    How are they holding up? Just getting started on my garage build and thinking about lighting.

    Nice job....I use 5 , 200 watt lights in a 9m wide x 15m L x 6m H workshop in Australia.
    They definitely are awesome at lighting the place up.

    I have a 30 x 50 metal shop and I put 8 of the Hyperlite 100 watt lights in 4 on each side. I did put the difusers on as they are bright to look at.

    • @marktolman6037
      @marktolman6037  Год назад

      Would you think the diffusers are worth the money? I have been considering purchasing

    • @marktolman6037
      @marktolman6037  Год назад +1

      Not sure...I just never bothered spending the extra money. I used 2 circuits instead.

    Great video, Mark. Very informative. You say they are very bright now, but wait until you get my age they won’t be bright enough lol. I done the same as you and upgraded to LED’s a while back and thought the same thing, man these are too bright now that I’m older and my eight sight is worse they don’t seem too bright. My son got those lights like yours and he is very satisfied with them.

      Thanks! These lights definitely made a big improvement in this space. I'm sure someday when I'm older I will be upgrading again, but for now it's awesome!

    6-Lights for that size building. Lights can’t be that bright. Just my opinion.

    • @marktolman6037
      @marktolman6037  21 час назад +1

      I usually only use the 3 on one branch...if I need a lot of light or have a big vehicle in the shop, I'll use all 6.

      Reach out to Hylerlite and give them the dimension of the building and ceiling height. They give you a free mapout and recommend the type and amount of lights. Free to do this.

    LEDs don't have inrush current like you said. A/C motors can depending on the type. You can always put a meter on the hot wire to measure current draw.

      Interesting...good to know. I'll have to experiment with that

      Basically the wiring pigtail has to be controlled by the dimmer, the purple and grey wires. You can't run a traditional dimmer switch to power the light, according to this article.

  • @truebengalsfan

    Can you link those through the power cord ?

    • @marktolman6037
      @marktolman6037  7 месяцев назад

      You can only run 1 light through the attached power cord. I ran outlets in the ceiling for each light.

    Noticed your hanging hook and safety hook are in the same board... Would it make sense to put the hook for the safety hook into a different board.
