I read the Heroes first so I was expecting Ninefingers to be a total monster. Spent all of The Blade Itself thinking ‘what a goofy teddy bear :)’ and then this chapter came up. Phenomenal writing. Logen and his dark passenger, the Bloody Nine, are some of my favorite characters from recent fantasy works.
More accessible then you might think. I was so invested in Gorst, Calder, Finree, and Craw that I was actually slightly disappointed how little they appeared in the trilogy. The writing was excellent and got my interested in reading more. Honestly I’d picked the book up because it was a book about one enormous 3-Day battle, which sounded fresh as opposed to the epic journey narratives I was a little burnt out on at the time. I worked through the books in order after that. And honestly I think of the independent three it’s easiest to read. (Red Country is my favorite at this point, outside of Before They Are Hanged, which is my favorite overall.) I read the Heroes in a single weekend. Unable to set it down for the need to learn what happens next. It’s sardonic, yet passionate tone really drew me in. Not to repeat myself but, in essence, I just had to read more.
Heroes will always have a special place in my heart but I honestly get it if you rank it lowest. Best Served Cold and Red Country take us to new places and introduce an array of really great characters. Heroes was a good action story that utilized old characters well but I can’t think of moments on equal footing to the big stuff in the other two.
Steven Pacey is a damn legend. When he stops reading The First Law books, I will probably just get them in print. If Joe were a god, Steven would probably be his prophet.
Please upload all the rest of the bloody nine moments. I suppose it's a tall order, you have to be realistic about these things... But better to do it than live with fear of it...
One of my favourite scenes, I thought for a time that Logen was an imposter, that his reputation was all big talk. Then this scene happened WOW! I believe there's something supernatural going on with Logen, maybe he's possessed by a Mad Demon or some gift from Bedesh
***Spoilers*** In Red country the Bloody Nine was creeping below the surface at certain parts but never fully came out. During the fight with Golden, when Golden had given Logen everything he had and he was still standing. Golden then demands to know who he really is, Logen opens his hand showing the missing finger. Still gives me chills to this day.
This image must be from the Heroes. Large stones on a hill. Joe Abercrombie wrote a whole book about that three day battle and the Bloody Nine was only in it by honorable mention. I did think sadly during that book, that the world was a lesser place with out him, since they referred to him posthumously. I mean who could survive falling from a castle window into a creek. But "say one thing for Logan Nine Fingers - say that he was lucky!"
The painting is from the book "The Heros." Black Dow, Caul Shivers, Bremer dan Gorst....even the guy from the Molly Hatchet "Flirtin' with Disaster" album cover
@@real_calm_ish I think Furious (Colonel West) is a fantastic character, not to mention Glokta. Joe Abercrombie is a wonderful writer. Love these scenes.
Stupid bloody pinks to me girls joking in farro voice....tell her stop acting the ferro when bit cheeky. Great character. When they underground going face flathead brilliant
Stone splitter was low-key a beast
Hell yeah, he was. He survived this encounter, as he was with all the inquisition henchmen in the final chapters in the first trilogy.

@@ryanmattox7408 Heroes was my least favorite out of the stand alone books. But I'm glad you liked it so much!

I always love Ferro's first description of Logen. She see's the killer in him before we do
Best character of all time
without a doubt
Glokta and Logan are the best
Glotka: and I took that personally
"No... I'm free of you..."
Out of all the lines in the series-- it's this one that pops into my head most.
Steven Pacey is actually the goat.
13:15 is when the Bloody-Nine emerges 😉
Steven Pacey is a damn legend. When he stops reading The First Law books, I will probably just get them in print. If Joe were a god, Steven would probably be his prophet.
Hands down the best narrator I've ever had the pleasure of listening to.

For you, i'll do it! You can never have too many quotes..
If you can say one thing for the uploader and one thing only, he picked a great scene!
Well said request 😂
I have uploadet the next Bloody Nine scene.
@@real_calm_ish say one thing for Mr. Mister, say that he's consistent
The B9 is one of my fav characters.
Patrick Henry fuck yeah he is
Thanks for the upload. This is one of the best chapters ever written.... in any book. I love this so much.

I agree with you, I hope so too
I think he's got demon blood in him, like Ferro, just much "thinner"
Easier to stop the Whiteflow.
The storm in the high places!
Then stop the Bloody Nine
Better to embrace the fire
@@currangill430 = Stone-splitter.
@@digitalcommunist6335 Stoneshiter 😂
Every fighter wants to be able to go crazy like the bloody nine.
Say one thing for Logen Ninefingers...
... Say he's a killer.
😎🔪
THIS VOICE AGAIN??? this guy is incredible
This scene had my jaw on the floor when I first read it. It was so fuckin cool dude 😂😂

This is the best. The whole book i spent wondering what was the big deal about the Bloody Nine when all we'd seen was Logan. Was it all just stories?

Great. You just need one for Red Country now.
Yup, I will upload it at some point in the near future.
@@real_calm_ish Is it up yet?
@@calebwinfield1403 No not yet, I will upload it within next week. And will start working on the Bremer dan Gorst fighting scenes. Any other requests?

who did the artwork?
Front cover for the special edition of "the heroes". Not sure of the artist name though.
