I usually got a mod to get more uses out of the ritual stone rather than once a day...like 3 times I think is how I used it. It’s a nice power to have. You can even raise giants and some really odd things.
I love your videos I've been enthralled by the elderscrolls since morrowind on my original xbox way back when and all the insight and information on the lore and mechanics of the series is always a wonderful time sink. thank you!
I just finished this quest last night. one of my favorite quest so far. I played this game for 3 years yet never touch this quest until last night. awesome video I love the lore!
Makes me want to make a character obsessed with the dwemer especially since they have so many good quest like the one that let's you upgrade dwarven armor permanently
I've done this quest four times in the last month alone - it's one of my favourite. Great dungeons, story, you get a great weapon early on, and an awesome reward at the end. Oh, and be smarter than me: make sure you and/or your follower can do frost damage for the final battle against the Forge Master. Also, have some fire resistance gear. Otherwise, that battle takes a long time, playing on Legendary difficulty.
fun fact, when steel is melted down and recast its propertys change back to inferior cast iron. now considering that all dwemer weapons and armor in tamriel are likely recast from melting down dwemer metal scraps its very likely that the original dwemer metal as forged by the dwemer through lost metallurgy techniques is equal or maybe even superior to 4rth era ebony forging and the dwemer equipment the player can make is just made from dwemer cast iron
I always choose the crown and if anyone needs to know how to encounter Taron Dreth just wander the roads of Skyrim or occasionally check the Silver-Blood Inn in Markarth. He’s a random encounter so it can take a while but it’ll happen. And he has hired bodyguards that go down like punks but he uses fireballs so as long as you have potions or are just at a high enough level that fireballs do almost nothing you’ll pretty much just murder him. Btw, his robes are actually really good if you’re a destruction wizard like me so don’t forget to loot him!
The Dwemer are awesome, it'd be amazing to have a flashback mission in ESO or TeS6 showing some battle, possibly the battle of red mountain? We've seen the alieids so it's possible
From Morrowind to Skyrim I have always loved delving into Dwemer ruined cities and collecting some nice items to use as decor and trophies. I was bummed they didn't have Dwemer ruins in Oblivion. But I did enjoy the Ayleid ruins in oblivion all the same.
Yeah the circlet is about the only thing that makes sense. Making your enemies aetherial is pointless since you could just as easily do it to yourself with a shout, and summoning a sphere can't be better than a permanent follower or some other conjured up to fight with you.
I have over a thousand hours in this game and I can say it is overrated. The game is fun, but has a lot of annoying flaws that would kill it if not for the mods. The same with Fallout games, Bethesda's half games are always being saved by its community. Definetly not one of the best, but one of the most loved by the crowd.
@@orangejuiceenthusiast8364 Oblivion is good and it had some stuff I like that Skyrim doesn't but Skyrim is definitely more well rounded without all the bugs of Oblivion also the story is kinda tedious with just closing like 20 Oblivion gates. You've never run across the apprentice? I have, through several play-throughs. He has a little gang of Mercs with him and he tries to silence you and take the item you just forged.
really the crown is the best. but i can see how the other could be good also. shield is handy for crowd control, taking enemies outta the fight for a bit. the scepter is cool just for being able to summon dwemer spheres.
Jenasa: “The Dwemer were also called ‘dwarves’ although there is no evidence that they were any shorter than other elves” while standing between a foot tall Dwemer bench and a five foot long Dwemer bed.
There is a way to meet the apprentice. He recognizes the artifacts and with his guards they attempt to kill you to prevent you from testifying against them. Ooor because he’s mad with power over aetherium too
Currently need to be studying but actually going on a FudgeMuppet Elder Scrolls binge. Why can't my Human Factors and Ergonomics exam just be all about the Dwemer ?
PLEASE!!! There is a perfect modded build to go with this video! Using your usual starter set of mods, along with the Aetherium Armor and Weapons Compilation by lautasantenni would make for an awesome character
Lately no matter how many times I set off the trap to get to the aethrium shard in the place that you meet katria the dwarven centurion will not come out but the ballistas will keep on getting reloaded.
