@savoiesuzuki Its to help prevent objects from getting wedged between the brake lever and frame. They are especially useful when riding in the desert races when sage brush and other stout weeds could get stuck and affect braking ablilty. Get a branch from a sage brush wedged in there and you'd be lucky to stay on 2 wheels:) But in SX & MX, my guess its to keep out the tuffblock covers and things like that. But there may be other purposes for it that I'm not aware of....
@woodpecka39 he was refering to a touchy back break. i like them but people dont cuz they lock easy. im sure the only people actualy riding his primary race bike is him and his mechanic, magazenes get test bikes and practice bikes. or the previous sx or mx model. same with the display bikes that you get to sit on. well 99% of the time because money is a factor
@TheHondamxer143 Half the parts on that bike are factory team stuff, That engine will be completely tricked out by amazing mech's.. Porting, piston, valves, Crank, Clutch ... Everything will be changed... And the bolts and nuts will be all titanium, Suspension is factory only and not public... A factory bike like this would run you 150-200K ... These ARE the best bikes in the world...

I wonder if all their bikes feel like a Ford escort compared to a Ferrari after they retire and no longer have the WORCS bike, mechanic, and all that. How do they enjoy riding after being pampered like this?
...they actually do get to keep (or buy!) many of the trick parts from their works (factory) bikes. Much of the newer videos show ex-factory racers like Villopoto, Windham, McGrath, etc. taking the works parts and putting them on tricked out 2 stroke bikes!! That'll work, 2 strokes forever! ....and those Alta MXRs are looking like a pretty badass alternative when you wanna be stealthy and/or not piss off the neighborhood (with engine sound!) : )'
Akadize is not a misspeak/misspell, it's a Hinson proprietary treatment for aluminum/magnesium alloys that makes the metal much tougher and if done correctly it also has a much more 'clutch plate friendly' feel to it....it works. Not to be confused with anodizing, or baked Cerakote, similar but definitely not the same. (We used to use low pressure ultra fine glass beading of the metal clutch plates to create better clutch feel/actuation but it made lifespan of the clutch a one race and replace deal!!)
