Great review as always Lisa. The improving HP keyboards give me hope for the future of our civilization. And I have to say this one looks really beautiful aesthetically speaking. It's the most subdued HP I've seen in a while.
Thinkpad users have never needed dongles. I love that I can plug in two monitors (hdmi slot and USB c slot) while charging (second USB c slot), and have keyboard and mouse connected (USB slots).

Hello MobileTechReview team. Thank you for this review. I am about to buy the Dragonfly G2. Do you know if the optional HP Sure View screen that come with the G2 is the same "latest generation" screen that come with your Dragonfly Max test unit ? Thank you.
Thanks for the review. What you didnt mention is the superb webcam, best laptop webcam on the market I would claim. And it's a shame they dont offer that one with the Gen 2. Also stupid that they dont offer non-privacy screens for this one..
Thinkpad has AMD lines, but granted, most business lines ship Intel, perhaps it has to do with the Thunderbolt connection that still is exclusive to Intel?
Because of anti-competetive behavior from Intel. They have the power to put in conditions when dealing with laptop manufacturers that they only can sell intel versions.
@@danielsunday2958 Have you taken a look at the new Dell Inspirons? They look pretty sleek and are probably the closest thing to having Ryzen in XPS that we're going to get.
Great review Lisa. I had to return 3 HP laptops and 1 Dell for poor quality in zoom and ms teams- Elite books and Spectre - guess all of them had 2-megapixel cameras. I hope the dragon fly max will resolve this issue, though it is not available in India. It also looks like the Spectre 16 inch has a 5 Mega pixel camera. Do you have a review on that laptop?
Rumor has it that next Macbook Pro would bring back legacy ports including full sized SD card slot, let's hope that'll come true, and OEMs would follow afterwards.
I don’t know if HP has come up with something better, but in the past the Sureview display absolutely killed the viewing angles. It makes the laptop utterly useless unless you are looking at the display dead on. You can’t watch videos while walking around the room, rest it on a table and take notes, etc. I can’t stress this enough, you can’t see ANYTHING unless you are right in front of the display. I have a five year old Thinkpad with a 720p TN panel, and it looks better in every way compared to Elitebook I got last year. Definitely try before you buy, or at least make sure you have the ability to return the laptop.
Which gen do you have? I have an elitebook x350 1030 g3 with sure view (gen 2 i think, but not sure) and if sure view is disabled its just a great display, without downsides.
They are exactly that, a glorified TN. I returned my HP with Sure View and got the 4K 500nit display instead, SO much better. Also HP offers every screen configuration in either glossy or matte, AVOID THE MATTE their coating somehow looks very bad making images look dull and grainy. If you're buying an HP, go with a regular glossy screen and all should be well.
@@mini9503 well, i tried the sure view, and the 500nits matte and glossy. Ended up with the sure view, i feel so much more comfortable working e.g. on trains. I'd never buy a laptop without a matter screen ever, is soo much easier to work in bright sunlight. But definitely try them out yourself, you might have other preferences.
I wouldn't consider a 2-in-1 laptop without a 3:2 screen, because 16:9 is honestly impossible to use as a tablet. Lenovo Titanium has 3:2 and the HP Dragonfly has 16:9 FHD. But if I had the money for those two, I would instead choose either HP Spectre 14 or Acer Spin 5, because they come with 3:2 QHD screens, and provide better value for the money.
If I were to go the iPhone route next year I'm either buying the 11 or 11 pro or 12 or 12 pro. Now if I went the android route I'm either buying the S10 or S10+ or S20 or S21 or Note 10 or Note 10+ or Note 20. As next year I'm upgrading from my iPhone se 2020
Which is better, X360 Spectre or this one, for using Microsoft Office 365 and for potentially running programs such as Wireshark, Meterpreter, Metasploit, Kali Linux, Python, Microsoft Visual Studio and etc for IT stuff? I am not a gamer so no need for that.
I say this is better than the x360 as both are similar in specs but this has great looks Edit: or you could get a g15 Edit2: if you need the laptop to be convertible then get an hp envy which is cheaper but has similar specs to the spectre and dragonfly but has a mediocre display
It's a shame.... Even if it's great, in my experience HP have always made crap laptops, low build quality, buggy hardware etc... Great review as always. Would never buy an HP though
Agree... Every time I'm in the market for a laptop, I find HP is ALWAYS the one that is making the "perfect" laptop in terms of checking all the boxes I am looking for. Only problem is every one I've bought has been a disaster. I really wish they would just get it together with the quality control already.
I have Hp Elitebook x360. It easily gets hot. Looking at other reviews and comments, I find the same complain for Hp Spectre and Envy lines. We can't really put it on our lap.
