- A high-speed police chase takes a dangerous turn in Los Angeles County.
The chase eventually ended in the North Antelope Valley where the suspect ditched the car. The suspect then crossed all lanes of the 5 Freeway on foot, narrowly dodging traffic. After crossing the road, the suspect tried to carjack the passing vehicle but failed.
After a short foot chase, officers were able to stop and then place the suspect in custody.

Commentators totally missed the spike strip being deployed.
Was talking too much and totally missed the spike strips. Even the cruiser behind tride to avoid them. Tried to gaslight us by saying he was on the phone, so the CHP officer was on the phone too because his vehicle zig zagged a bit.

At 16:36 you can see a CHP officer running across the freeway with a spike strip set in the #2 lane. At 17:02, less than 30 seconds later, the woman says this is not a situation they would set up a spike strip.
They don't even pay attention to what is going on and just want to listen to themselves ramble.

There is NO reason why cops should ever utilize the PIT Maneuver since there now is the GRAPPLER. Arizona utilizes it with remarkable results and much less danger to other cars as well as the police vehicle. Watch it demonstrated on RUclips, it's incredible.

@LiveNOW - get your (old) helicopter narrator/ news reporter a freshen up will you, he's followed so many of these, he's beginning to lose the plot, tending to just wiggle his jaw about nothing at all, and NOT reporting correctly, such things as SOMETHING EVERYONE ELSE SAW - a "spike strip" but your reporter just said, OH MY he lost control, I wonder why?
Maybe look next time & see why?
That way he could have said - "see that spike strip - out there in the fast lane, that the driver had to make such a FAST swerve to avoid (driver never lost control once, nor fishtailed either - just drove), but NO your sleep deprived reporter, just chin wagged and later (when gaslighting the female reporter with his "I know better" lip-flapping, jaw-waggling - verbal-jabberings) - he completely missed the exit - and AFTER it was only caught a few moments later, by the female reporter - that's when "Mr. I KNOW BEST" claimed yes they've left the interstate.

Fox has the best coverage of these chases. I watched the same one on ABC and it was lame. I stopped watching halfway through.

Assuming that this is not a stolen car situation, can anybody tell us what happens to you if you wreck your car, cause damage to other vehicles, or cause injuries to other people, does your insurance company pay for your illegal activities and the aftermath thereof? And do they keep you after they pay (if they pay)? How does that work?

If these pursuits keep ending in tragedy maybe they should stop chasing ppl at high speeds. If they're going 2 or 3x the speed limit cut the chase off it's not worth it.... Follow em home with the chopper and meet em there

It would be depressing to spend 3.5 hours of your day following helicopter footage of a traffic chase, and then to go home at the end of the day and realize that you spent 4 years getting a media degree in college and another 4-8 years working in Peoria, Modesto, or some "anus of America" market.
