We always had liver growing up and we all loved it. My mom always cooked bacon then fried the onions in the bacon grease then the lately breaded liver. We served it with the onions and bacon on top.

Thank you for this video! I am a reformed city gal and I hate wasting any part of an animal that gave its life to feed me. I am especially thankful for your ideas on how to not have to taste the liver. :)
Pro tip for slicing: I trim the liver to the size I will need to fit in my frozen meat slicer (about 6 inches wide), then freeze the liver. I found a hand operated frozen meat slicer on amazon for about 50 bucks (It looks like a guillotine paper trimmer). I can slice a whole liver in about 2 minutes and all the slices are uniform sizes.
I use it to dehydrate all my organ meats, frozen chicken breasts, venison, and beef for jerky. I recommend level 9 anti cut gloves, you can totally lose a thumb!?!?!
EDIT: However, I like your Vitamix idea as well. Definitely more versatile to use. I'm just making dog treats.

Thank you for this video! This idea come across my mind today when I heard my brother talk about chicken liver. Chicken has the same amount of protein as chicken breasts, but is 2 to 4 times cheaper than chicken breasts. This method showed on video will help me making protein intake easier, healthier and cheaper 😁

Great information. Some bad press with liver is that it is high in cholesterol. Although this is correct, the nutritional benefits outweigh the cholesterol. However, I am not well informed on the cholesterol conundrum with dehydrated liver. Do you have any information on this. Either way, great job, thank you. I am loving all you girls, especially the cheese videos. My regards to the twins.
Ive been anemic for aa long as i can remember , i am carnivore and doing only omad and dont thibk i eat enouhh of redeat to get the iron i need. I dehydrating beef liver tomorrow and i will do 1tsp a week. Ty for all your info God bless.
get some spleen and dehydrate and take it. Most iron dense food out there. Way more than liver ,but can always do both

Thanks for your video, Amberlin! Some of our children love it when I cook up onions and liver in butter and salt! I find I don't feed it often enough though that way! I still have a whole beef liver cleaned in my freezer. Do you think I could take it out and dehydrate it? Seems easy enough, with you teaching us how! I just need to invest in a good dehydrator or borrow one!

I've heard of soaking liver in milk or maybe buttermilk to remove liver taste. Is it obsolete to do so with this process?
Hi, great video! I have few questions if you dont mind. I saw you put 74 celcius, how long the timer would be ? And when you washed the liver multiple times to draw the blood out and kept it a night with salt water, will this make the jerky last longer ?

I have NEVER seen or heard anyone die from liver exposure and would welcome any evidence or proof it is fatal to ones health.
You can overdose on vitamin A, which can be dangerous and can cause some heart issues. Everything good in moderation!
