I owned a 2001 XJ8 hit a patch of ice on freeway going 80mph an rolled it on concrete 6 times (witness count) car smashed all around me walked away with a detached retina which healed an scratch on my nose. This car saved my life.
I hit a wet patch in my 97 xj6 , spun out and smashed into a telephone pole then slid 360 the opposite direction into a tree , all i had was a blury eye for a few days from the airbag , these cars are great for protecting the passengers
i owned a 1999 daimler super v8 when a driver cut in my lane on the motorway ..ended up braking in sleet and black ice car hit the barrier at 110mph flipped 3 times with 3 kids and a new kitten inside ..rolled back over on its wheels and drove it back home 30miles away ..this car truly saved me and my family ..&& the kitten ..AMAZING
I just purchased a 2004 Jaguar XJ8. It has only 59k miles on it. It's my first Jag and is a very beautiful, luxurious, and supremely comfortable car. 👌🏽 Thanks for this video. I learned so many features I didn't know it had. 🙏🏾
I own a black 98 xjr. Bought it without doing homework. Had to put a new engine in it after 3 weeks. Also, recently spent 5K welding the vmounts, new break linings, petrol linings, exhaust, petrol pumps, radiator and much more. Put best part of 11k repairs in last 6 yrs not to mention the thirst for 98 octane. But I love it. I love the way she just sits there being sinister, timeless and pretty. I love the way she brings me to any location in style. I love the way she humiliates a lot of modern cars at the lights effortlessly. Cars just aren't made like this anymore. It's understated and the sound of the supercharger will never ever get boring. This is a great video that I've not seen before. Thanks
Douwe - I've had an '02 XJ8 3.6 for ten years. Apart from tyres and two batteries, all that's failed is a single coil. I live in Blighty, by the way. I love mine, too. Hope you have no more trouble with your old girl!
I own 2003 jaguar xj8/ x308 I bought it 13 yrs. ago it has only 71 thousand miles. Everything original except the tires. No rust at all I'm still happy with it no problem at all

I have the XJ6 Exec (2006 MY) which is proving difficult to replace as the last was built in 2009. They are now quite rare, it seems. Has many of the features explained here and is a beautiful car. Keeping it on the road is an expensive luxury but well worth it (about £3K per annum). There is a minor paint issue with the aluminium underneath ‘powdering’ at vulnerable points, corner of the door seams/bumper etc. This will be an expensive resolve but again, well worth it. A fabulous vehicle, silent in operation, cruising on the motorways is quiet and the engine ‘purrs’ while the bumps of the road are smoothed out by the advanced independent suspension. A unique and sought after marque. Beautiful car.
pokejag 04 garage not all but many. I have owned several Jags. These X308 Jags will rise in value as the years move on, thus I like putting my marked on history. Someday I’ll post my videos of my mint showroom 2003 Platinum Silver XJ8 Vanden Plas. Elegance personified. Love these X308 cars and their rich history. The awful upright styling, poor aluminum build quality of the X350 was an abomination. The 2003 (X308) XJ8 was the last of the best.
I was walking across the interstate and a 1998 Jaguar XJ8 hit me at 140 mph. I wasn't harmed but the Jaguar flipped 88 times and then hit a wall. All 28 passengers were safe and apologized for the accident. They drove away from the accident, after that day I found out I had hepatitis c. That's why I drive Jaguar
Just bought a 2001 Jaguar XJ8 VDP :D Not on the road yet- need to change all fluids, knock sensor, and the usual filters. Any tips would be great ! PureJAg has been awesome as well, check him out! Nicest guy! Love this video! Thanks for sharing!
Funnily enough the gearboxes were German and the same ones found in the Mercedes. I really wanted an XJ 308 but my head told me to get a BMW E39 525. I loved the e39 but it certainly was not reliable. Alternator went twice, thermostat was faulty which caused the engine to overheat, I had to get a replacement head, then the master cylinder went. I still think the e39 is a better car, and I really loved it, but I think the XJ just has that X factor that other cars don't quite have.
The video clip that present jaguar car as poor man rolls Royce is a big blow or knock out on the products. It sells negative and wrong image against the long time prestigious record of Jaguar cars. Thanks

Monarchs of luxury. The last of the great Jag breed. Beautiful lines. Beautiful coach. After 2003 Jaguar died.
No I believe it died in 2007.
+EXPECTEDTUNA (ExpectedTuna786) No. 2003 was the last model year for all steel Jag.
John Ward wasn't the s type steel also 2008 was the death of jaguar 2003 was just a terminal illness
pokejag 04 garage s type was an abortion of a car.
Ford took over in late 1990's and saved the day. When Ford left.. it died.

Douwe van Moerkom I'm glad you love your jag as much as we all love ours , happy wrenching
I've found that having good spark plugs & esp coil packs really changes the car's performance. I've done the Vee mount area too. What a nightmare

If the gear selecter lever gets jammed in park, Remove the star plug in the J-Gate and push the key down inside to release lever, used happen a lot.
