    I have the exact same gun in .45 ACP, has never failed to feed or shoot great regardless of brand ammo.Magtech is the ammo mine likes the best (most accurate).

      what holster do you use for it. Just bought the 45acp steel compact and I'm looking for a holster. I'd love recommendations.

    I have that same pistol and I've never had any feeding problems with it except for flat nose bullets. Mine will eat anything except those. I fired several different brands of ammo in it and my own reloads and never had a problem.

      Problem is, nearly all .40 S&W is flat nose projectile. Ive polished my ramp to no avail. It will feed projectiles with a more rounded profile.

    and I agree with him. Steel frame more balanced better accuracy less recoil more durable better shooter so long as you don't carry and it's for home defense in at the range it's much better than any polymer. totally agree!!

    I've got a Tangfoglio Elite Pro 9mm (Oustanding Weapon)! Next on my list is the Witness Match (like this Gentleman's but in .45) as well as the Witness Steel Compact .45acp. The Tanfoglio and Witness Pistols are all on the CZ Platform and VERY Fine Quality firearms. They are Imported by E.A.A. (European American Arms) in Florida.

    I suspect you've had no problems feeding FMJ rounds and when you said it would only feed Hornadys you were talking about defense rounds. Polish your feed ramp with a Dremmel tool and some Flitz or MAAS metal polish until it shines like a mirror. Once you've done that, it will feed hollow-points all day long. This is the first thing I do with all of my pistols, plus a good cleaning and lubrication job. You'd be surprised how many people buy a gun, take it out of the box and shoot it, without P.M.ing it first. Makes all the difference.

      5Ring 600 grit, 1000, 1500 grit sandpaper, water, gun oil and a lot of patience also works to polish the feed ramp. That's how I did mine.

      I use a Dremel on low to medium speed, a soft bullet-shaped tip with Flitz or you may even use toothpaste in a pinch

    Heavy is fine. With the inside-frame slide mount, the barrel is lower, and with the weight of the steel frame, recoil is more manageable.
    People talk about the CZ design as if it were a stand-alone invention, but one look at a Browning Hi-Power blows that claim right out of the water.
    You can still see the DNA of the Browning in the (cough) "CZ clones," and that's a fine pedigree.
    Trigger pull on DA is somewhere around 12lbs, then drops to neighborhood of 5 on the short, crisp SA follow-ups. Solid gun, well made. Some aftermarket CZ 75b mags are claimed to fit, and EAA mags are said to be pricey, but that's if you just get one.
    On EAA's website, for the 13-round 9mm compact with manufacturer-recommended part number, the price drops from $40 apiece to $25 each if you buy multiples. $25 bucks is a great price, so just get 2 or 3 and you're good.

    The problem with ALL Witness's, Compact or full-size, is that they are boat anchors. I like that the polymers are much lighter, but they feel too awkward for me. I LOVE the balance of the Compact, but I couldnt carry it all day long. I pretty much carry nothing but my Kel Tec PF-9 now. I want to get me a KAHR PM40, but that will have to wait because of the price!

    Im looking at the Limited Pro 10mm.4.75 Barrel.One thing with a Witness Fullsize,there boat anchors.They work better being carried in a shoulder rig,if you can get one.Esp for a 4,75 barrel.But the grip is unreal and very accurate.

    U still "carry" this thing? I love mine and Its bullseye at 20yards but it feels like a brick. Best for my glove box or near the bed. But edc? Maybe open carry in allowed states but concealed, nah. Def agree it Does Feel great in the hand tho

  • @xMrPopeyex

    Actually, I got rid of this pistol about a week or so ago. I know I gave it a decent review, and it IS a decent gun. But DAMN is it heavy! For the price, I would maybe recommend a S&W M&P .40, or even a Kahr PM40. They are a LOT lighter, and are the same caliber.
    I have installed just a couple of upgrades in my Match, for now. I just have a lighter spring and firing pin. I haven't done more to it because I have been converting a Saiga 7.62x39. It's done, so hopefully I can do more soon.

      Thanks for informative video. I am a huge CZ fan and seeking a non-1911 10mm, and the EAA Witness / Tanfoglio seems like an affordable option. You mentioned you got rid of yours due to weight. I prefer heavier guns, especially in larger calibers (above .357) as I feel it reduces recoil. This is why I prefer Ruger Redhawk 44 mag over S&W Model 29 (beautiful gun that shoots like crap), and why I chose CZ 75 and Sig P6 over any all polymer Glock, or half polymer half aluminum.

    i love me some handguns. i have everything from a $90 lorcin to a $1500 colt, but have never owned or shot a tanfoglio. i was interested in the 10mm but after reading these comments im scared. do the poly frames have problems like the steel? these are kinda a difficult gun to get info on. any suggestions, good or bad would be helpful. great video

    dry firing should be integral in your training. tactical training should include a great deal of dry fire.

  • @xMrPopeyex

    Nah, never measured it. I actually got rid of it. It was just WAY too heavy to carry. I carry my KelTec PF9 everywhere I go now. Want to get me a Kahr or S&W. Weight and carryability is more important to me now. lol

    I have this gun in a 10.Those rounded slides suck.EAA per my request replaced with older square slide as rounded off ones have less metal and crack.However,i would not recomend this particula gun in a 10.It will work,but only right with mild 10 loads and lack of getting stiffer spring.Slide mass just isn't there for the real 10 round.Go with a Match on up.

  • @xMrPopeyex

    "the only ammo that you can find that feeds correctly" what the hell are you talking about? i have the identical pistol and i fired everytjhing from hornady to shit fed premies. easily 2000 rounds and never had any sort of issue. great pistol , nice and heavy,accurate you really feel it on your side. like you said makes you feel like a man. cxan't relate to the feeding issue though.

  • @bvscfanatic
    @bvscfanatic 11 лет назад +1

    I bought the EAA Witness compact in .45 ACP and have had at least one failure to chamber a round in all but one single magazine full. This is absolutely unacceptable in ANY handgun. The excuse that "oh, the gun just doesn't LIKE that particular ammo" is, in my humble opinion, bullshit. None of my Ruger pistols cry about what sort of ammo I shoot in them. Neither do my Bersa pistols. Not even my Taurus pistols (and everybody loves to bash Taurus). So I am unimpressed with the Witness.

    I don't really have any knowledge for you on the Poly frames. Either way, if you plan on carrying any of the Tanfoglio/EAA's, get something else. They are great guns, but there's only like one aftermarket company that makes parts, including holsters. I would just buy something else, honestly.

    The barrels on the compacts with the rounded slide are poor quality.The rounded slides are of poor quality.Sent mine back requesting the older slab slide,explained FTF issue.Recieved older slide,black,cool touch and a smoother barrel in feed ramp.They went down hill changing their product and appear to be getting away from those crappy light slides.Also compact should be feed med loads,no heavy.14lb dual spring only.

      dewalt1799 I have SAR B6 Compact stainless slide mag holds 13 and it shoots 115 124 and 147 grain 9mm but in the manual it states plus P not recommended. I have heard that people who used Plus P ammo and rapid fire tend to have the firing pin or the guide rod break but with regular ammo rapid fire is fantastic but I usually practice double tap when at the range

    If you can only shoot Hornadys why would you want to keep a pistol like that??? There could come a day where you are in a "pinch" and don't have your Hornadys. Then what do you do??????

  • @xMrPopeyex
    @xMrPopeyex  12 лет назад

    Doing so hurts nothing. Dry firing CAN affect the firing pin. Do a little research and learn your weapons homie.
