Well done, Christy! I entered the system at 9 and eventually aged out of foster care. I'm 31. One of my foster moms, a white woman, though is an amazing person and didn't make me feel any different than the other kids, she didn't do my hair, teach me about black history, or the reality of racism I'd experience professionally and personally. Out of all of the homes I lived in, her home was the best, yet as I watch your channel, it takes me down memory lane to think about the what-ifs. Hopefully your kids receive balanced care that'll equip them for the real world. God bless 💖🙏🏿

Great video ! Your babies hair looks so healthy ! I’ve been caring for my 8 year old granddaughters hair - I have her thru adoption also ! I’ve gained so much info over the past years watching your videos and now Vanessa is loving her hair . Prior to being with me - when she Wld just visit - she hated her hair and would cry begging me to “give her my kind of hair” 😥 (straight hair) . But now she embraces her hair (and her gorgeous skin!)
I looked at Amazon for this product and wow you couldn’t be more correct, it’s expensive!!
I’ve been homeschooling Vanessa and took an early retirement so I can be home and give her all the emotional support she so needs .
But I think I will save a little here and there and hopefully purchase this at Christmas time or soon after for her 9th birthday!!
Thank you SO much for reviewing this - I would not have ever considered such a big purchase without this video !! Much love to you and your beautiful family!!!

I’m a black woman adopted by a white couple in the whitest state in America. My mom didn’t have access to videos like this when she was raising me. She resorted to asking strangers in the aisles of Sally’s and researching black salons. There was only one near us (and was still an hour away) and I got my hair relaxed by an older black man for a few years. I’m super tender-headed and screamed bloody murder any time my mom tried to even part my hair. I’ve learned a lot as an adult but don’t have the patience for my hair that most other black women do because they grew up going through this process. This is so beautiful to watch and I wish I’d been more patient and understanding with my mom growing up so we could’ve learned together. Thank you!

That's beautiful I'm impressed, thank you for educating others. I remember as a child how my mother would take care of me and my two sister's hair. It was a full-time chore for her and she couldn't wait until we got into our preteens, so that we could do our own hair. What she didn't understand was that, black hair was hard to do not only for adults but for a child. And to follow all of the steps to keep our hair soft and moist, was a challenge back then in the 70's and 80's. Not because we didn't have all of the products that we needed, because we did. What we needed in our homes was a family member who had their PHD in African American hair care. My mom did her best to teach us, but she missed the most important steps, which was to sprits the hair with water and to seal and lock the hair with an oil base product to keep the moisture locked in. So thank you for educating those of us who are missing certain steps when it comes to hair care. 👌 💘

Just to inform you a little on the trimming our hair already grows at a slower rate than others so we only need a trim only once every 3-4 months sometimes we over cut and stunt growth and it may look like the hair isn’t growing but it just keeps getting cut but I love watching you do this your very educated

@@ChristyGior8 I just meant that sometimes when blow drying product can weight the hair down, texture doesn’t play a huge role since the blowdryer is “straightening” or “blowing out their natural texture” . I have similar texture to your youngest one in the video and have been natural for about a year. But I did straighten my hair a lot before my natural hair journey and went through a ton of trail and error when blow drying as I learned my hair and which product worked best. It’s a never ending journey and your girls are lucky to have you 👸🏽👸🏽👸🏼

I literally love your channel like literally because I know so many mothers and it's not even about race I know black mothers who would not take the time to do their children's hair at all because they don't like their hair and they just put braids in it or they neglected but the fact that you on top of everything being a white woman in learning how to do your black daughter's hair and it does not lose curls this is coarse hair and you learn how to do it and this is why I tell people coarse hair is not hard to manage even though people try to pretend like it is you can learn how to do hair it just takes more effort

You may have a point. I am a Black woman with wavy hair. My mother's did my hair when I was a kid. I started doing my own hair about 11 or 12. I wanted to start going to a salon. I was a mystery to salons. The Black salons didn't know what to do because I didn't want or need a relaxer or pressing. The White salons were confused because my hair was wavy and not straight. I found a Mexican hairdresser that did my hair for years.
