The one with the machine in the center is interesting. It almost evokes the aesthetic we already got in FS just with pieces of the world which appears to have broken held in place by some machine.
How are they a new race tho? Aren’t they just the same races we’ve been fighting but mutated. They seem more like a faction rather than a whole new race
@@SomeOne-hu8huNo they aren’t, there’s lore of the Witness making the Dread from scratch. The only Dread enemies that are connected to another race are the Psions.
Seeing all of this, we take for granted the finish product. There are many concept possibilities that get made into the playable environments. Then every character has to be modeled, reworked, and detailed. It's why hundreds of people make Destiny.
I know it is literally CONCEPT art, but I always get a little sad we didnt get the crazy and different visuals shown in a lot of the artworks, especially with environments in game.
Why don't the wizards have legs? Luzaku doesn't have any and the wizard boss in onslaught don't either. I wonder if they lose them when they take the mother/wizard morph.

It always seems to me like Bungie keeps trying to re-use designs and mannerisms from games like Marathon and Pathways into darkness. Especially with the Taken, and some of the units that make up the Dread. I know they did a bit of it in their Halo games, and I think at one point they wanted to connect the story between Halo and Pathways, but they gave up when they turned Halo over to 343. I kind of hope that they tie that history to Destiny, but I also don't. Seeing references to Pathways and Marathon in Destiny lore would be cool, but I don't see how it would be beneficial to Destiny without ruining what they have built so far.
the concepts are 200 x tha the asset flip we got , we got thr pale heart which basically was just no new structures but old assets copy n pasted and enlarged to ake them feel random
Bring back actual darkness, I’m talking oryx, ghaul, the fanatic, actual scary evil villains, don’t get me wrong the dread, rhulks species and nezerac’s species are sick af, but none of em give me that dark feeling
Brother in Christ The books of sorrow let us see Oryx in a calmer, much more direct light. What we got in game with him was legitimately garbage. Every other villain you mentioned after him is literally a Disney villain lmfao. Savathün had a much thicker presence than Oryx ever did and randomly without warning getting Rhulk dropped on us in Witch Queen as a way of the world saying "welcome to the end" as well as his lore. Dude goes so hard it's not even funny.

Ich selbst war nach D1 und zu Beginn von D2 dermaßen enttäuscht das die ganze Geschichte rund um dieses mysteriöse Universum so banal weitergeht. Ich habe die großen Erweiterungen alle gespielt und hatte im Hinterkopf immer eine leise Stimme, die sagte was das steck hinter dieser Geschichte!?! Ich weiß noch wie ich nach der Einführung des Zeugen dachte, was der ist jetzt das ultimativ Böse? Irgendwie fühlte sich das nach einem König der Besessenen irgendwie wie ein Platzhalter an, als hätten Sie den Zeugen aufgrund von Zeitmangel in die Story hineingeschrieben.
Really hate what they did with the pyramid ships and the statues. Those ships should have been filled with the nastiest deadliest enemies weve ever seen. And the statues should have been a nod to the winnower, like darkness beings spreading the word of they're god around everywhere they touch. Not the witness going "o im leaving little piece of my soul behind cause they wont listen to me" wouldve also loved to see light being in the very early concepts of d1 be at the center of the traveler, that way the traveler is more than just a ball n theres something more then just reused land inside it.

And what did we get ? A half assed pyramid story and tagged on race.. This is so fucking sad, bungie could have really be innovative, but noo we got the witness who was only interesting in witch queen and final shape. So sad..

The Dread and Witness are cool and dripped the fuck out, but I like how they were going into a more eldritch take on the Darkness and Black Fleet.

Randall The Vandall the scariest and darkest villain in all of Destiny. Was almost certain he'd be the ancient enemy and not the Witness lol

I'm not knocking Bungie. But I have never seen concept art for this game that was worse than what we got.
