I love this, but so many homesteading channels are focusing on freeze driers instead of dehydrating like they used to. While this video DID provide instructions for both (and I so appreciated that!) I wish more videos had more than just the freeze dry instructions.

Liver and onions was a childhood staple in our house! I absolutely loved it... when i use to go to daycare back in the 80's they actually use to serve it at the daycare and I was the ONLY child there who would ask for seconds... SOOO GOOD!

Great video. I don’t like it with onions, but liver soaked in milk and then put into a stew is wonderful. Over some rice..great👌🏾

I love being able to make my own beef liver powder.
Instead of slicing the liver I just puree it and freeze dry it. 😊

👍 If you don't like the flavour of liver, try mincing it up and adding it to beef mince for bolognese sauce, or meatballs, or chilli con carne, etc. Start with 2 parts beef to 1 part liver, and adjust from there. Bacon bits also go well with liver, so try adding 2 parts of bacon bits to the mince/liver combo, and adjust from there.
Also helps to stretch the beef which is a lot more costly than liver

I dehydrate raw liver slices until they are crispy dry, and keep them in the freezer to use as treats for my dog. They are dry enough to carry round in my pocket and the neighborhood doggies love them too (with permission).

I am not a fan of liver, but this is a great ideal.
I made fire cider, so I dried the items after it was strained, then powdered it up. I made some capsules from it.

What brand of freeze dry machine do you recomend? I have a dehydrator. What is the biggest difference between a dehydrator & freeze dryer? Do you think there is there enough of a difference to get one?🤔

When looking into what amounts of vitamins and minerals we can get from taking 3000mg (0.1058219 ounces) of beef liver in a supplement form (which is a standard serving size) we unfortunately cannot really find out! Converting milligrams to grams and then determining nutrient content per gram is complex and requires specific data. Nutrient content can vary significantly based on factors like the animal's diet, age, and how the liver was processed. While we know beef liver is nutrient-dense, precise figures for such a small quantity are generally not available in standard nutritional databases. While we can't provide exact figures, we can tell you that 3000mg (or 3 grams) of beef liver is a relatively small amount. While it will still contain some vitamins and minerals, it's unlikely to be a significant source of nutrients compared to a larger serving. So skip the beef liver supplements. I learned the hard way, health wise and dollar wise.

I would suggest after the food processor then use something like a NutriBullet900. I have both and the NB dose a better job powdering. Also could you pack more into the pill using like a pencil eraser. just a thought
