For my M50, we replaced the following components: C27, C93, R19, WD3, WD4. It cost about $30 which was mostly in shipping costs. I made this a student a project for middle school. Using a multimeter, we tested components and found the unstable ones, ordered the replacement components from China, unsoldered and removed the bad components, then replaced them with the new components. I now have a nicely functioning M50 in my living room :)
He changed the protection diodes connected to the pedals' connection jacks. I didn't understand. The capacitors you mentioned are exactly the ones connected to the "mute" circuit.
@@TiagoValentexwhat is the mute circuit? I’m having a very similar problem. I get no sound out of the line outs. I get about half sound out of the headphone jack
I had the same problem. However, the real problem was C93 in the mute circuit. This deteriorated and increased leakage current, causing a constant halfway mute state. This seemed to be causing distortion, which was fixed by simply replacing C93. I find it strange that he fixed it by replacing a diode in a part of the circuit that is not an output circuit.
I have the same problem. I m not very tech but i know just a little. I got everything apart and measured the all A7 and seems to work fine. Don’t know what to search else. Please give me an advice… All the best!
Realizei a troca dos componentes A7 nas não resolveu o problema de falta de sinal saída áudio R e L Master do teclado é saída do fone continua som baixo. Poderia informar quais mais componentes vc trocou na placa de áudio do Korg-M50 73
I don’t think that’s a good ideea because they have different characteristics. I m trying to fix my m50 also that have the same problem and beside that is restarting also after a short time…I ordered some A7, A4, C132 smd capacitor from Korg parts and maybe this will fix the issue. Maybe an update also….
Similar problem here... For around 1 minute after I turn on my M50 the sound is distorced, but It goes slowly improving and then sounds normal (most of times 😊). I'm in Brazil
As far as i can tell, this fix is not how you fix this problem. Just replace the C27 and C93 capacitors and it'll be fixed. Here's a quick video of my fix. ruclips.net/user/shorts8-iuL_S1IXU

Hello mark i havé thé same problèm in the korg Kronos
Do you have an idea?
How can i contact you
I had the same issue.
I changed 2 capacitors: C27 (220uF) and C93 (22uF) for regular electrolic capacitors (not SMD).
Solved!

@@vanroboli Yes, my problem was in the mute circuit. It was unstable.

mark, you said A4 but the tranststor has a7 on it ,also where can i get them thanks ron
Got the same issue, where did you get the replacement?
Hi Mark. Which components have you replaced? Thanks
Hi the A4 TRANSISTORS
Thanks for the reply! ;)
@@markanthonycontreras9114 why the A4s? Those aren't transistors and aren't even in the output circuit. Those are double diodes, as I understand it.
On the board the smd is A7! Is it correct then to replace it with an A4? I have the same problem that you describe! thank you so much
