I live in Arizona but visit Springfiled many times - were have friends that live nearby and our grandson goes to college there @ Drury U. The downtown area is very vibrant with many restaurants and shops. I'm not good with names, but there's a burger place right on the main drag that is awesome. We usually stay at a very nice VRBO house a block or so from Drury U. The area a couple blocks north of the school looks to be undergoing an urban renewal. Old buildings being renovated and new apartments, shops, coffee houses, cafes & restaurants opening up. We would walk up there every morning to a very nice coffee shop with homemade baked goods. Of course there are areas of the city that aren't so nice, and yes, there is crime (where isn't there?) , but I've never had a problem when visiting. If I was to move from Arizona, Springfield would definitely be one of the top places on my list.

Arkansas is in the South, not the Midwest.

Get that passport dusted off and check out South America,way cheaper and has amazing history and variety,just add fuel stabilizer and disconnect the battery,way better value then USA,there's Amazon jungle retreats,$250 flights to see Nazca lines,Patagonia,coffee triangle in Colombia, Uruguay has square miles of antiques and old colonial European buildings, Patagonia,Beaches,mountains,jungles,just need basic Spanish and basic street smarts

Now that's the way to spend a 3 day weekend 👏

Moved to Tyler from Houston in 2021. From where I lived in Houston, it was an hour to an hour and a half to my doctors office, here in Tyler, 20 minutes. Here we have storms, true, but they blow thru quickly. In Houston, bad weather hangs over you for 3 or 4 days without even a brief break. Talk about flooding...Houston humidity is 10 times worse than Tyler. There is plenty of quality entertainment, both in Tyler, and the surrounding towns. Shreveport casinos are only a 2 hour drive away. In Marshall, Tx., there is an excellent entertainment venue (just an hour and a half drive). I lived in Houston all my life and compared with "big city" living, I'll take Tyler any day.

I would have mentioned it being "dry" my personal deal breaker for living in Tyler.

I still don't get it

Only Albert Loop was closed, all the other trails were open. Albert Loop is a seasonal closure when the salmon run since that trail follows the river and the bears fish there so they close it to give them their space 🤎🐻

Arkansas is low key one of the prettiest states I've been to,nice mix of mountains,rolling hills north and West,East might as well be Mississippi/Bama but still funky in a please don't break down here kind of way
