Definetly agree with the Gears of war 2 and 3 picks. Having items to work towards helps the players actually keep interest. Although, one thing I'm interested in is when, or if they even add a ranked system for multiplayer, I HOPE they make it like a mix of old gears 5 with the actual ranks like gold and onyx, and with the current leaderboard.
I bet they will have a ranked system again, but I prefer the old one with actual ranks! It makes things a bit more fun to strive for! But the leaderboard system is great too, always cool to see exactly where you are in the world! But yeah, the actual ranks is just the norm for a reason in most games!
I agree with everything that you said in the video, but I do like the in game currency so I can buy specific character that I like but don't really want to grind to get, so I would put in game based unlocked characters and characters that you could buy.
I could def get behind that idea! The ability to buy characters is great, but unlockable ones through challenges should def be in the game, even if its just the rare/ultra rare ones!
To me, GoW 3 had the best system. I liked the progression system via the challenges. But I especially _loved_ the MP Skin challenges. Best example: whenever you saw someone with the Savage Theron skin, to me it just commanded a kind of respect. As you knew they completed Beast Mode on Insane without failing. A task and a half, in and of itself. And I love how you could use the Medals, along with whatever Title you had unlocked for your profile. Anything that allows you to do that kind of customization is badass, to me.
There's something about unlocking an exclusive skin or seeing someone with an exclusive skin that just screams "awesome"! They couldn't just buy the skin using real money or in-game currency, they had to put in the work to do it which is respectable! So far, I cannot ever deny that the Gears of War 3 system has not been my favorite, specifically for its long-term rewards!

Bring Cliffy B back for creative decisions. 3. MAKE EVERYTHING PLAYABLE OFFLINE AGAIN. Fix the dang engine so that we can do horde and other gamemodes while earning customization while not connected to the internet. 4. Everything you said. I too want to earn things and not rely on a random system or its consolation prize of scrap. 5. Where the frick has Adam Fenix been in MP? He was super lore important but we get non lore canon reskins of dead characters? Barrick died before being able to be a hive buster, alex existed in a comic and as a side character in a book. 6. I want optional visual customization for weapons like in gears tactics. Don't need the modifiers, just the texture options and visual attachments. Earnable, too. 7. Horde needs to have its classes more generalized for players that are offline or solo. 8. Human growth hormone treatment plans in every copy so we can all be capable of backward rolling up stairs.
So much I want to talk about! 1. I've actually emailed Karen Travis before about if she would ever return to Gears! She said she was happy where she finished at the end of Gears of War 3 and was motivated to move on to her on things afterwards. So we might not get her back but it would be awesome if she did return! The dialogue IS my biggest issue in the new trilogy, its very corny much of the time lol 2. Cliffy B has said in interviews he would be down to return and I think at least as a consultant would be cool for ideas! 3. Absolutely, no reason offline shouldn't be a thing especially with singleplayer game modes! 5. I KNOW! They have the power to bring everyone back, so I don't see why not! Hell they brought Alicia Valera and Barrick back before Adam! Alex Brand would be cool too, we've only had her in Judgment strangely enough 6. Could be a cool idea, I would be worried this would be microtransaction'ed to hell but a cool idea nonetheless! 7. I do think the classes are too much, while I can enjoy the aspect of a lot of options, its starting to feel like way to much. I'd love to see Adam as an MP skin. Specifically, how he looks in the comic, Gears of War: They Also Serve. I understand that takes place during the Pendulum Wars. But, we had Commando Dom in GoW 3 and I feel that would look _a lot_ better, compared to the one we got of Adam in the same game.

I’ve had this idea for a unique rewards system for a while. Basically you have something similar to the tour of duty in gears 5, however, instead of earning coins you earn armor that you can use to customize your characters or weapons with. Once you have collected your rewards for the tour of duty and about to unlock the character at the end , right before that happens you are given a challenge to complete first. You’ll be put into a challenge where you’d have to face a berserk in a vicinity and try to kill it without using the hammer of dawn …or maybe a challenge where you have to kill general raam with only a pistol and few ammo at your disposal …or maybe a challenge where you have to fight skorge on a dark map full of kryll The challenge difficulty would be based off of who you are going to unlock in game .. e.g if you were to unlock a very well-liked character like Benjamin caramine, you might be challenged with escaping the inside of a rift worm or something of similar difficulty. For challenges you would also be able to invite friends to help you beat them ! Once you beat the challenge together, while you get to unlock the character that you wanted, your friend will get to earn points and prizes for helping out!
A very unique idea, I don't recall any game that has done something like this! Sounds a bit like a battle pass with a twist at the end! I do wonder if E-Day will be the game we get our own customizable Gear but if we do, definitely being able to unlock more and more items would be a MUST. I'd love to see what kind of challenges they would come up with if they decided to do something similar to this!
I feel that the challenge base unlock system is something most games don't do anymore. Like i wouldn't mind it since it shows you took the time to get this character or weapon skin. Like say for E-day if you want to play as a.. onyx guard and/or palace guard, you must beat e-day on insane difficulty. I think gears of war 2 and 3s way of doing it was the best. Like play all 3 games to unlock a weapon skin set
I personally can't think of any big title games that do challenge based unlocks anymore which really sucks! I feel like it creates a cool environment of people feeling unique and special should they take on the challenge and succeed. Being one of the few people to have it makes it all that better to unlock. Sure, being able to unlock things using a currency is nice to get exactly what you want, but I would love to see at least SOME things locked behind challenges!

Honestly i just hope hoard isn't as easy as G5s, 2s will always be my favorite. Also tactics was much more enjoyable than i expected coming from someone who's never played those types of games
Gears 5 while I enjoy being able to aim for what I want, I thought wasn't doing enough to drive people to keep playing! Especially in the long-term. Gears 2 had challenge unlocks which I absolutely love and it was expanded upon immensely in 3!

I think they should do something like Helio scroll from halo 5 guardians where you have to complete something from all the previous games for something like bonus credits to buy customizable's, a special rank, medal, or piece or pieces of armor

have we ever thought of the fact that gears E-day could make us play our own Gears soldier ? Kinda like Halo Reach, maybe on a PvPvE or just PvE with city controll warfare. Or just in campaign, following Marcus and dom but actually playing our own COG soldier.
YEEESSS! That would be so cool! I've always thought they could do something like the Halo Spec Ops from Halo 4, where we could have our own separate campaign with our unique characters!
We all know there’s gonna be monetization. I’m personally ok with it. Not a big deal. I think there should be like long term grind skins/ cosmetics that you can grind for. But make them look good and worth it. And if we’re taking any monetary form from a game. Late in gears 5 is my choice. The skins and options we had on that were gorgeous. I was always going back to the snowfit Kait and her twitch skin, solely because of how good they did character design. Which I hope we get a good amount of in E-day. I’m worried that they won’t have a lot of options to use or pull from so hopefully we get a good amount.
Yeah, monetization is unfortunately the reality of gaming for the forseeable future but hopefully its not as egregious as games like Halo Infinite or COD! I'd like to see all the characters and skins return, whether or not its at launch! Bring them back cause, why not? Give us the currency system if they must, but give us even more options to play with

The biggest thing i wanna see in e day is character unlocks rather than pay wall blocks for dlc characters I can understand but locking new characters behind a pay wall is really stupid

Nomatter what we need the challenge based unlocks, and they NEED TO BE HARD. And medals and ribbons back. Gears 3 was the golden era to this day.