I had a small theory that the Dwemer were still alive. In black reach there is that huge yellow light...ball thing. When you use your shout, a dragon can emerge. So I thought that maybe something big happened (war?) causing the Dwemer to create the ball which would preserve them until safe to return. The dragon emerges because you spoke it's language. So perhaps the dwemer are inside, waiting for someone to come and release them.
I think aetherium can be compared to Uranium or Plutonium or even thorium because it was classified as an ore and it glowed blue. Can't get much more obvious a connection than that. I mean just look at the suffix of all of the words its right there. So essentially they had a war over nuclear materials whilst everyone else was just surviving the harsh skyrim land.
I just did the quest with Katria. Funny thing is i've been level 80 for years because I never really play anymore. Just found her randomly when I loaded up the game 2 weeks ago. And then I find this video randomly wtf :).

*Meanwhile* “Let me guess, someone stole your sweet roll?”
That transition from thumbnail to video was so smooth.
fun fact, when steel is melted down and recast its propertys change back to inferior cast iron.
now considering that all dwemer weapons and armor in tamriel are likely recast from melting down dwemer metal scraps its very likely that the original dwemer metal as forged by the dwemer through lost metallurgy techniques is equal or maybe even superior to 4rth era ebony forging and the dwemer equipment the player can make is just made from dwemer cast iron
So Dwemers are an ancient race of cryptocurrency miners?
I always choose the crown and if anyone needs to know how to encounter Taron Dreth just wander the roads of Skyrim or occasionally check the Silver-Blood Inn in Markarth. He’s a random encounter so it can take a while but it’ll happen. And he has hired bodyguards that go down like punks but he uses fireballs so as long as you have potions or are just at a high enough level that fireballs do almost nothing you’ll pretty much just murder him. Btw, his robes are actually really good if you’re a destruction wizard like me so don’t forget to loot him!
Elder scroll 76...
The biggest liar in the history come on man........ Come on
The biggest liar in the history get out of here with your false promises and half ass games
Just did this quest (again)
Quite enjoyable, & you get great gear at the end
I always choose the crown for the double Standing Stone bonus
The Dwemer are awesome, it'd be amazing to have a flashback mission in ESO or TeS6 showing some battle, possibly the battle of red mountain? We've seen the alieids so it's possible
in all my years of skyrim I have never seen this place, and I can say I've played this game A LOT .
Notice how stalarium and Atheruem are a lot alike? Just one is physical and the other is magical. Imagine melting the two into a weapon.
*Evil laugh*
From Morrowind to Skyrim I have always loved delving into Dwemer ruined cities and collecting some nice items to use as decor and trophies. I was bummed they didn't have Dwemer ruins in Oblivion. But I did enjoy the Ayleid ruins in oblivion all the same.
It would’ve been interesting to see what you could’ve done with Atherium if you were able to take it to Skyforge, or the Lunar forge.
I thought the Deathbrand armor was strong until I battled some leveled castle vampires
Thankfully the subtitles were on, it's quite hard to hear Katria :S
This is my favorite quest in the game. I usually try holding off doing it but the items are good to have early if possible, I usually get the crown.
I've played skyrim so many times and never knew this
Aetherium crown is the best item.
I didn’t know about this quest before when I started playing, so I was very glad to stumble upon it.
To think a game still gets so much love... 7 years after its release. Pretty cool!
Yeah the circlet is about the only thing that makes sense. Making your enemies aetherial is pointless since you could just as easily do it to yourself with a shout, and summoning a sphere can't be better than a permanent follower or some other conjured up to fight with you.
I just started this quest this morning lol good timing
2011 game and still one of the best
Jeff Cavaliere's Red Marker
inb4 the morrowind and oblivion fans start jacking over their opinions here.
lmao never played so idk
I have over a thousand hours in this game and I can say it is overrated. The game is fun, but has a lot of annoying flaws that would kill it if not for the mods. The same with Fallout games, Bethesda's half games are always being saved by its community. Definetly not one of the best, but one of the most loved by the crowd.
@@orangejuiceenthusiast8364 Oblivion is good and it had some stuff I like that Skyrim doesn't but Skyrim is definitely more well rounded without all the bugs of Oblivion also the story is kinda tedious with just closing like 20 Oblivion gates. Morrowind is cool but the graphics make it borderline unplayable along with the random lag and bugs. Skyrim is the best of the three but not by much.
