Rear wheel speed sensor to allow for traction control programming and usage. Or just wheel speed in general to track how fast they are going on certain areas of the track.
That bike probably has traction control! See the rear wheel speed sensor, thats enough when combined with a map or the throttle position senor, and of course the other way is with radio transmission from he PCM.

How good is it , that the ama has some rules to keep the sport competetive for manufacturers and there athlete's. Motocross the sport in America is great to follow as a result of it.

These machines are usually around $40k-$70k give or take a few, and they have anywhere from 6-15+ fully assembled race engines to change out every race. My Coach also said that works bikes aren't VASTLY different than the high end builds that normal everyday riders can have access to...it's mainly works suspension, ecu, and transmission that makes the biggest jump from what us consumers purchase...but what do I know??? I'm just an old warn down vet rider that doesn't race. I'm just going off of what I've been told cause I wanted my own little "works"-like offroad motorbike to try and progression my riding, and my TM Racing EN300ES 2t is close as I'll ever get. Really cool parts on Honda HRC Factory bikes nonetheless - they are always capable of unleashing the most artistic bikes and parts! I really look forward to looking at their one piece billet foot-pegs every time I see another one of their factory bike pics and/or videos - those beauties are the trickiest trick part on the whole damn bike! 😍

It's still all Hinson...the whole clutch assembly are billet Hinson components, and the engine's clutch encompassing bottom end parts are all Honda HRC Works parts that are not available to the public, nor will we ever even get a description of what and how these parts are made - moto-groms like us couldn't use that bike to it's full potential anyways!!! 😄 🤣

I didn't think wheel speed sensors were legal in AMA pro racing, due to traction control system restrictions.
As long as it's for data acquisition only its allowed. All the factory teams are running these sensors 250s and 450s.
