It does really suck that this team was only together for two seasons (1994-95 & 1995-96) - we'll never know how really great they could have been - it was an unfortunate turn of events - karma came back to bite Orlando; too much success too soon (i.e. two #1 lottery picks back to back in 1992 & 1993, signing Horace Grant as a free agent in 1994, beating MJ & the Bulls in the playoffs & making it to the Finals in 1995); they were a young & talented team that overachieved & the success went to their heads.......and after getting spanked by the Bulls in the 1996 playoffs, it was all downhill afterwards (Shaq leaving for LA, Brian Hill getting fired, Penny getting injured & eventually leaving as well).....
Penny was next level could dominate games in a variety of ways defense, steals, rebounds, blocks, assists whatever a team needed him to do he could do it he was one bad dude and Shaq was an absolute monster in the paint most dominant in NBA history if he could of made free throws he probably would if average 40-50 points a game and Horace Grant was so underrated he was a midrange assassin in unstoppable on the block too they had a squad.
Hard to question Shaq's desire and competitive fire after watching this. If you didn't know what game this was and you were trying to guess based on Shaq and the rest of the Magic's demeanor, you would think this is a game 7.
i still don't understand how penny could back down what appeared to be bigger (heavier) guards/players with relative ease (steve smith in this game). i still find it mind boggling considering he was pretty slim.

All the NBA players say Penny was much stronger than he looked I guess sumthin like Mj 🤷🏾♂️
This Penny is better than Kobe.
no doubt! Penny court vision and passes were another level!
T-mac before T-mac
T mac was a scoring machine. But he was absolutely not a great passer with creativity like Penny
