Great review, I had a heck of a time setting it up, I'm glad you said about going in and checking your settings, etc. I purchase two of them for security around my property. Thanks' again......
Have 3 of them sent one back as it would not take night pics. The second is hit or miss on taking pics compared to my regular trail camera set right next to it. The third is acting normal so far. Wish they has a setting to take a pic from the app when your not there to use wifi and the test button so you don't have to go back to the camera to check if it's not sending or you don't know that it is. Pics aren't bad but not near as good as my Browning.
We have not had any issues with them yet. I agree I wish you could test it from anywhere as well. We have not tried any of brownings products yet but maybe soon
Yes we have been using the same camera from the video as well as another bought at the same time plus others bought throughout the year. The nighttime pictures as long as they are close are good
How long would the batteries last in a Canadian winter. Likely very little activity. But could be -30 by times. On an island no real access spring and fall we are concerned about
I can’t give you an exact estimate because we have never used it in temperatures like that but with lithium ion batteries I would imagine it would work for most of winter
The cameras have the carriers built in it does not go by your cellphone provider. The different carriers are just depending on where you are at and which one will get the best service there
You can change it both ways. If you do it away from the camera over cellular it takes up to 24 hours to update but if you do it on the cameras wifi it is instant
Thanks for the video. I'm a little concerned because in a matter of a week and a half, I had over 1000 pics on a standard game cam. So the Pro-package cuts you off at 500? Thanks!
I have one, but since you cannot turn it on and off remotely, I am deactivating it. I think they do it intentionally. To make you pay or upgrade to a larger plan. But thanks for the video!!
The Reveal cameras are great but I cannot afford to run the 20 cams that I normally do so this is why I choose SpyPoint cameras. Very affordable to run.
, it looks like this is a little bit better than the link w by spy point because it has Wi-Fi. other than that I see a live feed. and I'm not sure if there's anything else that's better. I think the plans are the same price.
Better get a plan that has the best coverage for your area. We thought about Verizon because Verizon was the only phones that worked in the area for 15+ years, once we got it installed and setup we realized we were only getting very poor reception. Comes to find out our AT&T other HD digital Wifi camera has a lot more coverage and has 4G LTE coverage. Just be sure to know which phone plans who have the best reception
@@CentralPaOutdoorsmen yeah when I worked at the sheriffs office for 15 years we had to use Verizon out there, and ever since they put in a new tower miles away it causes all sorts of problems for Verizon customers but what’s funny way out in the deer woods up on the mountain my brother gets 5G on his phone, while I have 1 or 2 bars of Verizon
I want to buy this and take it to this mountain hike at 5,000 ft and mount it on a tree out of curiosity what happens there 24/7 365 when i’m not there , day / night lol . Will this work for me ? How long will battery last for me before i must hike back up there to set new battery? also will i be able to watch live pics / video on my phone ?
You would have to see what kind of cellular coverage you get at this spot and which provider would be best for you. If you use lithium ion batteries they last a couple months before you have to change them depending on how many pictures it takes. You can’t watch it live but you can get the pictures sent instantly to your phone to view
I was curious if the camera saves an HD version on the SD card that you could eventually retrieve and not have to pay the extra fee for? I’m also assuming they offer a solar option?? Good review guys 👍
There are three different megapixel settings (8,12,16) which is what would be on the sd card if you pulled it like a regular camera. I do believe they offer a solar option on their website.
Can the live mode only be used while you're near the camera and connected to its wifi? Or can you connect to view live feed via the app when you're away? In other words, through the cell service?
I got one. Garbage! Why? Cause the tight wads at Tacta Cam, want to stick to you on HD pics. You pay for 16 mega pixels. They send you a grainy pic. I'm guessing the ones on the card are good. Doesn't matter! You pay for Whiskey, but getting Snake Oil, elixir in return. Camera, is good. But the company is runs by tight wads that hold your pics hostage until you either pay up ,or retrieve your card. Which defeats the purpose of a Cell camera.
I’m using 8 of these cameras totally awesome
Can’t beat the price on these bad boys. Personally one of my favorites
Great review, I had a heck of a time setting it up, I'm glad you said about going in and checking your settings, etc. I purchase two of them for security around my property. Thanks' again......
It’s definitely a learning curve setting them up at first. I’m glad we could help!
I just got my 4th tactacam reveal, my newest is the reveal x though. I’ve had great success with these things though over the past year
We love our 4 that we run
Thanks for going into some detail about setup
Thanks for watching hopefully it was helpful to you!

