- Soldiers from the First Battalion, Royal Gurkha Rifles endured the heat to train in sweltering temperatures of 38°C in the Australian outback.
Alongside personnel from the Australian Army and US Marines, they took on the harsh conditions for Exercise Pacific Khukri 2023, training as multinational companies on the vast Mount Bundey training area near Darwin.
The five-week exercise also involved the troops practising fighting street by street and building by building through an urban complex, supported by Australian combat engineers to blow entry into buildings and dismantle boobytraps.

Gurkas best in the world 🇬🇧🇳🇵🇬🇧
Yet they are not well compensated after their useful fighting life. They are spent, used like rags. Shame to all who engage their services.

None of your business!
They had enrolled in British army during British occupation of India and had fired on unarmed peaceful civilian crowd and killed many people in jallianwala in Punjab
No community is super special or super brave it is the conditions and training which make them so
You guys are soo awesome. Great to see the Gurkha regiments getting well-rounded training here. Australia can be a really challenging environment when not prepared and this will be great for forwarding everyone’s skills during this training operation, and it looks like that is indeed happening here.😲👌🏼 Best of strength to you chaps. We are soo lucky to have you with us.👋🏼
They risk their lives everyday to make sure our country are safe and protected and I am grateful for their service
I was with the Gurkhas at Perham a few weeks ago and they are the nicest people you could meet.
We are so very Lucky and Honored you fight with the British Army. God Bless you all.🇬🇧❤️🇳🇵
Man it’s only winter here in Australia, the temperature gonna be a lot higher in summer
It doesn't vary much in Darwin other than hot then hot and wet.
@@goodshipkaraboudjan never been to Darwin before, but I trust your judgement
Elite unit. Probably get deployed in Niger?
Wish we could recruit some for the ADF
Literally. At least we’ve got them as allies, though. The Nepali government officially only authorises the recruitment of Nepalis to two foreign militaries: India and the UK. The latter has had a treaty with Nepal for over 2 centuries recruiting Gurkhas. The top 300 out of an average 30,000 make it into the British army, and a few thousand of the remaining stragglers get recruited by India. Only the nation’s best make it into the Royal Gurkha Rifles in the British army.
@@dWFnZWVr You're lucky
Our Nepali brave Gurkha ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I taught a weapons and tactics class to Gurkhas, a long time ago. Outstanding, disciplined and attentive troops!
Much respect to the Gurkhas and their incredible fighting history 👍
38deg C (100deg F) isn't hot in Australia though. It's WINTER here in June, July, August ! In summer, Outback temperatures are over 50deg C (122deg F) !
38 deg C is 7:45am in Saudia.
I'm pro military, but everybody needs to fight global warming also, before additional areas become uninhabitable and mass migrations cause big big problems.
Those little fellas are fearsome warriors. They seem to endure anything and keep going.
Three constant enemies in Australia:
1. Weather
2. Wildlife
3. Wilderness
It's actually fairly cold down under right now. Come back in summer when it hits 45.
35°c is not cold!
@@Fighting_Fatigue_117 lol I wish. It gets down to 7°c in winter here.
The Brigade of Gurkhas has a long and distinguished history.
Lucky for them that they didn't come in summer.
As a true Aussie, I can confirm they did use kangaroos to ride to and from their shooting ranges.
These lads are used to it! Its like that every day, in the Terai
38 degrees? Chose the cold season did they?
Professionals!
Das ist hart! 👍 😮 Wie schwer ist das Gepäck mit kompletter Ausrüstung und wie lange dauerte das Ganze?
My honest reaction to giving the best units in the world Enfield rifles: 😐
Harsh ? It’s winter down there ..
Which rifle are they using?
SA80 L85a3
the government knows something that we don’t.
Don't rate them. Mindless robots without their English commanders. Pretty second rate soldiers just full of hype.
Is this for wen we go to Africa 😉
I pity this top of the line fighters because they are not justly compensated by the Nation or organization they are fighting for unlike the US Navy.
They got better rights than years ago..they allowed a pension and able to live in the UK
I wamt an L96a1
I didn't catch one of those in the clip, or do you mean L85A2? Sorta similar names, but the L96A1 is a bolt action rifle.
The standard issue Aussie weapon is the EF88 Austeyr bullpup.
The Gurkhas are using their own standard issued L85A2 bullpup.
@@MediocreAverage yup that's what I meant all right .. lol but also I'd like to have the green meany while I'm wishing .. lol
@@hindsight2022 me too! Shame they never made the L85 commerically
@@MediocreAverage I know Europe gets lots of fun stuff we do t get in America . I've wanted a WA2000 for 20 years .
This is basically just a Gurkha channel. If it's not generic military news you only seem to show the Gurkhas, the British Army has many more Regiments to show off.
Why wouldn’t they show the best regular regiment in the British army more than others?
Gurkhas are best in the world especially for jungle
