I dig this truck a lot. It’s nice to see not everybody’s gotta have big horse power, shortbed, slammed, trailer queens . It’s really refreshing to see just a solid truck that’s mostly stock, and still being driven like it was intended to be. Good video man, keep up the good work. 👍
Nice truck, cool story behind it as well. Always good to see someone appreciating the old girls and doing what’s got to be done to get them up + going as a daily driver , on a budget no less! Well done.
Love that truck. Met Christian and his dad at the mountain ride in Canton. Parked my 64 next to his at John's place. He's a really good mechanic and hope he keeps it up.
I’m about to be a Junior in high school I have a 1981 2wd Sierra classic 1500 shortbed, My dad have a 1982 Silverado c10 long bed. My Truck is a project truck me and my dad Have been working on it together
Nothing wrong with some duct tape, had a friend growing up that had a gremlin that the body was more duct tape and bondo than factory. Still got us all over Florida.
Love the truck, I own a 1960 Chevy pickup. However, I really hope he doesn't drop the truck. I hate it when you guys slam these truck's to the ground. I wish you guy's would just enjoy the truck for what it is, an awesome piece of our transportation past. Anyway, great video !!
Love it ! Man that dude is just so happy !! All he needs now is AC ! Everything about the truck is badass id leave it just like that ... maybe replace the windshield gasket and repair that rust ....
Needs a paint job, but at least it doesn't have wagon wheels...good old school look to it...now that's how a truck is supposed to look! LONG BEDS RULE!!!
I would paint the valve covers and the intake Chevrolet engine orange to match the rest of the engine. Big fan of the 283. One of Chevy's better engines in my opinion. 3000 rpm at highway speed on a 283 is nothing only downfall is it sucks the gas. Also nice looking truck. I dig pitina
I painted all the parts that I took off the engine back when I put it in the truck over a year ago. I didn't paint the block and heads because I was trying to get the truck ready for power tour. One day I'll go back and paint the block and heads the same color as everything else. Detroit diesel green is the closest match in a rattle can to the factory color for a 292 inline 6 and the 66 327 engines in the trucks. 60-66 c10s did not have orange engines from the factory
Christian Carpenter Oh yea.., I bet that’s nice to have bud.. My 67 was the exact 283 3 on the column 3:73 gears.., but no overdrive.. I couldn’t kill em, and I most certainly tried to.., I got it back in ‘93 or ‘94, it was my first truck.. I drove it everywhere like you do yours.. Drove it wide open everywhere I went.. Left out from here in Ga.., and drove it to NC about 85 and 90 all the way and sometimes buried the speedo.. Talking about sounding like a jet going up the highway lol..!! I wish I’d never got rid of it.., the last time I saw it was about 5 years ago 75 south close to downtown ATL.. I still have the complete 6 lug rear end for it, but that’s all I have left.. The only reason I changed it out was because I daily drove it..
@@19ADAM80 Keep looking for it, you might be able to find it again! That's the exact reason I wanted overdrive; no more screaming on the interstate and better gas mileage

They tend to do that!
Great to see someone so young happy about a old truck. 👍
Completely agree! He's a rare breed but we're working to change that. That's what United By Trucks is all about.
What a cool kid right there! Love the way he hits that driveway at full speed. Cool truck!
Haha that's my favorite part, too!

That's right! It all depends on what your goals are and what you can afford.
love all the great trucks!
Thanks!
Love the duck tape 👌
i want to see him put a 700r4 in it, with the overdrive, with torque converter lockup. that would be epic

It's all personal preference. We certainly don't lower everything but that's our style for sure.
Hey look, it's that guy I know
Good guy to know!
Hey, wow, would you look at that
I have spare working gauges for this truck and might still have a factory tach
Love it ! Man that dude is just so happy !! All he needs now is AC ! Everything about the truck is badass id leave it just like that ... maybe replace the windshield gasket and repair that rust ....
The rust around the windshield
AC would be nice, but too expensive lol. One day I will get a welder and fix all the holes, but for now, drive it as much as I can
He's a great guy! And yep, he's doing what he can when he can.
Christian Carpenter love your attitude man !! Love the truck !! I subscribed to your channel bro !
@@hermyherm365 thanks! I don't post much of anything on here, so if you want to keep up with the truck, follow my Instagram @cwcarpenter98

It's my favorite year of the trucks, and I love keeping this one on the road
Yes sir!
Hard to beat a 283, 3 on the column...
Those are some tuff suckers.
It's beat by one thing: 283, 3 on the column with OD. I'll never go back to a straight 3 speed. Always gotta have overdrive now

Sweet 63. I just don't drive mine in the rain. Be well.
Daily driver and no power steering 😎🤙
That’s right
Would like to know more about the trans
There will be an additional video all about the trans in the near future
We’ll have an episode fully devoted to the 3 speed OD in the very near future. Dare I say, Christian has become an expert on them.
I had a set of slots six lug to boot.
I just sold the pair I had because I've decided to go with stock caps and 15x8 steelies
