Nice little ending with the family enjoying your catch! I'll never forget my 1st year coming down 13 years ago and buying a 1 week saltwater fishing license and a setup up to fish on the beach. I had no clue what I was doing but caught several whiting and a couple of pompano. I wasn't sure yet what to keep or not and just did catch and release all week. We stopped at Gulf Shores Sea Food Market on the way out of town to take home some royal reds and saw the pompano filets were the most expensive filet they had displayed and I've been hooked ever since. I talked about those damn filets I threw back for a year until we came back!! 13 years later our setup is 6 poles and the kids love it! We missed the grand opening by a week this year but can't wait to come visit next year!
It's on my bucket list to get down there and spend a week surf fishing. Just gotta get my brother to agree. Awesome you can get your family into surf fishing.
Hey love your videos as well as Brant and Bamma's. Have a suggestion, though! Yall should take a bit of time to show what you use and how you tie the leaders, how to properly use the setups and so on. Call it "tech time". Lol

I love watching kids do a taste test. Kids aren't gonna BS you. If they tear it up, it's good. I get my youngest son to taste all kinds of wild mushrooms I pick and he's brutally honest haha. Fish, might shock most people, his favorite and what he wants to target is hardhead catfish. He will take hardhead over trout, snook, redfish...anyday.

I came by the store this morning and bought a few things. Went to the canal in Gulf Shores, the Beach at Gulf State Park and a couple places in Orange Beach and didn't catch anything but a stingray.....grrr....please take me fishing with you some times.
Hit the canal with blue crabs. You can get them from Billy’s seafood or Aquilas. You’ll catch a black drum

The World's Greatest Tarpon Tournament is held here. 150lb's if not greater. Grand prize 22,000 bucks. I believe buy in is 10 grand. The largest tarpon caught was 286+ lbs. Boca Grande has a lot of history. PBS has a documentary called The Silver King. Very interesting and entertaining, going way back. Just some info you might be interested in. TTYL.

I wonder (with me doing a lot of carp fishing) why you're not using baitrunner reels for bigger fish? A lot easier to set the hook if one decides to take a run.

I vacation in ft. Walton twice a year and fish in front of where we stay. I buy my shrimp from Publix. It’s the never frozen shrimp. Is that ok or should I get fresh dead from emerald coast bait shop?
GO VOLS! Well done sir. I made a trip to the sunshine state last week just north of Jax Beach - me and some TN rednecks. Dirty water for 5 days, nothing but cats and bonnetheads, and 2 days of charter boat fishing cancelled due to weather. :( I guess I need to start fishing the gulf coast if I can find an okay RV park. My wriste remote sucked to. Worked great at home, took it out tried it worked fine, caught a fish turned it on and didnt work. not worked since. Company sent me another one but they told me to not bump it they dont take much to brake them. I told them to just keep the one there sending and ill send back the other one and give me my money back.