@@dokscy44 anyone who wastes a thousand hours of their life playing a single video game DOES NOT have the ability to call it over rated. Clearly it is the best game you have ever played. I shudder to think how many hours you have sunk into whatever game you think is the best.... drink some orange juice go outside. 😂
Imagine if the chimer won the war by using an elder scroll ? Maybe they sent the dwemer into the future like the blades did with alduin
What good story telling and camera work
Good work!!
This man’s voice kills me to sleep the same way Jim Dale used to reading Harry Potter when I was a kid.
When I was first playing Skyrim I avoided dwemer ruins cause I knew I would die a lot so I just didn’t go in them
You've never run across the apprentice? I have, through several play-throughs. He has a little gang of Mercs with him and he tries to silence you and take the item you just forged.
Really?
0:55 ,,Places like Markarth have been repurposed to suit modern day Nedes" - beautiful pun :D
What the hell. I've finished Skyrim multiple times and never knew about any of this. You're a good story teller by the way.
These videos put me to sleep every night. Very good bedtime stories
really the crown is the best. but i can see how the other could be good also. shield is handy for crowd control, taking enemies outta the fight for a bit. the scepter is cool just for being able to summon dwemer spheres.
Being a lore junky, I cant get enough knowledge about myths, legends, and anything TES related. Consider that sub button hit :)
Thanks for this video - it's really above and beyond.
This is The only channel that actually makes great Skyrim videos.
Thank you so much for enjoying what we make :D
Ohh that melody,Perfect World :D
Got the piece in the storeroom after wondering by after an alternate start. Got in and had no idea what it was.
OMG - I have never found that Zephir bow in that quest - Need to go back right now!
You can get the shield, you can get the staff, or you can make the right decision
Fun fact: if you loot her body and take her armor, she will say "you could have left me with some dignity" or along those lines.
Ooor because he’s mad with power over aetherium too
You can actually meet and talk to the last Dwemer, deep under the mountains of Vvardenfell
Currently need to be studying but actually going on a FudgeMuppet Elder Scrolls binge. Why can't my Human Factors and Ergonomics exam just be all about the Dwemer ?
Incidentally this is the only occurance of lava or magma in all of Skyrim. Not even a bit on Solstheim
PLEASE!!! There is a perfect modded build to go with this video! Using your usual starter set of mods, along with the Aetherium Armor and Weapons Compilation by lautasantenni would make for an awesome character
Fun fact - If you loot the armour from Katria's body her ghost gets pissed off at you.
Knew it was going to be great once I saw the title. Love you guys. :)
You can actually find taren dreth and kill him in game. For me he was near riften .
With some bulking up, Aetherium could have rightly been a standalone game unto itself.
it would be cool if bethesda made a 1 hour documentary style movie on the dwemer and what was going on in the atheruim war
There was 1 Dwemer still alive in Morrowind, though, he was infected by Corprus. There was also a Dwemer ghost.
What is Aetherium? Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more
Lately no matter how many times I set off the trap to get to the aethrium shard in the place that you meet katria the dwarven centurion will not come out but the ballistas will keep on getting reloaded.
I remember starting this quest line back then. I believe I only got half way though before getting sidetracked :/
I couldn't find on of the pieces and gave up
Hi thanks for your vid it’s amazing
Thank you for watching!!!
1:50 hang on, hang on, "The Banoffee Mountains", OK get me a map i'm going
I believe that Aertherium is a magical power source, that rivals or surpasses the use of souls.
etherium is a crypto
Lol
Edor Prime Aetherium is not a crypto
I know I say this almost every video but nice vid
Thanks for all the support!
I love these videos, going into Skyrim side quests!
What in Aetherium is Aetherium!
The tonal resonators don't need the spell to be from the destruction school. I've activated them with Magelight.
I do believe I never did this quest. Time to dust off the CD and begin the journey again.
Got a mpd to keep Katria as a follower. Best NPC ever.
This questline is broken for me. Katrina never shows up. Im on pc. Any advice on how to possibly fix it?
I just did the quest with Katria. Funny thing is i've been level 80 for years because I never really play anymore. Just found her randomly when I loaded up the game 2 weeks ago. And then I find this video randomly wtf :).
