I’ve commented it a few times but, I just hope to help show, TRF knows what he’s talking about! This channel has given me the confidence in so many lures, top water frog especially and I have caught one every single time I’ve fished one! Best bite is the top water frog!
These videos where you're fishing the presentation, and teaching it by doing it, are great! My son & I have been out bass fishing everyday since school ended. He's 13 and your videos have been beneficial to us both. Thank you!
hey tyler i just got back into fishing and it is so fun again, when i started watching you it made it so much better. honestly thanks for being very down to earth and chill
Tyler thank you for sharing your day on the lake I love watching that too water explosion has to find some double first but you got your biggins!!! It’s also a delight to see you mentoring a young angler out there and getting him started on the right path I salute you brother! Take care tight lines and God bless!❤
Your comment about not knowing anyone catching walleyes on topwater reminded me of fishing the Mississippi River near St. Cloud, Minnesota, one evening last October and catching a 19-inch walleye on a Whopper Plopper 110mm loon colored lure while top water fishing for smallmouths.
Keep reading the walleye top water comments and I'm so jealous of y'all, been fishing NY and surrounding tristate over 15 years and have yet to catch a walleye, yet had a buddy get one standing next to me on a bank of the Delaware (t-rig yum dinger though)maybe one will surprise me this morning when I go to feed the water puppies 😅 👊
i notice you have a budget and “nice” combos in your description always. i think a nice tackle video describing a hand full of combos some being budget and “nice” and what you use them for would be nice as a buying guide for anglers who want nice equipment but not to give an arm and a leg
I just got back into fishing. Man I forgot how much I love it! I am now sharing that love and making memories with my son. I love your energy and passion! Keep up the great work! 👍
I watched you last video i would agree on good glasses not made of glass, Z87 ballistic glasses was a requirement in the U.S Army when i was in, i would say those ballistic glasses might be an option for punching and flipping with heavy oz sinkers. Oakley and wileyX make alot of Z87 ballistic glasses that look like actual sunglasses.
I definitely have caught some walleyes on poppers on the st croix in MN. I’m sure they learned it from the white bsss and smallies since those fish push bait up shallow and bust on them. So the eyes do it too.
Hey Tyler great video and yes I caught a 3.5 pound walleye on Crooked Lake, Minnesota back in 2005 on a fire tiger hula popper while fishing for smallmouth!
I’ve caught those warmouths skipping docks with a full size ragecraw and with a pegged weight and it ate the whole thing. I caught two of them under the same dock
The one and only walleye I ever caught was on a tiny strike king rocket shad....the walleye was about 14 inches. I was a newbie back then and didn't immediately know what it even was, I thought it looked incredibly prehistoric lol
Hey Tyler, I’ve heard of guys catching top water walleye but it’s always been at night, never heard of it during the day. Also do you find largemouth this shallow up in MN?
this video helped me a lot before i watched this video i was only throwing a spinnerbait cause that's what my dad uses and normally so do i but pier fishing is different i threw a frog and instantly i put in the weeds and reeled in an 8 pounder second cast this guy knows fishing
After fishing from a kayak for the past year, I put braid to leader on all five of my set-ups. The pros outweigh the cons by a huge margin. I don't like the sound of it going through my guide's,I know it's making the same noise going through weeds and stuff but it gives me such killer hook set potential, even when I'm not really paying attention lol
If I was going to buy that rage bug or the space monkey for fishing in more dirty and deepish to deeper water and around boat docks, piers and structure in my local lake, would I want that rage bug or the space monkey? I watched a video of you the other day very much talking up the space monkey, sounded like you liked that one a lot. The space money looks like it may have more action and a slightly bigger profile. Which one would you recommend?
@@TylersReelFishing In that question, I left out fishing in the summer with one or the other. (So right now.) Is the space monkey still the better one for summer fishing?
I need to practice flipping and pitching. Everytime i do it i get backlashes. Im gonna go watch you flipping tutorial again and flip in my front yard. Lol
On your top water video a few days ago you recommended the Mach 2, but this one you recommended Mach jacked combo … I am planning to get one reel for top water. Which of the 2 would you recommend?
Thanks for the reply everyone! Would be interested in a video possibly about how to launch these suckers? I’m in west Texas with basically no water so my experience is very limited
Where my house is sucks the only pond that is close is 5 miles away and it sucks it’s tiny and has this almost 5 inch layer of this thick green algae that a can’t fish through
POPPERS have been on fire this summer! using the Megabass Popmax 1/2 oz in white python has yielded some very nice fish! Got to submit a lunker on bass forecast for the first time! lets hope its accepted! 🎣
So was not me personally. But my boss on Mosquito Lake here in Ohio caught a 24” walleye on a toad in less than 2ft of water and it sharked the toad. He thought it was a giant bass but it was a walleye. Only person I know to ever have that happen

Yeah buddy, keep watching TylersReelFishing you'll learn a whole lot more, about a lot more
@TylersReelFishing do you have a discount code with MACH? Im wanting a MACH MH combo somthing fierce!
@@TylersReelFishing I will beginner with bait casters. Can you make a video on how to use them?

