Right? It puzzles me - if they're at launch event one would assume they're rather competent riders... but these lines are pretty horrid sometimes... xd
They are more competent than I am. There's nothing wrong with their line. Cutting corners is OK as long as you got skills and brains. I do it as well, just not in front of the camera
this is why I appreciate these videos. Other moto RUclipsrs are so sloppy. Cutting and riding in stupid dangerous manners. It really bugs me. Schaaf is clean and top notch

I ordered one after taking it for a test drive, everything about it just feels "natural", as a Honda Transalp owner I was aiming to buy a GS or Africa twin, but the type of roads i drive, i can't justify it. I have driven the s1000xr quite alot, and the driving experience is not the same, this feals more like a stiffer and more powerfull f800gs, and that is not a bad thing!
Congrats. Im looking very seriously into it as well. My almost final choice of type of riding I do was Tracer 900GT, Multistrada 950S, and now new favourite f900XR. Tracer 900Gt just feels to cold for me (had MT09 before - it was stolen, while loved the bike, do not miss it much), Ducati - way to expensive nicely specked, and price for service is ridiculous in my area. F900XR looks like it has everything I would want - like from the bike. Now need just to wait for weather / availability for test drive. Question for: did you order side cases, and do you know how much they charge extra for it.
@@Tomas_Kubilius I did not order side cases, i´m going to wait until i see whats comes available from third parties as well, as i understood from the sales rep there is both hard and soft ones available from factory, my spec is: Red, with performance pack along with crash bars and tall windscreen, so i do get the factory case holders

As well as much I understand that hard ones are almost same as on r1200r/rs just different fixing point, what is good with it - bull face helmet can fit in them)

This bike seems to be a mix of "road trail" and " sport or sport-turismo" bike. Good mix in my opinion if many people want only road use. Dont know if there are other models that mix concepts like that ( ducati ?)

havent ridden the 900 xr yet, how does it compare in terms of handling? on paper the bikes look pretty similar. i feel like a aftermarket exhaust (e.g. mivv xm1) does its part for the "emotion".. 😎

Ein sehr schöner Sound, wie ich finde. Wie beurteilst Du die Lautstärke, Schaaf? Ich fahre zur Zeit die 1000xr und die ist mir ein bisschen zu laut auf langen Tagestouren. Wie immer ein klasse Video!
Das Bike muss Euro5 erfüllen und ist daher sehr leise. Warte am besten auf die neue S1000XR, die ist genauso wie die alte, nur mit wesentlich besseren Manieren :)
Schaaf ich dachte Euro 5 bezieht sich bis jetzt noch nicht auf den direkt auf den Sound ? Schade das sie wohl sehr leise ist. Wird ein anderer Auspuff keine Abhilfe schaffen?

ich habe sie 3 Jahre gefahren. Ein einfach tolles Bike. Jetzt fahre ich GS1250. Und vermisse schon das sportive der XR. Für Reisen ist die GS sicher das Maß der Dinge. Für 2-3h Tripps wie ich sie meistens fahre, ist vermutlich die XR die bessere Wahl.

@Mike W I saw it as well. For me question more is: does XR is enough better than 900GT to justify price difference? Keeping in mind price of nicely specked XR, not bare, and tracer 900gt comes with side cases, Im sure on XR it will cost 1k extra. Im looking for fun motorbike to have weekend trips. Power on both not an issue I think as had MT09 for two years and was more then enough, but for me personally sound of triple CP3 of Yamaha is not the best sound of motorbike. As well - let see how BMW will feel at the test drive. Third option was Ducati Multistrada 950s, was on test drive. Amazing motorbike - but not sure if I could live with vibration engine has on low and high revs, as well price of nicely specked one is way to high and for that price you can have very nice second hand BMW r1200gs (as well Ducati service in my location doesn't inspire trust).
@@Tomas_Kubilius 900xr well packed may cost 1-1.5k more than 900GT, but in my opinion you get a way better bike:
- 2020 design and technology with Euro5 vs 2015 design and technology with Euro4.
- Full led lights with cornering lights, ABS in corners, full quickshifter, electronic suspension on rear, direction suspension, extra security options like tire pressure, SOS...
- Option to have either big cases that can fit helmets, small cases or aftermarket cases. 900GT comes with tiny cases and ugly supports that are useless for aftermarket options.
- More accessible standard seat height and bigger range.
@@AnReO I totally agree with all point you wrote. Just maybe last one about bigger range. If you talk about fuel tank range - bmw has 15.5l capacity and 900GT has 18 litres. Fuel conception on BMW as stated 4.2 per 100km is not realistic. I drove F800GS last summer for Europe trip and had around 5.6 - 5.8 at its best. As well 900GT has led lights as standard (but no cornering lights and very ugly orange turn signals in stock version :) ) All in all Tracer feels dated design, and feels quite cold for me (I believe motorbike looks are as important as driving experience. I want to be as exited while looking at it as while driving). New tracer 700 looks much more 2020, but might be not catered to everyones taste. I think Yamaha will upgrade 900 tracer very soon. Still after owning two Yamahas (MT-07 and MT-09) - while they were amazing machines - excitement of them was wearing off with the time. They just didn't had that extra touch or character which hard to explain.
I can ride faster with the XR. But for more detailed verdict I'd need a direct comparison

Your line selection is much better than the bike in front of you. You wait a bit longer to turn allowing you better anticipate the end of the turn and exit straighter. It is much safer this way, especially for bigger bikes on narrow curvy roads.

