if you like this kinda interactive play, you should check out Sleep No More in NYC, its actually amazing. I feel as if they could adapt this star cruisers SW experience and do something similar, boil it down to a 3-4hr interactive play instead of an expensive hotel.
A really underrated/crucially important part of Sleep No More is that throughout the 3-4 hour duration, the play loops a couple of times. Allowing you more than enough chances to see or take part in scenes that might have been happening on different floors. Definitely would have been a better fit for the half LARP thing that Galaxy's Edge/Starcruiser seems to be chasing.

japan will always be there. this star wars experience isnt. so to choose between the 2, i would choose star wars just to experience it. i can always go to japan some other time

I'm still hoping for a Resident Evil themed version of this, with puzzle rooms, zombie actors you can fake shoot, and there's a wide array of characters they can use, too.
Closest thing I can think of is some of the themed escape rooms in Japan like they did with Metal Gear (and I can imagine RE at some point). Or Halloween Horror Nights.
Closest thing I've experienced was that Walking Dead zombie escape thing they used to do at comic con. The first year I did it two times in one day and my body regretted it for probably a week.
The HHN in Japan lets you do all of those things (with a Claire and Leon route)

I'm not joking when I say this was an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. I was so fortunate to make it on before the end and i'll carry those memories forever. Even this video can't really explain what it was like to be in the thick of it. It's the raddest shit of all time.

It was a horrible disaster. One of Disney's biggest horror shows of all time. It's not just the horrendous cost. It's just a horrible windowless bunker. A fail on every level. What a piece of shit. Good riddance.

Glad to experience all this stuff vicariously through these videos. Its really nice to have some genuine appreciation for the planning and design. I had been pretty negative on the hubris on display with this thing but at least there was some idea to make it a holistic experience throughout the whole park.
Too bad the PS Portal isn't out yet, Doc could have brought it and have the title as the only person to get a Platinum trophy in space.

I was looking forward to this because Rocco and Kevin have a lot of similar passions as me when it comes to park experiences.
And this video is the FIRST time that I saw something that made me really want to try this hotel out, because you guys talked about the stuff that I actually found interesting. The theater experience, how much better the experiences are in person, more information than most Star Wars fans would just say "lightsabers" or something.
Too bad the best advertisement came out a week before closing. Disney should have given you a free stay a year ago lol

It kinda killed me at the part about the medallion for captains dinner. "trip so far really themed, excellent engagement, really wraps you in, ..., disney brand on the in universe type gift like come on man just let it go for once, ain't gotta put the brand name on the front of everything. This shit looked absolutely awesome though wish I'd taken the chance to go at the time. Just hope this isn't a one and done experiment forever and we may see more exploration in to this odd dinner theater hotel project again in the future. (for star wars or otherwise).

Just went to DL for the first time in 25 years, 2-3 days is perfect, go early, leave in the afternoon to get a nap, go back and stay until it closes. You miss the busiest part of the day, Genie plus is worth it.
Honestly, it was good to watch this, then later watch Jenny's video on it, good to see all the different views from guests.

Did it feel like the experience was changed at all by the closure?
It honestly felt like everyone there was super passionate about giving their all in the final days. The only thing I felt like was modified by it being in the final days were: 1. a lot of merch was sold out and 2. one alien punk rocker dude was wearing a bandana instead of alien tentacles or whatever, I think maybe something happened to that apparatus and they didn't fix it, idk

I'm glad you guys got so much out of this! It does seem like you have to put as much time into the experience as you want out of it. Is there any down time at all between set piece scenes and developing plot lines?
I feel like any one introverted, shy, or antisocial would come away from the weekend like they just spent $5K to stand around awkwardly as more outgoing people LARPed around them. Even just the act of sleeping in your hotel room feels like a money sink.
I have agree that making this an overnight experience might have been the first and fatal flaw of the whole endeavor. A proper dinner theater would be a good repurposing of the space but I also think they could incorporate some of cargo room plotlines and such through an escape room attraction. Perhaps something that’s either optional and/or standalone from the dinner and show attraction.

Stoked you guys got to go before it closed! It’s such a weird little club where you literally can’t explain it to people who haven’t gone. Wish it was open for longer with cheaper options so more people had a chance to go. I had no clue what I was getting myself into and then ended up going back with strangers to split the cost since I loved it so damn much. Hope it comes back in a different form. All the people that work there are so fuckin awesome.

Was in a small town to see the Matrix/Dreamcatcher combo. They delayed starting the movie for an hour. Suddenly it starts and they still play the commercials and other trailers, we were pissed. Watched the Matrix thing, went up to the front and got our money back, went to a Chinese buffet. Still never seen Dreamcatcher.

My biggest regret about the Galactic Star Cruiser is that it is closed :( and was not buying more at the shop. I went October 2022 and I had to pay for the Shield 😂. I tried to return by calling daily looking for a cancellation, I would 1000% go again. I am so happy i filmed a lot of my Voyage to relive it from my videos and others here and other platforms.

I have really never been a fan of Star Wars, but I had to look up the clip of the real lightsaber. Seeing it in action and hearing the crowd genuinely freak out was so cool. I’ve never cared about Star Wars, but being at galaxy’s edge really is an amazing experience because they put so much effort into making that world feel real, and whether you like Star Wars or not, it’s so impressive you can’t help but get into it because it feels so real.
i'll be real, "The Well Known Fact" would make for a pretty good fiction title
