Paavo Siljamaki from Above & Beyond and Miika Elorant from Super8 on the beat... ah good old times, my favorite track from Aalto, I miss that style...

I can understand missing the time but the style didn't go anywhere. There is more of this style music today than there was back then. just not on Anjuna. Check some of my other comments on this video if you want to know where to look for it. But guys like Daniel Kandi, Ferry Tayle, Suncatcher, Aly & Fila ect ect are going stronger than ever. plus there are literally thousands of new talented producers in this style and literally hundreds of record labels releasing this kind of music these days. there is more of it than ever before. just not on Anjuna anymore. Even Armin plays uplifting trance for an hour on his 2 hours radio show ASOT every week. you should look at my other comments on this video if you desire to find this kind of music. if you think that noone makes this style anymore then you have been seriously missing out on tons and tons of great tunes.

+Blane Murphy yes! exactly. my heart breaks that anjuna turned to shit, but for real, there ARE still people who are producing in a similar style to classic anjuna. the best/closest example i can think of is Temple One. he's amazing, much of his stuff sounds straight outta 2004/05 anjunabeats. plus lots of old anjuna artists releasing on other labels too. adam nickey, nitrous oxide. theyre all still making trance. just gotta look hard. there are some great uplifting trance labels that are still going strong. check out infrasonic pure & always alive. and obviously FSOE too. they release diff types of trance but they have beeen releasing a lot of great uplifting lately. although its a slight different style than classic anjuna, (harder kicks, less floaty sounding) it's still amazing.

anjunabagels yea I mentioned all those labels in another post. I actually disagree about Anjuna turning to shit though. I actually think they still release some of the best music in the dance music world. In fact they are my fav label now. Back in the uplifting days I liked Armada more. But now I think Anjuna takes the cake. The new Anjuna is by far my fav sound in the trance world. But see I like it all, from uplifting , to the new Anjuna. To the big room Armada style, to darker cold Harbour stuff and even Psy trance. But for me I'm bored to death of uplifting trance. Maybe 10 uplifting tunes a year actually catch my attention. But nearly every Armada and Anjuna release is different and fresh. So I'm not bored of those sounds yet. And Anjuna and Armada push the sounds forward. Whereas uplifting is just the same old uplifting. But that being said, Suncatcher Remix of bogdan Vix forever, and Suncatcher Transylvania cowgirl were straight out of the old days of Anjuna. And they came out within the last year. They were awesome tunes to me that took me right back. So did ferry tayle whole album. And Max braimen and kandi still make that exact Anjuna style.

+Blane Murphy Dude I can't agree with you, uplifting just sounds so generic and unimaginative now. Same old rolling basslines and "epic" breakdowns. It's like every producer watched the same tutorials on RUclips and went from there. Anjuna sounds fresh and innovative, they have the most talented producers in the scene, like Bayer and Sunny Lax, and Above & Beyond themselves just keep getting better and better.

I have to disagree. The Anjuna sound in these tracks produced back in the day are totally different in terms of the sounds. The anjuna sound is very uniqe. Im talking about the melodies, their structures, how the track is built with the progression of the pads, the plucks used, etc...

ahhh, such timeless classic. aalto one of my all time favourite groups,. although they didn't make very many tracks together, they've still earned a spot in my top favourites. love this track & i love how you can clearly hear influences from paavo & super8 in each and every aalto track. so incredibly beautiful

And what happened to trance in now-days? Today we can hear only some glamour and fashion stuff in trance. No melodies, no motives and of course no chances. I really begin to understand people who says about missing some old-school trance like this one.

You should just realize that Anjunabeats isn't the only label in trance. yes it's true that they don't release this style anymore. but I can think of about 15 labels that release this style of uplifting trance right off the top of my head. Monster Tunes, Vandit, Abora, Blue Soho, Tytanium, Black Hole, FSOE, WAO138, Always Alive, Digital Society, Infrasonic, Kearnage, Mental Asylum, Damaged, Defcon, even ASOT and Armind have released some old school uplifting trance this year. Like Craig Connelly two tunes called "Shipwreck" and "No One Like You". Alex Morphs latest tune with Heatbeat is called " Amistad " is really classic sounding as well. plus every label I mentioned releases multiple uplifting trance tunes each week. and that's just a a tiny list. I would venture to say that there is more uplifting trance than progressive trance by far even now in 2015. its just that it's not from Anjuna. Guys like Suncatcher, Ferry Tayle, Aly & Fila, ect ect ect ect ect are all going just as strong as ever. Its just that Enhanced and Anjuna don't release uplifting anymore. it seems a common theme of people commenting on the Anjuna videos about how there is no more trance. that's so far from true. there is more trance being made in this style today than there was back when this tune was released. you just have to actually look for it. Shit even Armin still plays uplifting trance for the whole second hour of his radio show EVERY week. Hope this helps!

You have a valid point Blane. But you still did not answer the big question, which is what happened to Anjunabeats. No one's asking what happened to black hole, vandit and those other labels. Yes, you're right, there is still great sounding trance being released on those other record labels today. But what you're saying is exactly why everyone is disappointed! It's disappointing that we now have to search for these other record labels to find trance music that we used to be able to enjoy hearing on Anjunabeats

Jason Saunders I guess for me I actually like the new Anjuna Wayyyyy better than the old uplifting stuff. Maybe I tired myself out of it or maybe it's because I used to produce it, but I just like the newer styles better. The older stuff just seems very generic to me. All the bass lines were very similar and all of the sounds use were super similar. Even the patterns of leaves and everything we're similar. In today's progressive trance the bass lines and sounds used for much more varied. Yes a lot of angina tunes nowadays use the big wide supersaw lead sounds but other than that everything else sounds very fresh. And I'm just much more into it now. I just feel like uplifting trance has been done before in every single way imaginable and nothing seems new anymore. I do still listen to uplifting trance and I do still love it. I still follow all those labels that I mentioned but I just really like the newer styles much better.

All of you every Thursday keep talking about Anjuna. Why is it so bad and why they do not produce this style anymore etc etc. These people (A&B) will do whatever they like. Not what you like. If you do not like it do not listen to them. I will say it forever. Anjunasound the best sound in electronic music! Anjunabeats the most iconic label in electronic music... Hands down! Bye bye guys!
