I absolutely adore making my coffee and sitting with you in the morning and just listening. It's like being with a dear friend who also enjoys creating and living art! I notice we both have a penchant for adding texture or distressing things.. I adore a patina. Anyhow, kind and genuine Gaynor, Thank You for contributing; sharing so generously with us! ❤ your friend across the pond, Sam p.s. your father is no doubt quite proud!

Definitely Stephanie. I look forward to Thursdays so much. It’s the highlight of my week when I get to be sitting alone with time to absorb all the lovely ideas Gaynor gives us.
Gaynor -once I discovered this channel- immediately became my absolute favorite and I feel I get So Much out of sharing in this artistic journey Truly you hit just the perfect balance and tone and it's a joy every week. I rewatch all many times and in background often while I'm painting etc. The best!!!
Oh dear, I know that sentimental feeling-I’m sure we all do. So many times I wonder what my mother would say if she saw my work…I didn’t start my painting until after she passed and always regret I started so late in life. Love all that you are doing. The sunflower just beams warmth, and your cyclamen will be fab when you get into it more. Thanks for giving us this slice of your art and creativity. I always feel so much better about my flops and failed attempts after listening to you spur us on to keep at it!
Who'd have thought of playing around with a pear...Gaynor of course! You've got me drawing what's in front of me.... some vases with interesting handles and then my lovely angel wing begonia. Now I need to play with them more... how exciting!
You have a sweet, and tender heart. I've lost my parents as well, but the love they have for us remains, ever-present. My Mom once said, "I'm fortunate that tears are never very far from my eyes"; said with a smile, but any sweet memory can evoke them, always at the ready. Your paintings are amazing, (I would keep the Sandy Beach one.) Your new Ikea desk is great. And those cards, are stunning, and what fun! Have a great week, and a wonderful exposition upcoming! 💖
I had to laugh at your bout of frustration with the Cyclamen - the splodge of white and then the red scribbles- I saw myself - but as per usual, you pulled it back and the red scribbles really work! ❤ And good to see you triumphed over the printer - the cards look great! 😊 Before you eat that pear, maybe you could cut it in half and sketch another facet to go with the whole pear 🤔
Oh how I love Thursday mornings - I can sit with my coffee and oatmeal and watch your videos. You are my fav! I always get inspired by what you're doing, and your fabulous art. I have wanted to comment on the sink painting. Oh my goodness-adjectives fail me. It is wonderful. Thank you, thank you-for just being You, and for giving us such joy.
I so look forward to Thursdays to watch your video. I have been very sad and grieving for months over the loss of my sweet dogs, 17 and 13, and I had lost the desire to paint. I stumbled on your videos, and woah, I feel as if I have known you for a long time.😊 Your enthusiasm has rubbed off on me and my desire to paint is back again. I have just completed at least 12 different watercolor Christmas cards, plus some big acrylic canvasses, and I'm back. Thank you from across the pond, for sharing your work with all of us. Your videos were the medicine my heart needed.♥
I am so sorry to read of your loss, and it's good to know that you've reconnected with your art. Thank you so much for watching and taking time to comment XX
Hi Gaynor, Love the bird card! ❤ So fun and joyful 😊 Also love how you take a simple object like a pear and make it fun to work and experiment on. ❤️ I lost my father a couple of years ago , seeing you upset, set me off 😢 mind you it doesn’t take much to set me off. Some feelings are so deep. He must have been lovely because you turned out Amazing!! ❤️ I can’t believe how much Art you make! You studio is covered in Amazing works! Keep warm and do cosy nurturing things. I have the cosiest, fluffy bed time socks…makes me smile whenever I put them on 😄 maybe I should paint them! 😃 xx❤️❤️❤️
Hello Teresa, After a chilly session today, I came in and made soup ! I love the sound of your cosy, fluffy socks....I've taken to sleeping with extra blankets ! I agree with you, feelings do run deep and memories rush at you, sometimes unexpectedly. Making art is incredibly cathartic. Heartfelt thanks for your kindness, have a wonderful week XXX
Always your videos are so inspiring. Great ideas on how to do cards from just a simple sketch & printing it out & then playing. Your seascape paintings are just beautiful. I hope you keep the one that reminds you of your Dad.
I lost my dad last November and I find myself having a good cry often...a memory or somthing I come across that he would have liked or that was his...even a smell...just random things really that bring the loss of him flooding back. Sweet memories and gentle tears for those weve lost.❤
