I'm still adamant Kandi was held back by Anjuna's 'evolving sound' at this point for this remix. I hear a restrained uplifting banger in this mix and I'm sure there are some rejected drafts on DK's hard drive!
I don't remember where I read it, but there was some promo for the track a while ago where A&B basically said this track showed Kandi's jump into "the new trance 2.0 sound" (they even used the label trance 2.0). I think it is telling of what was going on behind the scenes: Anjuna's A&R knew exactly what they were looking for, and I guess DK's signature uplifting sound wasn't gonna cut it. Kinda a shame, cause evidently Resolution was one of his favorite Anjuna classics, he def could have made a sweet uplifter out of it
@@SevenBliss Absolutely! And I think he did, before Kandi came up with this middle ground mix, aka 'the solution'. I vividly remember Tony calling the change of sound 'trance 2.0'. Whether he was tongue-in-cheek about it or not is another matter, but he still said it and that was the end of Anjuna's glory days, in my opinion. I think Kandi told A&B/Anjuna where to go after this and set up Always Alive 😅
@@MikeJackson690 yeah once those modern labels were slapped into trance, Anjuna just ran with it. I'm glad Kandi told them what to do with their labels for trance haha, though I will be sad a bit cause his old Anjuna sound was really something special... at least he didn't sell out! Always Alive's been keeping up the consistent quality for years now
Fuckin genius Daniel Kandi this track its a masterpiece so poor of views how is that possible?? People don't realize real music what it is
