@@HeyChannelDani Thanks! It was an unforgettable trip, lucked out with weather, it was in the 70's all week! Already planning on going back in the near future 😊
Walking and bus the first day and then renting a car. Renting a car when we went was nearly impossible, and a bit pricey, so that's why we walked the first day.
@@HeyChannelDani What are the places you walked to? I only have one day to visit Anchorage, so I don’t think we’ll be able to rent a car. Can you walk to the park where you can see the airplanes taking off?
@@isamariemonreal7692 Anchorage is not the most walkable, honestly downtown “tourist” area is the most walkable. Plenty of food options here though! You can do the trolley too, which is great! You can make it to the salmon creek too and watch the fisherman and the huge salmon. but that’s all I can say from my experience. And no, you won’t be able to see the planes take off without a car, it’s pretty isolated from the rest of it. I hope this helps! 🙂
@isamariemonreal7692 the bluff plane watch spot is eight miles from downtown. There's the Knowles bike bath to get there. There's a lake next to arpt park spot w/ float plane Cessnas in summer. Bus system called people mover from 6am to 1030pm only.
I arrived here Today May 4,2024 and I went to several of you Top 10 places. I definitely what you Recommended especially White Spot Cafe those Burgers are awesome. I’m posting on my Facebook page and I’ll tag you in it.
How awesome, I'm so happy to hear that!! ☺ I'm glad you enjoyed the White Spot Cafe too, they do have delicious food! Thank you so much Dan, I really appreciate that! Enjoy the rest of your Alaska trip! 😃
Hey My Friend I just got home from my Trip in Alaska. Thank you for your video I was able to go to just about every one of those places. At Kincad park I was actually able to see a Moose. I hiked all the way up Flat Top Mountain. Earthquake park was just crazy that a whole neighborhood is buried there. At Potters Marsh I was able to video an Eagle in Flight. I did get some Samovar Tea at Kobuk and yes it was soooo good and got a Fireweed Donut. And Definitely got a Burger at Whitespot cafe. I let them know I found their place from your video. Once again Thank you for your video it made my trip fun finding these places and making a memory.
@@danstrickland4463 Hi my friend! What a wonderful comment! I so enjoyed reading your it, I think it's my new favorite comment! You made my day! ☺️ It also brought back all my memories of Alaska as you named each spot! So cool you saw a moose! And an Eagle in flight too?! Yay! Mmm, that Samovar tea was so delicious! Thank you for telling the Whitespot cafe about my video, how awesome! Thank you again for your comment, Dan, I'm beyond pleased to hear your trip went so well and you made great Alaskan memories!
Bring your rain gear because MOST DAYS it RAINS everyday. It rains from mid May, when it stops snowing, to mid Oct when it starts snowing again. 2nd, buy Counter Assault Bear Spray (REI). Counter Assault sprays the furthest and the strongest bursts. There are grizzlies within the city limit as well as thousands of black bears. I have encountered grizzlies on Campbell Airstrip Trail, all over the area of the Chugach range, Bicentennial Park Far North (brown and black bears, especially near Campbell Creek) and a lot of black bears and Moose on Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. Looks like you had a nice trip!
There should be Alaska Visitors center on the Seward Highway. 100 times bigger and has fishing reports and more. So much is hidden and have relay on locals to find.
An excellent, well-narrated travel vlog, Dani! Definitely on my bucket list, and you deserve 1x million more views! I cannot wait for another Branson, Missouri Vlog 💗💗💗!
Thanks Michael! You're so kind! I hope you get the opportunity to travel to Alaska one day, it's very cool! I'll keep Branson on my list of videos-to-make 😁
AK is so beautiful, it has such good views, great parks and some of the best and nicest neighborhoods and neighbors everyone’s house layer is so huge ngl it’s kinda weird. I was born in alaska AK and I’ve barley ever seen snow bc I moved when I was 3, and I’m in airzona rn but on Wednesday next week, IM COMING BACK TO MY HOMELAND
Should I visited Girdwood and went to the top of the mountain from the worlds, longest continuous running tram. Beautiful views up there and then some.
I'm going to post this comment before the video even starts. If eating breakfast at Gwennies isn't on this list, you are wrong. I lived in Alaska for 21 years. It's a MUST!
In my research I did not hear of Gwennies, but you make it sound like a must-try place! Thanks for commenting, hopefully it’ll help others planning their Alaskan Itinerary! 🙂
Packing is a hard decision! Layers layers layers is what I've heard is best and so that's what we packed and it worked well. We wore jackets in August. Also, if you "forget" jackets, it's always a good reason to buy some "souvenir" jackets/hat/gloves/other warm items! I wish you safe and fun travels!!!!
I want to return to Anchorage. I enjoyed the visit very much. So thank you for this current video of what to do in Anchorage. (Also, what about the Reindeer dogs?)
I didn't get to try reindeer dogs 😕 But I know another vlogger who used to live in Alaska tried them and loved them (his channel is called LiveEachDay but it used to be DudeLikeHella when he was in Alaska. He shows off Alaska really well and talks about Reindeer dogs (even had them catered at his wedding i think lol)). Hope this helps! •nd yes, Anchorage/Alaska is a very amazing place to visit! Thanks for commenting as well John! 😁
I really loved Alaska! It was a whole new world basically. The outdoors and nature determines everything about how people live there, rather than people living an determining the road systems and stuff. I’d highly recommend going if you get the opportunity, you won’t be disappointed! But… don’t expect to always see tons of wildlife, I only saw a few elk while there, oh and salmon!
You hit most of the cliche tourist stops...but Anchorage...'Los Anchorage' to locals, is actually a run-down meth den in many places. Soaking the tourists for every last cent is their main industry. Locals living in other parts if the state avoid it if at all possible.
I'd say youre right about Anchorage being the "tourist-y" location but aren't you glad it is though! That's the beauty of Alaska is that most of it is untouched wilderness. Plus is someone is a tourist without knowledge about the "strength of Alaska" it can be dangerous in those wild parts of nature. Thanks for you comment!
Good video but the best thing to do in Anchorage is get out of Anchorage and go pretty much anywhere else in Alaska. Anchorage has the highest crime rate in the state and the people there are most likely to be anti-gun types.
A tip for 1st time visitors. To help stop money laundering there are no Bureau de Change facilities anywhere in AK. Either take enough cash for your visit or find a friend with a local bank account, otherwise you cannot exchange currencies.
Just come and visit, I did and stayed for 32 years.
Very nice video production!
Thanks Paul! Anchorage is pretty cool! Literally cool too! Ha!