I love these videos where you aren’t talking specifically about something but just teaching about what you are doing and how to catch fish
Gonna be doing more of these!

Fun little video, Tyler. Taylor is one lucky kid to get to work with you and learn from you at such a young age.
We have a ton of fun that’s for sure
It’s a good time!
Threw a Custom frog yesterday on some vegetation and man that topwater bite is FUN!

Tyler + 🐸 = pure fun
You should make a crankbait mastery video like you did with jigs and texas rigs.
Love what you do Tyler, excited to enjoy this video.
Hope you enjoyed it!

I've caught a walleye on a top water spook last summer. Lol

@@TylersReelFishing it was super unexpected because whitebass was schooling by the dam.

Which crooked??
@@TylersReelFishing it’s the crooked lake near Finland, MN…small lake but has massive muskies and decent size walleyes and smallies!
Gwaaaawshhhh hahaha I love your Hookset vocals. Gwaaawssh! 😂❤ I might start using that
I can’t help it haha
I've caught several walleye on topwater up in MI, mostly poppers, every now and then a walking bait or a popper.
love the videos, keep it up! learn a lot from you
Thanks, will do!
That spot you guys are fishing looks like Bass heaven it looks amazing and beautiful there besides the heat Lol
You got that right!
Love the content you create. Would personally love to see you try some lower south carolina rivers out!
Hopefully one day!

Great video and information thank you
Glad it was helpful!
I've caught 2 walleye on an evergreen spook at lake Roosevelt along with a rainbow trout and a bunch of smallies lol
Wild lol
I caught six of them last year on a Zara Spook in Lake Gaston North Carolina
The one and only walleye I ever caught was on a tiny strike king rocket shad....the walleye was about 14 inches. I was a newbie back then and didn't immediately know what it even was, I thought it looked incredibly prehistoric lol
Never a walleye, but quite a few channel cats, which are just as fun as bass on top water
Gotta love a topwater hit!
100%!!
16:07 tyler ur the second! im first😂
Lol
TRF fish whistle at 4:20?!? Can’t be a coincidence can it?
Might just be spray off the spool 😂
Lol
Crazy to hear walleye on top water. Top water is on fire in N Minnesota right now.
That fish you caught was indeed a warmouth bass, I catch them periodically at the lake near me. Google says they are good eating like bluegill.
They are thick! I would assume they are pretty good
I know I’m super late to this but just got done with a trip in Wisconsin and I did in fact catch a walleye on a top water. It can be done lol
Haha nice
Do you use braided line for all your lures?

Yeah especially for kayaks I could see that being beneficial. I’d have to learn the FG WELL to make that switch
i caught a 28 inch walleye on a top water
Wild!
What do you like more the Mach poppin frog or the poppin perch
For open water fishing: Poppin Perch.
For skipping/overhangs/roll casts to targets: Mach Poppin Frog
I caught a walleye this past weekend on a whopper plopper but i wasnt reeling it in was fixing my backlash started reeling and he was on that count ?
Haven’t had luck so far this year on top water
When the whole sections of pond are overgrown by pads, would the preferred place to cast be along the line of the pads, or still deep into the cover?
Both. Gotta try it all to see where they are sitting at that day
lol is it possible to football jig on that water? I’d sure like to try
Out on the points, yes. Up shallow no
@@TylersReelFishing nice I’m from Ga but I’ll definitely try it when I come down I’m stuck on jig fishing rn

What about early morning fishing? When is the earliest in the day you would go fishing?
Sunrise. Well, before sunrise I guess
Any interest in the fish lab frog??
Their hollow frog looks normal, soft plastic frog looks unique
I’m right handed but I retrieve lefty mainly because I learned on a spinning rod and real so I bought a left hand retrieve baitcaster

both frog reels are the same price today folks

That "bluegill" was a Green Sunfish:)
My friend caught a walleye on topwater. I don’t remember what bait all I know is it was topwater lol
Crazy
I have heard them called either warmouth or rock bass
Yeah I think that’s what it was
thanks God bless
On your top water video a few days ago you recommended the Mach 2, but this one you recommended Mach jacked combo … I am planning to get one reel for top water. Which of the 2 would you recommend?
Either one! Jacked is a better quality combo, but the 2 is great too
What does it take to fish with the Tyler man himself?
Have a private lake with 10 pounders
@@TylersReelFishing I live next to a lake with a 7 pounder, looks like I failed to make the cut 😭
How the heck do you guys cast those hollow body frogs on heavy rods with heavy braid?
They are usually 1/2 oz you can cast them a mile when you get your reel dialed in
They're flipping them within 20 feet which is pretty easy
Learn to load the rod. I can whip a frog 50 yards on a H rod and 50lb braid
