Flying Eyes didn't pay for your ticket? Boys, we need to buy a lot more pairs of sunglasses 😎
Hey Lew Dix, i actually fly and am doing my PPL training through rising aviation. Sadly im not in their program, Brent has to be the best trainer ive had throughout my training. Great to see them getting recognition.
I’m a student at UND currently, LOVE flying the pipers!
You and aviation 101 are my favourite US based general aviation content makers You are my n1 favourite northerner who lives in the US and still speaks like he's up north somwhere moaning with his dad who is paying 2quid per litre to keep his transit running. Keep up the great work!
One of the coolest things about you.... you flipping respond to people. You're obviously quasi famous, but you engage your fans/followers. I almost love reading the comments and seeing your replies as much as I love watching the videos. That's bloody brilliant man. Wish I were in the Orlando area so i could train with you. Wish all CFIs were like you. (How many wishes do I get?) Keep up the good work!
Ah thank you so much man! The way I see it, anyone that doesn’t respond to the people that support them needs to take a look in the mirror and give themselves a shake. I make videos for your entertainment. Without you watching this wouldn’t be my job so it’s the minimum I can do; interact with you wonderful people. Some get lost in the “fame”. I just get lost trying to navigate 😉
That was great. Sorry I missed you. Next year I am going to be there the whole week. I'd love to meet if you are there. Piper for the win. Fly safe!
We’ll make the meeting happen one day! Thanks man!
@Cynthia JendlebeeSort of. I sold the Grumman and bought a Comanche. My father owns a Cirrus which he is kind enough to let me fly.
I go to school at UND and fly the piper archer. So cool to see it showcased in ur vid. Low wing forever lol 🫡
I went in 2019. It was such a cool experience! I got to meet the crew from Airline Pilot Guy and some of the other content creators I follow.
Ugh.. we have to wait another year for Oshkosh!
23:27 made it in the vlog. I suppose this is the high point of my life (sorry wife and kids). It was awesome chatting and joking around for a few minutes. Best of luck with all the things to come! Cheers
😂 thanks for stopping by to have a chat man!
I had 10 hours in the 172. I switched over to a Piper Warrior and haven’t looked back. I was referred to the other day at the hanger as “ the Piper Girl” 🙋🏼♀️
LOL
IT HAS A NICE RING TO IT😆✈️🤭
I love the Piper I fly!!!!
Haha that’s brilliant!
This is awesome! Im the son of Marshall and I’m starting flight school soon at ATP, your videos are so cool man keep it up!
That’s great! Thanks so much and good luck at ATP!
Excellent video, Lewis! Looks like you had a fun time and I know everyone was excited to meet/see you.
Thanks! It was great fun!
Awesome vlog! Air Venture was so fun this year. Glad I got to meet up with you and chat for a few minutes. Remember I correctly got out of Josh's line and over to you when I saw you walk up for that day one meet and greet! Haha!! Keep up the good work and hope to chat again at some point.
Nice video . Great Content.
Lew! Meetin' n' greetin'... OSH style!
Hope you're doin' well, brother!
Got me with the total SideEye 🤣. Had fun hanging out! Look forward to the next time and maybe a colab one day. 😎
Good morning Lew Dix! I know this isn't a flight video, but I had to let you know you made PPL training enjoyable! I was going to slowdown/quit during the early stages because I wasn't enjoying myself! Found your You Tube channel and saw the fun you guys were having, so I changed CFI's! I want to report to you that I passed my PPL Checkride on Tuesday! Also I used LewDix discount code for for some non-prescription sun glasses (Sport) and a pair of prescription sun glasses with the magnetic shades (Osprey)! Thanks for showing that you should and can learn in a nonaggressive and tensed cockpit! Thank you! 😎
That’s amazing! A huge congratulations on passing your checkride and I’m honoured that I was part of your journey in some small way! That’s so cool!
Lol you spotted me at my boys at 2:44 walking from the Captain Joe meet and greet! I should've say hi lol. I'll catch you next year!
Really enjoyed this production.
You’ll love the next one even more 😉

High wing...low wing.....
I got my PPL in May and flew to my 1st Oshkosh in a Piper Arrow! We were the 2nd to last plane to arrive before the massive Saturday storm. Didn't even have time to tie down before the storm hit, so we had to wait it out in the plane before pitching the tents. I'll never forget that approach lol
Was really looking forward to meeting you in person Lew, but I got to the Flying Eyes booth a couple days before you arrived. Next year.
Did you have a "brain.exe not responding" moment when coming into Oshkosh?
