Awesome freight trains 🚆 video 📹, great captures especially when recording near tracks get the full effect of power 🔋 and noise, beautiful scenery as well, really enjoyed this video 📹 very cool 😎
Another great video Dave, and that westbound Z train he was rolling but anyway, my friend you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one
What a beautiful backdrop! Mountains are so beautiful and provide spectacular views. I got to visit them when I lived in NY, but in FL, the closest thing to a mountain is the anthill in the backyard😂. Great video, Dave! Stay well roll on my friend
Thank you Mark! This is basically in my backyard. The last stack train is rounding the curve that takes it out of town. Those mountains in the background are the Cabinet mountains. I couldn't live without my mountains! Thanks for watching my friend!
Very nice catches as usual! The more I watch these vids the more I want to take a trip out west just to get these high speed freights on BNSF. NS could learn a thing or two. Can’t be scared to burn fuel if you’re a railroad who wants to compete with trucks especially!
Thank you anscrailfanner6812! Wonder why NS can't run fast. BNSF uses all the fuel optimizer bs and with the exception of the Z trains, usually the minimum amount of locomotives are on line, but still, if the track speed is 60 and the train is capable, they let them roll, except for unit oil, they are limited to 45mph. Thanks for watching my friend!
I’m down here at the Columbia river for RV travel at Rufus Oregon and I get BNSF on one side and Union Pacific on the other of the river, but you have the best views.
Thank you Charles, the Columbia River Gorge has some pretty fantastic scenery too, plus two railroads to boot. You should see a lot of railroad action there! Thanks for watching my friend!
The symbols are part of the system the railroads use to designate what kind of train it is (ie unit grain, oil, stack train) what kind of commodity it carries, where it originated and it's destination. If you go to this site, www.qstation.org/bnsf/BNSF_Train_Symbols.pdf it will give you a better explanation than I can. The short answer is a Z train is a high priority intermodal train that, along with the domestic containers, it also has UPS, FedEx, and LTL piggyback trailers in it's consist. An S train is all international containers. In this video, the first stack train is a Z and the second one is an S. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching my friend.
Nice catches Dave
