    One thing about the hit. If you can ensure you are able to out-backpressure your opponent to where they begin to disengage at the wrist, which with experience you can feel it, you should be able to go as hard as you want to the side

    • @rileyneufeld7001
      @rileyneufeld7001 4 года назад +1

      Thats why training your cup is so important. You can drag them to your side of the table, or if they fight your drag they will lose their wrist, and then toprolling is easy money from there.

    The Way of the Fist!

  • @saltedllama2759
    @saltedllama2759 4 года назад +8

    His with-the-fist technique is so different, but it's helped me a ton. The bulk of the internet doesn't get it, and they watch countless hours of roided up mongoloids using handles the size of telephone poles. The fat handle isn't a practical application, and doesn't even simulate what's happening when you grip up.
    This is how Travis has consistently slammed guys to the pad who are bigger than he is.

    • @rileyneufeld7001
      @rileyneufeld7001 4 года назад +1

      The fist technique is a very good approach for a toproll. It allows you to Target the outer edge of the person's hand, and if your pronation is strong enough you can completely open their rotation. Crazy George, probably the best kings mover/toproller ever, uses this technique. He even beat Travis Bagent! He is a middleweight that beat at that time the best right handed pullers ever... Anything other than toprolling it is not a good grip however.

    • @rileyneufeld7001
      @rileyneufeld7001 4 года назад +7

      @@stoneeh Never lived up to his potential? Travis has been #1 right handed and left as well. That's pretty good if you ask me. Nobody, let me say that again, NOBODY can stay at the top of the hill forever. Look at John his shoulder is all f*cked up, Devon Larrat had to get three surgeries and hasn't been the same, Voyevoda was number one for less than a year, Michael Todd can't even put his hands in his pocket cause his arms are all f*cked up, Cyplenkov almost died... Travis is getting old, he can still be at the top and left handed I think he is at the top.

    • @aaronrus
      @aaronrus 4 года назад +3

      Riley Neufeld I still want to see a healthy Cyplenkov vs Bagent match. Denis, no matter how ‘strong’ he is, I am convinced Travis’s style is bad for him. Travis has a stronger/faster hit left handed than Pushkar ever did, by far, he would burn through Denis 3 or 4 rounds before Denis was able to get a catch, and by then, it will be over, because Travis will just change the angle of the hit.

    Why do so many people hate on the beast? I mean let’s be real other than Devon Larratt and Janis and coach Ray on their channel Travis is pretty much the only arm wrestler that is giving technical advice that isn’t common knowledge. Also in regards to the one trick pony comment. If that one trick works 99% of the time why do you need anything else? Just my opinion. Keep the great info coming Travis.

    I just watched an excellent interview with Travis from 2010. He was just being real and answering some very good questions. What jumped out at me was how good a man Travis seems to be, even though he's said his own dad was severely lacking in certain regards. The interviewer asked him his goals in life, and without hesitating Travis said, "To be the perfect husband and father to these kids." Later he talked about living life according to his own principles and not wavering from them. Don't know about y'all, but a man observing those principles right there is a success, and if countless other fathers saw it that way the world would be a much better place. Congrats Travis on caring enough to be better.

    I’ve noticed that the singular fist heavy hit based toproll that Travis does also prevents him from finishing a lot of the catchers off when they are like an inch from the pin pad. Some years he buries his opponents hand into the pin pad because he’s just too strong, ie, Dave Chafee in 2016, and other years, he consistently stops short.
    He’s definitely a phenom still to this day, and I think his philosophy has a lot of merit, and by being a primarily toproll/hit based Puller, I think he has longevity in the sport because of that. He doesn’t have to juice himself into oblivion like the Eastern European Pullers, he can just stick to short cycles before major competition, and rely on his fast twitch muscle fibers and the faster neurological connections that are made from the juice.
