martin Garrix, Hardwell, Tiesto, Afrojack, Robin Schulz, Alesso, showteck, Nicky Romero and many other. Avicci and Calvin Harris seemed like the flag bearers of the era with their many smash hits. Swedish House Mafia dissolved before Axwell and ingrosso started making music as duo, they were also one of the key figures of the era. Dutch DJ's Hardwell, Afrojack and Tiesto had huge success with their songs getting in to Billboard charts and New faces like Martin Garrix and Alesso were big hit from the very start and went on to become so huge by the end of the era. Music festivals like Tomorrowland and ultra music festival became the biggest festivals of the decade which helped edm to become a culture worldwide and helped to regain its long lost glory. House music was the king. Electro, progressive, bigroom, deep and tropical house songs were all over the charts. New artist kygo from Norway increased the legacy of the era by give great tropical house classics .kygos arrival was during the last year's of the golden age and continued his success past the era The era also had great number of Drum n bass,Dubstep, hardstyle hits which showed the diversity of golden age. The golden age came to an end when producers started featuring for mainstream pop artists for dance pop songs which have mostly a future bass or trap drop eg: Martin Garrix, Dimitri Vegas and chainsmokers whose new hits which were mostly future bass and trap which were well recieved . The shift from the major house sound to the hip-hop trap, future bass kind of sound was evident. There were many good artists in these like chainsmokers but all producers somehow tried different styles which were not as catchy or impactful as their previous hits. Still, Calvin Harris enjoyed success with club edm sound, kygo was becoming huge but the huge number in dutch and Swedish House songs declined and the industry was inclined towards a different sound Mumble rap came in to scene and a horrific trap sound ruled the industry for some years . Only a few artists like Alan Walker, kygo and new artists like marshmelo was able to hit some sweet spot. Marshmello sucsses proved that trap and future bass sounds are now the ruling sound of the industry during late 2010s . But by then the golden age signature house sound faded away. If you ask a music critics of 2010 that what was the highlight of the decade, you most probably get the answer EDM Definitely edm was the gamechanger ,an explosion in to the scene which wa predicted by many artists a long time ago, And the result was gold. The era gave great memories to music fans especially electronic music fans to cherish forever. Hardcore edm fans believe that the era is not at all dead and it's in it's dormant stage and waiting for a huge comeback♥️ hope so😊

I don't like Top EDM channel... he is giving hate to genres like future bass and mainstream Djs without reason
@@fennekinlovers1964 yeah, thats right, but at least he used to "feature" pretty unknown dj's and songs, and thats why i miss it 🙂
@@fennekinlovers1964 i dont think hate.
He hates ghostproduced Artists
He hates radio intended cheesy pop songs which come out with edm artists name on it
He loves future bass(u kidding me bro? U haven't watched much if u say he hates future bass)
I am more like him and find myself listening to all genres of music..
I am cool with artists experimenting & shit
And I hate some mainstream listeners who doesn't give other genres a chance and downright hates them for no praticular reason
U can feel it when an artist does a song from their heart vs money motivated songs
He gets that. That is what being an OG is...here for the fun & music...not for the business...
This guy is somewhat that ...
Top edm was the only person who gets that back in the days

Definitely the best year for edm. You had The Days/Nights by Avicii, Listen by David Guetta, and Afrojack’s Forget the World, just to name a few.
I knew the Song ''Levels'' basically throughout my entire life so far and I Always liked it, but I never knew it was by Avicii and had this name. I’m glad you put sunshine by David Guetta and Avicii on here. I do feel that it should be known better since it’s such an awesome track :)

Listening this I'm feeling very nostalgic 😢
New artist kygo from Norway increased the legacy of the era by give great tropical house classics .kygos arrival was during the last year's of the golden age and continued his success past the era
The era also had great number of Drum n bass,Dubstep, hardstyle hits which showed the diversity of golden age.
Still, Calvin Harris enjoyed success with club edm sound, kygo was becoming huge but the huge number in dutch and Swedish House songs declined and the industry was inclined towards a different sound
Mumble rap came in to scene and a horrific trap sound ruled the industry for some years . Only a few artists like Alan Walker, kygo and new artists like marshmelo was able to hit some sweet spot.
Marshmello sucsses proved that trap and future bass sounds are now the ruling sound of the industry during late 2010s .
But by then the golden age signature house sound faded away. If you ask a music critics of 2010 that what was the highlight of the decade, you most probably get the answer EDM
Definitely edm was the gamechanger ,an explosion in to the scene which wa predicted by many artists a long time ago, And the result was gold. The era gave great memories to music fans especially electronic music fans to cherish forever.
Hardcore edm fans believe that the era is not at all dead and it's in it's dormant stage and waiting for a huge comeback♥️ hope so😊
Lol I still listening to half of these songs on the daily lmao 😂