Hello Gaynor. Another inspiring video. I understand fully your emotions thinking of your Dad. I share your feelings of loss and sadness, as I too lost mine nearly 6 years ago aged 96. I am sure he would be very proud of you. You’ve produced lovely unusual cards yet again. I can’t wait to see what you do with the boats as inspiration. Have a lovely week. 💐
Hello Fiona, I am constantly surprised how memories can rush in, unexpectedly and 'get' you ! I find art really cathartic. I am enjoying boat experimentation. Have a lovely week too XX
I love boats!! But, I can NOT do anything with them! I'm really looking forward to seeing what you with yours do next week and I will start a "boat board" this week! Thanks Gaynor! Another wonderful video!
Thank you Gaynor, you are truly a breath of fresh air. Thanks for the inspiration. Not art related but would love to know more about your neverending collection of scarves. Just love them!
Hurray for Thursdays! I want one of those Ikea tables, so functional. You were so brave with your Cyclamen painting Gaynor, I know it will be fabulous. I hope you don't mind me saying so but I am sure your Dad loves your Sandy Shore painting (and all your work) too and is very proud of you. I just love your cards, they are so different and full of energy. The festive garland elements really add something too. Sending you love and hugs ❤
Hello Charlotte, I am pleased to bits with the table...I'm hoping to use it in an exhibition space next year as well. Heartfelt thanks for your kind, kind words.... XXX
I so appreciate your vulnerability with us! Your work and process make me happy every single video. I've kind of given up going to my art table because everything was turning out so incredibly ugly. I know I should keep going but I haven't found the courage. Thank you for inspiration!
Thank you for yet another video full of inspiration! I’m quickly running out of all your previous videos! 🤦♀️I’m on my way to Bexhill tomorrow. I never give myself enough time on the seafront but, like you, also have a penchant for boats, so, weather permitting, I feel an early morning walk coming on! Beautiful painting in memory of your Dad. ❤ No doubt it was quick to sell.
You inspire me so much! I get so bogged down sometimes I don't move on anything! Sunshine motivates me! Its been dreary and rainy and cold here- my excuse I guess! LOL Thank you GP!
Not an excuse Becky....a FACT ! So many times I don't want to go to the cold cabin in the rain....all I know is that if I get myself in there, painting makes me feel better XXX
Lovely lovely video. Love the "celebratory pears" 😍🥰 And I love ALL the cyclamen abstract paintings in ALL their many stages. Super cool. I do think you should go to Essaouira for the boats❣❣
Hi Gaynor you always make my day with yr cheery disposition and of course i adore your ideas and paintings. I never realised Hastings is so nice.I must visit one day. Keep warm Gaynor. ❤❤❤👍👍👍💯💢💥
All your videos are so inspiring thank you they have helped me start creating again!! When you got emotional with the painting, so did I… I’m sure your dad would’ve loved it. So nice of your husband to make the frames. They’re beautiful.
So pleased you did the cards, they are so different and unique ! I liked the bird one too ! I've been doing watercolour cards this week but on a more traditional theme, baubles , trees and wreaths......wish I could think a bit more outside the box and be more loose !, have a great week and hope the exhibition goes well ! 😊
Thank you X You can be loose...play with paint in your sketchbook, maybe take one subject and experiment. You don't have to go all out crazy....just tweak what you do a bit, then a bit more, then a bit more than that !!!! Have a wonderful week XX

This new work is looking so fresh & lovely, including the Cyclamen which I really love! Don't be too hard on it....or yourself as you deal with the pressure of preparing for another show. And thank goodness for Craig, right?

@@gaynorpattle Thanks Gaynor! It seems that everybody is looking for a reliable printer at the moment! If I am lucky enough to get one at Christmas I'll let you know if it is any good! x😄
Hi Gaynor. Even when someone so dear passes, your relationship with them continues to live on. Just a question please, when you mentioned that you printed the pears on cards, not sure how you did this eg was it from some sort of printer or how did you reproduce the pear drawings please? I don't think I my printer can work on cards, would find them too thick.
Hello Michelle, thank you for a lovely thought. PLEASE check that your printer can take card. I photograph and then do battle with my printer - I will find a replacement soon ! It takes a while to place the image to print where you want it on the card but if all goes well it's worth the effort. Have a wonderful week XX
