Just to let you know there is actually a movie referencing the story with Ash in a movie called Into The Woods, if you’d like to see a sort of a picture for the story then I suggest you watch it!!! (there is not really a picture, but like adding a visual picture to think of while listening to the story) is also more original story’s in the movie, it’s like a bunch of Disney movies but their original stories in one movie mash that links together in the end :) btw love ur videos Syd!!!

The stepsisters and stepmother in the movie were being mean to Cinderella but my favorite part is when the mice made a beautiful dress for Cinderella to let her go to the ball.

There are Turkish versions of Cinderella too, and they are a bit wild, especially the endings 😂There are two main versions, one is "Külkedisi" (basically same as the Disney version, told as a European fairy tale) and the other is "Küllü Fatma" (Kül=Ash, Fatma=Turkish girl name). "Küllü Fatma" has different versions too, I'll summarize one of them. It's a long story but I'll try to keep it short.
Küllü Fatma lives with her two sisters and her mother, they're her birth family in this version. The mother inhereted some wealth from her late husband (the girls' father), but doesn't want her daughters to spend it lavishly. Fatma's two "evil sisters" doesn't like that idea, so they plan to kill their mother and inherit the wealth from her. They make a plan to send her away to get water from somewhere since their well has dried. At least the mother thinks she'll bring water, but actually they send her to her death. Fatma tries to stop her mother but she doesn't listen to her. But, she realizes she might not come back, so she hides the bulk of their wealth to the bottom of their well, and tells Fatma to there if she doesn't come back in a week.
A week passes, and the two sisters, thinking they got rid of their mother and got all the wealth, want to go to the Padishah's son's wedding. Fatma, grieving her mother, refuses to go with them. After they went, she remembers what her mother told her and looks at the bottom of the well. There the girl finds plenty of jewelry and clothes, and a pair of golden shoes. Wearing these, she goes to the prince's wedding, and meets the Sultan's youngest son. Like most Cinderellas, she runs away at the end of the night, but she slips by a pool and her golden shoe falls into the water. Prince finds this shoe and starts looking for its owner, you know that part. He finds Küllü Fatma and marries her. But this version doesn't end here.
One day, her siblings offer Fatma to go to a bath house together. There they cast a spell on her and turn her into a bird. One of the sisters replaces Fatma and "lies in the prince's bed". (The guy is incredible, first can't recognize the girl he loves without her shoe, and now doesn't realize a whole different woman replaced her.) Some time passes, and one day the gardener of the palace notices the bird and informs the prince. The bird speaks loudly and tells what happened. The sisters are punished, and Fatma gets to remarry the prince. Happily ever after...