Now that a new season is coming, are you going to use the same cameras? Also how was it for nighttime pics?
Yes we have been using the same camera from the video as well as another bought at the same time plus others bought throughout the year. The nighttime pictures as long as they are close are good
@@CentralPaOutdoorsmen what do you consider close? Do you have a video showing? Thanks
Within about 50ft

Planning on picking up a few as well. Could you use any carrier on the service besides Verizon? And the reason why I ask is cause I have AT&T
The cameras have the carriers built in it does not go by your cellphone provider. The different carriers are just depending on where you are at and which one will get the best service there
Is the only way to change settings to go to the camera and do it over wifi or can you change settings via cellular on the app?

Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the video. I'm a little concerned because in a matter of a week and a half, I had over 1000 pics on a standard game cam. So the Pro-package cuts you off at 500? Thanks!
Yes it would. You have to be careful where you place it and what settings you have one
Actully the pro plan is unlimited the intermediate plan cuts you off at 500 pics
Great review guys. I'm leaning heavy towards picking a few of these up.
They are definitely very nice to have in your arsenal!
If you’re using a Tactacam that is deactivated (to save money for a month or two), can you still adjust the camera settings remotely through the app?
We have never personally tried that but I would have to say most likely not.
I have one, but since you cannot turn it on and off remotely, I am deactivating it. I think they do it intentionally. To make you pay or upgrade to a larger plan. But thanks for the video!!
Thanks for watching the video! I definitely agree it would be a nice feature maybe in the future they will add it.
The Reveal cameras are great but I cannot afford to run the 20 cams that I normally do so this is why I choose SpyPoint cameras. Very affordable to run.
Very understandable. We only run a few each ourselves and then still rely on traditional cameras
Hey great review just a quick question when you purchase the plan with tactacam do you have to pay a separate fee with your service provider also ?? 😅
No you don’t have to pay any additional fees with your phone service provider.
@@CentralPaOutdoorsmen thanks man

They are definitely good cameras for the money if you can find them at retail price and not price gouged online

That is a good idea to do. We use all Verizon right now for our cell cameras

I love mine, works great in Canada
Thanks for watching! We love ours too!
Does it have pipe thru hole in back for python cable lock??
Looking to get 4 in Ohio.
Yes it does. You can also get security boxes for them
do you know if you can remove that antenna and buy an external one that works where you can raise the antenna up and get better signal strength?
As far as I know you cannot. You can only use the antenna that comes with it
Can you have pictures sent to 2 different cell phones?
Yea if you sign in with the same information
Yes you can

@@CentralPaOutdoorsmen THANK YOU 👊🏻
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching hope it was helpful!
So when you have the best plan you only get 500 pics, i thought the best plan was unlimited?
The best plan is unlimited. You have other options like 500 a month
Can these cameras be used even if you don't have cell service?
No it has to be connected to the cell service to be used
@@CentralPaOutdoorsmen thanks
They can be, but you have to manually go check the sd card
Is 32gb memory the minimum or does it specifically have to be a 32gb card
You can use any size card. We are using 16gb cards.
So how much was the pro plan per month?
It depends if you go monthly or yearly
I was curious if the camera saves an HD version on the SD card that you could eventually retrieve and not have to pay the extra fee for? I’m also assuming they offer a solar option??

What camera are you guys using?
We filmed this video on a canon rebel sl3
Can the live mode only be used while you're near the camera and connected to its wifi? Or can you connect to view live feed via the app when you're away? In other words, through the cell service?
You have to have the camera in the setup mode and have to be connected to the built in wifi so you can only see the live feed while at the camera
will it send pictures with 1 bar?
It probably would but we wouldn’t recommend it
How much are the plans?
They start at $5 and go up to $15 depending on what plan you get
Are the plans per month?
They can be by month or by the year
can you use it with a laptop?????????
Yes. You can pull the card and save photos to a laptop
I just wish I could find one for sale at retail price.
It’s a shame people are jacking the prices up
Walmart has them for 119 just ordered one
They used to be hard to find in the summer but It looks like they are becoming more readily available
@@CentralPaOutdoorsmen yep I’m glad I found one
Why can't someone make a cell camera that works !!!!
Our tactacams are working just fine
Thx for the review
