    The camera has auto exposure and auto white balance so that’s why the viewer won’t see what you see.

    Oh man I'm going to put some in my garage. I'm getting old and was a mechanic for 37 years old eye sight isn't as good as it use to be. Great video's I'd love to have that garage. Mine is 25x30 I build myself 34 years ago. Stick build pored the concrete slab and everything. I'm all most 70 so I'd like to have one with high ceilings so I can install a lift. Keep up the good work and the videos coming.👍

    What would be cool of one of them is to put it on a rope pulley so you can lower it down over a car. Have a cleat attached to side wall.

      they're way too bright. It's not like a twin 58w fluro that needs to be 7foot of the ground to have any decent impact. In fact it is in the name Highbay that they are designed to be used high. In fact the higher they are the more spread out the light becomes.

      As an electrician I've installed these at different heights! When they are too low the light gets in your periffle vision and it's not good! These are much better for high ceilings! I love them when installed that way! Can't beat the price! I have bought some of these from a different company that had a hidden switch were you could set them at 100, 150 or 200 watts!

    Actually both 4000K and 5000K are nearer the 'warm' side of lighting to get to hospital or daylight levels you need to be above 6500K. In a shop and as your eyes age the difference between 5000K and 6500+ is pretty striking when doing detail work. I installed my shop with 7000K and have never regretted that decision. I would never go for a lesser K value in a work environment. I used the four foot daisy chained 'florescent' style and put enough in to avoid any shadows. Even with them I add more on each machine. You just can't get enough light when machining or wrenching.

      That’s good info. I couldn’t imagine 7k. The 5k does put out pretty working light but I prefer the ambience of the warmer light really lol. Thanks for watching

      In the lighting world, the 5000k is considered daylight, 4k is cool white, and 3k is warm white. 6 and 7k are considered blue light. A bright sunny day is roughly 5700k.

    Thanks a lot for taking the time and effort to make this video! I am having a hard time finding videos where people are using these high bay LED lights with the optional diffusers / reflectors. I guess not many people must know yet they could be a nice addition to reduce spotlight glare and spread the light out more evenly. Perhaps you would want to try some and see the difference and shoot a video (perhaps others would like to see as well)... I ordered some high bay lights and diffusers for my shop but they have not arrived yet, was just looking for some videos showing lights with diffusers.

    I would never mix warm/white lights together. Their CRI is low, 80, and that would be fine for a shop light but not fine if your're lighting for video. (Retired pro photographer/videographer) You could go with good video lights close up for your video and let the shop lights do what their going to do.

  • @JackoTJK

    Wouldn't you want to put in your additional truss members before placing the lights? They'll be lower, I think, and possibly a better location for lighting. Also, I do read manuals. The last thing I want to happen is that someone comes by two years later and says, "did you know these lights have this function if you push this little button?" etc. Enjoying your videos. Since I just found them I'm able to bing watch the whole series.

Im on the fence honestly between building a whole separate building or converting it into a shop. 6-8ft of it is blocks on footers. Just need to do beams to remove the lofts then id have probably 16-18ft or more at the peak. Of course then pour the middle with concrete

    Question - How many amps on your circuits did you have to wire up for the lights?
    I am building my own 30x45 foot shop. After watching your video, I contacted Hyperlight and I bought one 150 Watt LED High bay light (Hero series) to examine up close before buying the remaining lights. I measured the current this light uses as 12 Amps. If I use 8 of these I think my amperage will be over budget. For your installation, did you have to put in a hefty circuit to supply all your lights?

    • @ProjectDadLife
      @ProjectDadLife  2 года назад

      Hey Bob per spec my lights only draw about 1.3 amps each. I have 6 running on one 15 amp circuit no issues at all.