ROFL on the Cessna-Piper high wing low wing facts 😂😂😂. You and Bryan Turner, (Just Plane Silly), need to hook up Lewis. Can’t imagine the humor pouring out of that video.
Would we even make it off the ground? We might get stuck in the FBO giggling 😂
@@LewDixAviation OMG! It would be hilarious! I know you two will put it together. Comanche meets Cessna?
Brian.. how old r u ? me same you.. over 60 wanna try finish ppl get certs try get part 91,135 job.. ? think i can do it ?
But how old r u now ? .. new sub yur channel.. good luck
@@phillp7777 I am over 60 and working to do 135 by retirement in a few years or less. Yes, you can do it! There are guys in their 70's still doing 135 ops.
hey, Lewis. I had to stop at 10:00 and say. I just brought "glen" Faa private pilot written test prep book. haven't read it yet. but, I know it's going to work. thank you for the conformation. I also brought "ASA" prep book as well. and really like it. it's was very inexpensive on Amazon. reading it is better than learning it digital on the computer.
The ASA oral prep is amazing. That’s like a bible for a checkride so become really familiar with it. That and the ACS. Gleim is a great choice.
@@LewDixAviation thanks bro for the heads up. And information.
I’m glad we’re on the same page about Pipers!
I wish I went to an aviation high school . WTF. that is so awesome.
So cool!
oooooh, nice vlog as always and thanks for the insight from oshkosh. BUT you forgot something..... 0:58 "welcome to the sky" 😥😅
There’s a graphic!! Thanks 😉
@@LewDixAviation yes i know, but it´s not the same 😘
nice pilgrimage!
5:10 oh my god.
🙌🏻
Man i love your lifestyle🤟🤟🤟👌👌✌
Min. 14 was by far the highlight! haha
Where’s my low wing posse?
Awesome video. Would have loved to check out Oshkosh in person.
If you ever get the chance, take it and run!
Any airline itch for you, Lew? You seem to really love instructing.
Stay tuned…
@@LewDixAviation Wilco!
14:00 yeah you’re not getting a GA plane sponsorship from Cessna that you asked for earlier in the video 😂
100% not 😂
Awesome vlog. By the way I got my PPL 2 months ago with a C172S and can now either continue flying the C172S or switch to a piper archer. Maybe I should stick to the aircraft I trained in for now or do you think I should quickly transition to the archer and I should be alright to carry passengers after a lesson or two?
I always say it’s a good idea after you get PPL to branch out and learn to fly another aircraft. It won’t take long to get comfortable in the PA28, which is a much better aircraft.
@@LewDixAviation Yeah I took one lesson already in the archer and it was very nice and I’d probably only need one more but I’m just worried that since I have so few hours that it might not be the smartest idea to go flying passengers after 2 lessons in a new plane 😬
@@elik1491 You’re still thinking like a student. You earned the right to take passengers! If you’re comfortable, current and proficient, that’s all that matters. Go out and enjoy it!
@@LewDixAviation Haha thanks man I’ll be flying the skyboat for a little while then but my school does have an archer so maybe soon…
Piper needs to sponsor you.
I’m all for it
Cool video, but the heat must have gotten to you, you mixed up the high wing low wing facts 😂.
No way!
Love the videos! What editing software do you use?
Thanks! Final Cut Pro
No "Welcome to the Sky" on rotation?
There was a graphic!
@@LewDixAviation Yeah, I saw that, but I felt kind of, you know, cheated out of hearing it! Awesome video none the less!!!
@@melcharles613 what you didn’t see was me jumping up and grabbing the PA mic and saying it to all the passengers. That didn’t make the cut, along with the arrest.
@@LewDixAviation 🤣 I certainly missed that! I honestly think you could have gotten the F/O to do it!!
This was a good video, but you neglected to show us the best part of the whole show (which your editing leads us to believe you yourself skipped): you need to fly the Fisk arrival. Either fly all the way from Orlando yourself, or try to rent a plane in WI somewhere, but getting to the show by air is so much more fun than driving
I want to take my faa written private pilot test before I start flying lessons to obtain private.
@LewDix Aviation Never heard of Captain Joe before, does that mean I am hanging out in the wrong Aviation channels?
If you’re hanging around here, you’re doing it right!
When it comes to the high wing low wing debate, I prefer a high wing, I can see the sky from the ground, its the ground I want to see from the sky.
Can you see the traffic/airport/birds/any other obstacle/danger in a turn though?
@@LewDixAviation Typical turn lasts about 5 seconds, but I love anything with wings.
@@bobbuchanan2626 You and me both man!