Also wenn ich mir jetzt das Video ansehe, bin ich entsetzt zu sehen, wie Vauli da fährt. Dem ist die Linie völlig egal. Der benutzt auf der Rechtskurve die rechte Fahrbahn, auf der Linkskurve die linke Fahrbahn. Egal was kommt. Vauli hat Vorfahrt. Dagegen vollen Respekt Schaaf! Auf der Linkskurve bist du ganz rechts und fährst bis zur Fahrbahn Mitte und Rechtskurve genauso wie es sein muss! Dich beim fahren zu beobachten macht Spaß. Genau wie es im Buch vorgeschrieben wird. Go on!
Herzlichen Dank! Obwohl ich das nicht so eng sehe, Vauli weiß, was er tut. Im Gegensatz zu mir hat er noch keinen schweren Unfall gehabt, fährt aber doppelt so lange und viel wie ich. Und er kann ja sehen, ob was kommt :)

Ridden both recently - the KTM is waaaaaaay more engaging! And protection/comfort is better I'd say. The XR is however absolutely stunnning

Mal wieder ein geiles Video! Hatte mich bei der ersten Vorstellung schon in das Bike verliebt und war drauf und dran damit meine F 800 R zu ersetzen. War dann letzen Freitag bei BMW und musste aber feststellen, dass die 900XR nicht so gross ist wie gedacht / gehofft. Höher und bequemer als meine zwar, hatte aber mit mehr gerechnet. (bin 2,02m ;)
Jetzt werde ich wohl in den sauren (aber köstlichen) Apfel beissen und die neue S 1000 XR kaufen. :D
Ich hoffe, da schiebst Du bald auch noch ein Video von nach?!

Leider gibt es von der 1000er kein Video. Ich hab zwar gefilmt, aber unser Guide hatte keine Lust auf angemessenes Tempo. Das Video ist so langweilig, dass ich mich entschieden habe, es nicht hochzuladen, sorry. Die Sitzbankhöhe der XR kann übrigens massiv erhöht werden!
This bike seems a better match for that platform. The effortless canyon carver seems to be the whole point of these type of bikes. My little Versys 650 is much the same, you can carve canyons on it all day effortlessly.

It is ADV-ish but actually the bike is not made for offroading. But still it'll be happy to ride on dirt, more than a normal naked bike for sure

It is. Much easier handling makes up for the little lack of power. The 1250 however is a different story

It doesn't matter much!
The hell saved the tank for that extra 3-4 liters - again!
5.5l is realistic for ordinary riding

And the project leader has sacredly stated that it will not eat more than 4.5 liters to maintain the 350 km range.
Sure, 4.5 liters can be brought out, but why buy a motorcycle over 500 when only with that little power can it be achieved - or do you have to buy a top model when distance and motoring experience are important together ?!
But then, in that sense, it is again a "scrap" touring motorcycle and more like a (out of a dozen (and exploit useless)) fashion motorcycles.
R tank + 2,5 liter = XR tank -> Even with 4.5 liters of fuel consumption, only + 50 km range ... (Fuck the "engineers" who design "Visit every filling station on your way"! smile)

unfortunately not but you can be sure that a legal accessory Akra won't change a lot. It is no longer possible with the current and upcoming EURO-regulations

Hey Grüsse aus der Schweiz ich kan Verletzung bedingt zur zeit nichts probefahren und schau mir videos ohne ende an. 😅 Die BMW f900xr würde mich mega interessieren ob die auch schräg kann oder ob die Rasten dan schon früh Alarm schlagen ?
Alternativ hab ich noch die Triumph Tiger 900 im Visier 🙈 aber die kann bekanntlich nicht sehr schräg 😐

Schaaf find die Linie total schlecht, vor allem im Vergleich zu Deiner. Total oft im Gegenverkehr, mit den Reifen oder mit dem Kopf.
@@Asgardsrei finde da nichts grausliches dran, ich fahre genau so, wenn die Kamera läuft. So lange man nach vorne sieht, ist das kein Problem

Vauli fährt 3mal so gut wie ich. Ich fahr die selbe Linie, ohne Kamera. Ihm ist das einfach egal, mir aber gehen die Kommentare auf die Nerven, deswegen reiss ich mich bei laufender Kamera zusammen
Bin davon ausgegangen, dass Vauli besser fährt als du. Zu mindest "erfahrener". Wie soll es auch anders sein. Aber nun ist mir klar warum ihr zwei nicht in den 1000PS "Fahrsicherheits-Videos" mitmachen durftet...😜🤙

Wie zum Geier konnte Vauli mit dieser Performance eine grössere Schräglage als Du auf das BMW-Display zaubern?!? Ich will ja glauben, dass er es kann und hoffe, dass es wirklich gesundheitliche Gründe hatte, die ihn bewogen haben die nahezu aufrechteste und kürzeste Linie durch die Kurven zu wählen.
Er kanns besser als ich, das steht fest. Ich fahre genau so wie er, wenn die Kamera nicht läuft. Aber ich habe einfach keine Lust auf die ganzen Kommentare der Linien-Prediger

...ich denke, dass du es zumindest genauso gut kannst (mittlerweile kennt man Dein grundloses eigenes UnderRating) und bei der Linienwahl deiner Vorausfahrer würde ein Video irgendwie keinen Sinn machen, schon gar nicht auf Deinem Kanal.
Dass einen der Schlamper- oder Bummelmodus überkommt geht aber an sich klar.👍

I personally think this engine might have been somewhat good in a sportsbike chassis, kinda like what Suzuki did with the SV. I would love to have this XR, though, but would be needing to have some stuff done *cough* cat removal and full open system *cough cough*

Never ever sell Tiger for this. Tiger is a proper ADV bike.
