- Nature has taken over an empty city. In this scene most of the people have long gone and there are not many people left. In this scene it's just a few of you left and you have music to keep you company. Of course this is a Last Of Us inspired scene, I've been a fan of the games for many years and seeing how good the TV show is, I wanted to make my own inspired empty city scene. So here is my own versions of a future city without any humans, nature has taken over. But you have a gentle breeze and beautiful birdsong playing in front of you. Can you spot the deer that appear every once in a while?

Absolutely perfect, both sounds and visuals. The soundscape reminds me so much of lazy summer days spent in my grandma's backyard.
I'm also obsessed with the 'life after people' aesthetic and concept, and how fast most if not all traces of our existence would disappear. It's somehow both terrifying and comforting how ephemeral we are.
ETA: I spotted the deer!
I wondered how many people would spot the deers. There’s a few of them
How aptly named "The Last of Us." How ironic to listen to the melodious chirps and trills of the birds; to "feel" the breeze that's generating the hypnotic swaying of the lush greenery; and to watch the lazy, unhurried flight of birds and butterflies (and crows perched on the pole) after what must have been a devastating catastrophy...your attention to detail is epic!
Love this and love this channel. I come here to relax, when I am studying and just to provide some soft "noise". Thank you for all that you do.

This is one of the best you have made. I really needed one that is not to noisy, because I think that's whe whole idea of these renders. To look as real as possible, and to be as listenable as possible. So I love the fact that the sound is not too disturbing, chill ambiences help me work. Great job!

I'm new to your channel, Aaron, in the middle of 2024, and I'm mesmerized by the alternate shift between soft and edgey in your works! This is chilling in that it shows how nature will recover what is hers and resume dominance over what man attempts to establish. Wow: just saw the stag strolling by. Post apocalyptic, huh? If the shrubbery reclaiming the buildings hadn't clued me in, the overgrown children's slide and the car are the pièce de résistance! Awesome! I actually feel like I'm watching real life from that window...with the torn sheer curtain.
Reminds me of George Carlin's response to environmentalists' cries decades ago, that the earth won't survive the damage we inflict upon it. George said something to the effect that the EARTH will survive...however, the HUMAN RACE might not.

Flawless! There's something so appealling about civilisation overgrown and reclaimed - as though nature is reminding us that we are only a few decades away from being erased. The overgrown car amd playslide are particularly poignant. So clever you use the ambient sound and bright lighting to make this non threatening.
re you using some kind of scattering formula for the undergrowth placement?
Of your many superb pieces, I think this is your best - both technically and emotionally. Fantastic work!
Hey Mat, cheers! 👍 Yeah when looking for ref for this it was easy to start to fall into a trap making it look very nasty and depressing, which wasn’t what I wanted. In fact I found it a bit of a challenge making a TLOU ambience, on one hand I wanted it to be authentic to what I loved about the game, but on the other hand, it quickly felt uneasy and not relaxing at all. As you noted, I deliberately choose a sunny day with nature taking over. I tried to use nature to ‘beautify’ the scene rather than make it dark 👍🙂 I’m glad that didn’t go unnoticed, thanks again🙂
And yes the foliage was made using Unreal’s foliage tools 👍 It needed a bit of art direction to get it right, you can’t just slap it on there, not really if you want it to look right 🙂 But it’s great tool.
@@AmbientRenders You captured the atmosphere perfectly. I've been to a few places that nature has reclaimed; abandoned hillside cottages, old warehouses; disused railway tracks deep in the country; and more. There's a sense of beautiful tranquility tinged with mystery and slight sadnes about them. The impermennce of our lives. I'm lucky enough to live closeish to Roman ruins and 800/900 year old hilltop churches, and I love the sense of long dead echoes of lives lived. It's a way of bridging the time gap. I don't know why, but nature helps to unify such places - to give them a sense of continuity. That said, I was recently lucky enough to discover a bunch of photos of where I live, but 100 years ago. It's very wooded now, but paradoxically was quite open in the past, which is opposite to my expectation.
Anyway, I think you did a terrific job of capturing the peace of a world devoid of the hum and buzz of human occuptation. Have you played Dying Light 2? That create a very good abandoned world too, especially in the opening hour or so.
@@AmbientRenders It looks perfectly convincing. You must have spent a long time on this one. I've downloaded the entire video to enjoy even when the internet is down. I'll trim it to the loop poin as the video is 8GB in size. How far in does the sound loop?
Another great game for the post apocalyptic ambience - Metro Exodus - Sam's Story (DLC). When he arrives on the east coast, the walk into the overgrown city and shipyard is very well done, though far more threatening than your vision.
I have nothing but admiration for your mastery of your tools.
